OVERALL was not a great place to work… Seeking employment straight out of college for a little experience (as I did), this is an “ok” place to do so. I had more issues with the place they hired me with (PMHC). The hours are okay but terrible as well. Very flexible but flexible to the point where sometimes you will not be working. ONLY 30 hrs a week, not good enough for someone actually trying to make a living. When kids don’t have school, you don’t get paid.. Half of the time my pay checks were LATE. They did give me a raise from $14 to $17 about a year later but again, ONLY 30 hours.. I left a little over a year because I felt that I was no longer growing or learning. Also, I felt that I had to depend on the child and parents for my pay. Ex.. You have a case with a child that only comes to school 2-3 times out the week, on a good week, you may only get 20-22 hours out of those 2-3 days… meaning, you are now shorted out of the little bit of money you are already making because that child was not in school for WHATEVER reason.. But I hope this gives some insight to someone applying and thinking about working for this company. GOODLUCK!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Once you start up with your assignment,  you are pretty much locked up with staying there. These are group home assignments, and not all of the houses are well run. The supervisors set the protocols for how things are done. And it is very common for them to do things their own way. Sometimes this went against my own personal standards for proper client care

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not very friendly. Regular staff didn't always like working with agency staff. They felt we were taking hours away from them personally. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy. Numerous clients in each house. Care plans could be very physically and emotionally demanding. And if your coworker didn't do their part, it was very overwhelming

The employees here are all very close and make you feel very welcome. The CEO is also involved in the culture, cares about the employees and puts you at ease. This is also reflected in all management. 

You are given flexibility to do your job in your own style. There is a lot of opportunity and encouragement for upward mobility. You feel your input is really valued here. 

The job itself requires you to love people and to have the ability to separate those who are genuine from those who are not in the candidate pool.  It is rewarding to play a role in helping a person find their career, especially in the behavioral health industry.

-Building relationships with our Contractors

US Medical is so disjointed between departments and there's constant bickering and fighting. Upper management doesn't care about their recruiters or account managers. They'd much rather hire new talent than focus on developing who they already have. There is no parental leave and the communication from HR is so lacking, it's a joke. You're lucky to find out any benefits information before the open enrollment window closes. The training program is a hot mess that doesn't work for 90% of new employees and is stressful for everyone involved.
The commission structure is decent but the base pay is so bad that you have to rely on getting a good commission to pay your bills.

I have been working here for a little over a year and a half so far. My experience has been phenomenal! U.S. Medical Staffing, Inc.'s personalized training helped foster and grow my entrepreneurial abilities and gain the confidence to manage my own book of business. My typical day consists of contacting potential candidates and managing them through our process until they find an opportunity that aligns with their goals and lifestyle in behavioral health. Of course I have fun doing this! Everyone from our Customers, Candidates, and Clients; I strive to ensure that anyone associated with U.S. Medical Staffing, Inc. has a positive experience and can grow from their interaction with me! - it's our culture.

I truly caring and compassionate team of personnel that has every employee and clients best interest and heart and mind. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There isn't any part of the job that is stressful working for us medical staffing. The company truly dedicate finding employment for all staffers that works for the team of independent contractors contractors.

For the most part the camaraderie for most of staff members that are all job sites are wonderful.

While working for US MEDICAL STAFFING MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT.

US medical staffing is a temp agency that have you placed in different locations. However, the locations I have been have been very unprofessional, unorganized with dealing with mentally challenged individuals. when working with the companies through US medical staffing you do not get any incentives as the employees for that company do which is holidays off paid off if building chooses to close and any personal time off is personal time without pay. US medical is Day just for placement. Did they do not pay attention of how the company that they are working with is being run so I guess it doesn’t matter to them as much as it does to the people that they place in these locations. 

They will not pay you on time or for all of your hours and they are not responsive to your emails and calls once you've accepted an assignment. They are responsive and friendly when they want to get you to take an assignment but after that, its a different story. I had to call the department of labor because they would not professionally resolve my pay issues after numerous phone calls and emails . Unless you are in a VERY desperate situation and need something for a short time, don't give yourself a headache by working with them. Very unprofessional agency and I've worked with several in the city. This one is horrible.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. They don't pay on time and nobody there tells the truth. They constantly screw over their contractors.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Never knowing if the work instructions you are given are correct.  HALFWAY thru an assignment someone will question why and how you are doing your assignments. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Better since now it is all remote.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Horriblel, that about sums it up. Nothing more to add.

I have been with USMS for almost 6 months know and with the integral collaborations between departments and overall workplace culture, I've learned that this is one job that cares for its people. Although working remotely limits my every day dialogue, management and each team finds a way to include me and other remote colleagues. I've learned that the hardest part of my job IS the most enjoyable part whereas keeping the momentum and the team work in tact is an imperative piece in obtaining the goals we set as a whole.
