Uncommon Grounds

My only issue I had with Uncommon was that I was going no where after 4 years of being there, there was no position higher than mine...
Otherwise Uncommon is a wonderful place to work. The coworkers are amazing and understanding. If anyone has an issue with a coworker we do our best to settle it so that work can be enjoyable for us. It's a place where you can have fun but also can be very serious and busy at the same time. You get to know your regulars and make new friends. Uncommon taught me a lot about how to handle stressful situations, such as emergency situations, and unsatisfied customers, and even rude customers with ease... I have learned a lot of things from Uncommon and I would never leave if there were benefits and a position higher for me to accomplish.

It's a hit or a miss if you'd being having a good day at work. A lot of the time you'll see half the staff working extremely hard and the other half just sliding by. It gets super toxic with the gossip too, you'll be finding out something new about yourself everyday. Note the sarcasm. It pays pretty good and the environment can be fun if you work with the right people. The breaks are a major plus and the foods decent especially since you don't pay for your lunch. It's pretty good overall just keep to yourself and ride the gossip like a wave.

Shifts are generally fast paced with little down time until about 6 pm. Management lacks awareness of workplace culture, and there is an unspoken, generally denied, but very prevalent workplace hierarchy. Somewhat high turnover, generally coworkers are cool. Little to no opportunity for upward mobility. Favoritism and nepotism is brazy. A lot of drama. Not accommodating of disabilities despite claiming to be. TLDR don't take everything at face value. Great job if you like to collect your check and bounce.

I loved working for this company, worked there 2+years but got annoyed by lack of advancement and terrible management and relocated to another state. My co-workers were Rad but who stays at a coffee shop for more than 2 years and that pays them less than a living wage because of cool co-workers...Not about that naw meen

Workplace functions a lot like a high school, with various cliques. AM claims no favoritism while refusing to acknowledge that her friends aren't properly doing their jobs while literally screaming at anyone else for minor mistakes. 

This working environment is relaxed, however very fast paced at times. Most staff are very friendly and love to express themselves. Raises are very likely if you ask. 50 percent off all products in the store. Tips are fantastic. Customers are judgmental.

I had the privilege of working with a great team of fellow servers, bartenders and kitchen staff. Although, the management had a relatively quick turn-over rate and therefore was not always a reliable source of leadership 

Best job I've ever had. My coworkers were incredible, the owner was incredibly supportive and trusted her employees to handle all types of situations. The staff was diverse and inclusive, and the customer base was also lovely.

If you enjoy a fast paced environment, and are not intimidated by lines out the door, you will enjoy working here. Most employee’s are college students, and there is a great sense of support and camaraderie amongst staff and management. 

Work was very productive, learned many things such as advertising and customer service approaches. My co-workers and managers were amazing friendly and helpful.
