Working at United Methodist Communities on the first day i was nervous but excited at the same time because it was my first job. Throughout Last year which i started on September 13 up until this day 12/3/18 I can say i learned how to take my time, think before making a false move to mess anything up in an Dietary Kitchen. 

The Management On the job at first was horrible there was no order and so much confusion such as the everyone's schedule being unbalanced and the hours not adding up. The Culture In the United Methodist Communities Right now is very Good and flowing day in and Day out. 

The Hardest Part In Working In Dietary is making sure the Orders are right in the first place and making sure the residents food are hot.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the job is Everyone Working together as a team and clocking out on time. Helping Your co-worker out whenever you see them struggling. I can say help goes a long way any and everywhere you go. Working As a team with anyone goes far in life.

A typical day will be doing your daily duties assigned, Didn't learned anything productive beside drama from within the department between co-workers and management. Every day its something going on....
Management if any are hardly present, or not around when you need them and most of the time they are clueless what really going on in there department until the situation escalate. The company picture themselves something they really aren't. The job its alright but wouldn't recommended  it to anyone. The pay isn't good for the many responsibility you will be ongoing, you are best going to another company and offer your services somewhere else. The pay isn't good and the raise is very minimum.  Good luck if you consider taking the job.

In my first 2 days at work at The Shores, I experienced more kindness, warmth and professional connection with my new colleagues, direct care and support personnel than I had in the last 2 years of my work life. We, the staff are not perfect, but all want to grow and do the right thing. From a manager's perspective, working with personnel who desire to do the right thing, not necessarily the easiest thing is a very BIG deal. The work culture is great and the culture of care for residents is second to none. This community supports management in putting the staff and the residents wellbeing above all else. Amazing place to work.

A typical day at work is all about working as a team. From the time I get to work until the time I leave it's always a feeling of being around family, from my co-workers to the residents we all try to help one another and encourage each other to do are best. Management is great, my administrator is a hard worker she's hands on and does her absolute best to keep our building running smoothly. We have a mixed culture at our facility but everyone unites and share things about their cultures and learn from one another through events that we have at Bishop Taylor. The hardest part of the job is seeing seniors with no family. The best part of my job is I can be that the family those seniors don't have and finding them resources that will age them in place.

While healthcare is always stressful and demanding, working for a company that puts people over profits and allows residents to direct their own lives, encourages employee growth, and celebrates resident and staff wins and talents, is a blessing. There is easy transition of care from aL, AL+, memory care, subacute, ltc, and hospice and a wonderful in-house, supportive, therapy department.  Residents can live out their lives, receiving the varying levels of care they need without excessive moves or difficulty.  This is a great place to live and work!

I enjoy work because of the people i work with.  The pay is not the best, but wanting to come to work is more important sometimes unless you really need to make more.  Most days go fast, some slow but always different.  When you only work under one manager you really don't know how other managers are.  We all get along.  Only wish communication from HO and inside community was a little better.  The hardest part is when someone passes, you not only loss the resident the family members that you have become friendly with are no longer around.  We do have some family members come back just to say hello and that is a great feeling.   The best part is all the residents as they are all different and just love them all.  We have wonderful associates which makes it nice to come to work.  Best of all i have a job!!!

Working with people and their needs can have challenging days, but the staff is a team and provides the support needed

Great culture and morale! The staff works continuously at building an environment of encouragement , development and professionalism

Every day can be different due to the nature of business. Most importantly, it is working through different issues and needs that arise.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Financial stability and longevity of the company. The faith-based not-for-profit mission brings together a fantastic team of compassionate people to serve our elders.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with the pandemic the last few years has been hard for everybody in the healthcare business. But things are getting better every day.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Supportive leadership with a focus on teamwork and growth. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day is different which is why I like it. But every single day I get to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

Managers do not know how to manage.They have favorites and usually the favorites are the ones that don't do their work. People who work hard don't get the recognition they deserve. Employees can do a better job of running the place than the manage. I love the residents and my coworkers that I have to work with. The managers are terrible unless you are one of the liked employees.You almost feel alone there because there is no one to turn to when you have a problem. Nothing gets solved. I love love love the residents though so it's a shame. They also seem to care more about the employees getting fed than the residents.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents. There is nothing nice I can say about, besides it use to be a great place to work. It's not a 5 Star anymore.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is no respect on a daily basis. Nasty managers. It's like working on a plantation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No comment 😔You will have to be the judge of that question. Just don't looking for work at United Methodist community.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Can't wait to go home, and have a piece of mind. I forget all about that job.
