I’ve been working with Trusted for a year and ultimately I’ve always been the highest paid traveller on the unit and have had pretty smooth onboarding experiences. My issues arise during the assignment if there’s any issues or concerns it is super difficult to get any of my questions answered or escalated to the person who can give me the answers I need. Sometimes it takes weeks to get a simple issue resolved due to the structure of communication recently. They use this portal to communicate that really sucks and it’s really difficult to get someone on the phone and your issues handled. They’re all about “we hear you” and “we’re so sorry this is happening” but clearly that doesn’t help when you’re looking for answers and responses that lead you getting the things you need.
Luckily I’m good at advocating for myself and escalating my issues but I wouldn’t recommend them to a new traveller or someone who’s scared to speak up.

I have worked for them for almost a year now. Their COVID quarantine policy used to be that you got paid your full time for when the facility told you you could not come it, despite being actually sick or not. Now they apparently have changed their policy to be that you have to use sick time when you are forced into quarantine. This policy is forcing people to not do the appropriate thing and get tested after an exposure in fear of not getting paid and being forced out of work. This policy isn’t in the nurse’s, patients or CO-workers best interest as it discourages testing after an exposure. It also discourages testing for mild symptoms in fear of not getting a pay check for a set amount of time. As their current sick time is only 1 hour for every 30 hours worked and are not allowed to take paid sick leave under 90 days of employment with them. 

We deserves to be paid when forced into quarantine by the facility.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Minimal contacts from company, streamlined onboarding process and rapid responses when needed. Your not given multiple contacts for different things, you send a text from the web site or app and the appropriate person contacts you almost immediately. The pay is among the highest and their additional hour rates are better than most. I can't say enough good things.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There are little or no stresses in my experience working with Trusted.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Attentative, responsive and personable.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Not applicable. You do not work directly at Trusted.

Working for Trusted was great in the beginning. It provided decent pay and flexible hours. After a few months, we were notified that Trusted was changing the way they hire and train contractors. We thought this meant we were getting new coworkers. Every team helped trained a new organization of offshore contractors. We soon discovered that the new offshore contractors would eventually replace us. A few of us stayed on to continue training, and it was daunting to experience because we saw our coworkers slowly being let go. As a start up company, it is understandable that there will be growing pains, but it would have been nice to see more transparency from the beginning about their plans to restructure their hiring system.

This is a great company to work for if you are NOT a travel nurse.  If you want to work for the company in compliance or coordinator, it is an easy job.  Flexible work hours and location.  You work when and where you want, and complete your tasks when you want to.  No accountability.

As a customer or travel nurse, it is not a good job.  The company is difficult to get in touch with and does not follow through.  Work assignment are often delayed, preparations are chaotic and disorganized, and communication is non-existent.  They come off as immature and uninterested.  While the competitors will hire and place nurses into jobs within 1-2 weeks, Trusted takes 4-8 weeks for the same job.  

Have worked for trusted for a year and a half. They are different then most of the travel companies as you don't have a recruiter. You can see the job details yourself and apply for positions. During Covid their pay was usually significantly higher then other companies, but this has not been the case recently. The idea was that your pay was higher because you aren't paying a recruiter, I don't know what changed but their pay seems average now. Their app works well and makes submitting your time card easy. Paid weekly, never had an issue with getting paid correctly. When you are applying for jobs their communication can be slow, usually don't hear back until the next business day if you have questions. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Initially the pay was good, but that changed over time.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Credentialing specialists who waited until the last minute to get documents you needed and then expected you to have the onboarding item done the next day….even though you were in contract with them and they should know your current work schedule wouldn’t allow that kind of fast turn around.

They make it obvious you’re just a number.

Varies depending on the assignment

The company is not paying you when you are required to not work until a certain date by the hospital, despite not being sick from COVID. I tested positive, I am not sick. I have been forced not to return to work by the hospital until a set date, which would make me miss all of my shifts in a week. They are telling me it is just their sick policy that I am covered under and not their called out by the facility policy. Thus I am not getting paid for my shifts. I have worked with them for almost a year and this is their new policy as before it was deemed being called out by the facility. 

My experience with Trusted has been about as good as I could hope for. Healthcare in general has been a difficult field to work in over the past few years, yet they made the transition to travel nursing easy and straight forward. Of course, nothing is perfect and staying on top of all the forms, annual competencies and compliance every 3 months can be arduous at times. Comparatively, however, it is no more than other agencies, and I believe worth the investment.
