On a typical day at work consist of making sure that students in Behavioral Focus are on task with the requirements needed to complete assignments assigned.  
These students have a hard time staying on task so assisting them with reading and explanation is critical.  Motoring them for behavior and staying on task is a very needed part during the day,  I cannot say that their is a hard part of the job if you are dedicated to the students and what the job details and requires.  Taking a positive attitude with these students is the first action of assisting them, not being judgmental is the second.  Knowing each student does not learn at the same pace will make the job easier, and taking time with each one individually will give each student a feeling of success.  Knowing that there are other problems that decreases their learning abilities such as family, and peer pressure will open other ways in teaching them to get along with their fellow students,  Management and co-workers sometimes have a hard time understanding the behavior of these students, so this is something they have to be willing to learn and control.  As for myself I am very positive and understand the students and express the importance of punishment when not following directions and orders, but exhibit this in a positive way.

This was a good bridge position from staying at home with kids to going back into the workforce. Hours were exclusively during school hours, and the pay was good because of the high level of funding for the school at which I was assigned. 

As a tutor, I was tasked with working with lower-performing students who frequently had issues of varying severity at home that prevented or hindered their school success. Trying to assist teachers who were over worked and under compensated while maintaining a nurturing environment for the kids we worked with was taxing emotionally. 

We were frequently asked to help kids who had waaaaay bigger problems than not reading at grade level, such as serious emotional disorders, learning delays, chaotic and unpredictable home life, etc. and then were judged as being ineffective when we couldn't achieve quick improvements.

Teachers were nice. I honestly felt pretty sad for them and for the kids who clearly weren't getting good support at home.

My day is filled with all grade levels in the Computer Lab. Each student has their own computer to work and experiment with while learning valuable skills. I work with them on internet safety while also working on MSOffice products. I have learned how to tailor my teaching style for individual learning styles and how to better communicate with different aged children and adults. My principal has praised my ability to be flexible and an integral member on staff. My co-workers seek my help and expertise with computer related issues/questions. The hardest part of my job is remaining calm when an individual finally understands the method and is able to apply what they have learned. The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing the joy on the face of children when they are able to accomplish a computer related task on their own. The sense of accomplishment and independence that radiates is immeasurable. I also enjoy hearing from staff members when they are successful at utilizing some equipment/software to share lessons with their classroom.

When I interviewed for the job they made it seem like it was a very good place to work with good long term benefits after being here for 5 years now I’ve learned the truth about Union County Public Schools and I do not recommend anyone younger to apply or consider working here it’s a dead end job feeling everyday with no incentive to work hard because there are no benefits to hard work and no annual raises and the pay even with the “so called benefits” to the job the pay is way under where it should be for facilities jobs and when you ask about it the answer you get is and I quote “my hands are tied” you are just another number to them on payroll in my opinion they could care less about you as a person and do not value your expertise or you as a person if they did they would treat employees better and do what they need to and make sure you don’t have to work two or three jobs to makes a living.

Most of my day is filled with finding various ways to encourage children to reach their potential. While teaching exciting and powerful lessons, I also act as a social worker, helping students with special needs or issues related to their home and/or social environment.
I have learned to respond thoughtfully and exercise patience in a positive setting.
Working with my grade-level team is advantageous. We share ideas and information while giving support to each other.
The most challenging part of my job is the lack of down-time. Lunch and recess is spent with my students. During their special classes [art or gym, etc.] my time is filled with meetings and clerical work. 
The part of the job I enjoy the most is seeing enlightenment on the face of a student who has acquired additional knowledge. It is rewarding to have a positive affect in someone's life.

A typical work day for me is planning, giving instructions, interacting with students and the faculty. I have learned about different personalities that will allow a great positive change in others lives by interacting with them and motivating them while preparing them for the future. My co-workers are very helpful, kind and supportive. The hardest part of the job sometimes is wanting to reach students that have behavior problems because some are moving towards a negative road and you want to reach all of them and help change their lives from going down the wrong road. The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that the students are learning, interacting and excited about school while making a change.

•	Facilitate excellent customer service to Public, Principals, Custodian, experienced working in diverse population 
•	Trained Custodial staff to obtain responsibility for professional and personal growth
•	Maintained all custodial reports in NC WISE System, Key, Generated all termination request
•	Performed all accounting functions dealing with employment contacts and payroll in Tacks system
•	Conduct all reference checks for new hires, key all new hirer paper work in Tacks system
•	Develop all work schedules and cleaning plans for Principals and Custodians
•	Provide UCPS Handbook, Custodial Handbook, go over with custodians
•	Responsible for inventory, ordered all office supplies, custodial supplies
•	Implemented Growth Improvement Plans, Evaluate Custodial Staff

I used to love where I worked. I had a wonderful team, wonderful administrators, and overall wonderful students. The pandemic has changed everything. The place I work used to be the "shining jewel" or whatever, but that can't be further from the truth today. The current admin team maybe has 1 out of 4 members that know how to adequately do their job. There is no discipline for children, and they feel they can get away with anything. The thing is, my school probably isn't even the worst in the district. The Board of Education (which is a political position, and not part of UCPS) makes decisions that run directly counter common sense, and they pander to public fear and complaint, in hopes of getting reelected next term. 

If you want to be a teacher, look elsewhere.

It's a huge company that involves almost all schools in North Carolina

When I was transferred from kindergarten classroom to first grade classroom

There are some teachers that used to gossip to the principal during working hours, but the location of the school has a good approach to the communities

Arrive to school, greet the staff, clock in, pick up correspondence for you as a teacher, get into the classroom with the teacher

A typical day at work involved planning programs for parents and children under five years of age, planning educational activities for both to maintain their interest in books. I had a great relationship with coworkers. Upper management was able to support our work and I was very please with their work ethic. The hardest part of my job was recruiting new participants since it was a grant funded position and our budget involved maintaining the numbers up. Even though it was hard to do, we always went above and beyond our duties to maintain those numbers. The most enjoyable part of my job was interact with parents and children, to present programs and design activities for them.
