A typical day at work: You come in and have to fix many issues from the previous shift, mainly failed leak tests, and components put on wrong. Lots of searching for leak test caps. Lots of waiting for overhead cranes and the single forklift for 30 welders, all while trying to maintain a recorded work rate. Dealing with smug, rude, and  bigoted co workers. Dealing with leads that are very unhelpful, and managers that lord over you and act like they’re better than you on many different levels.

What was learned: there are things to learn such as mid-complex print reading, repair techniques, and if you’re just starting out, welding and fab techniques.

Management/leads: awful and not helpful, only care about themselves and it’s always a big deal if you need help or have questions.

Workplace culture: they claim in higher management that they are making a positive change; however, on the floor this is actively resisted. I was told that upper management is worried about positive culture, but on the floor we don’t care about that. I was told this by the training lead and Forman. Most other leads reflect this also.

Hardest part of the job, lots of very long welds on your knees, repair work, climbing around on tanks and tables, bur dealing with leads and management is the worst.

Most enjoyable part of job: Best and main reason anyone stays there is the benefits and pay is better than most. But you pay for that in other ways.

I’ve been working there for almost 2 years now. For the past four months, I’ve been asking to switch areas for advancement, weekly. I am being met with empty promises from my supervisor. The last supervisor did the same thing. When you go to HR about a problem, it is not taken very seriously and ultimately makes you feel as if you shouldn’t even go to them directly. There is major favoritism, and it shows clearly when other employees are preferred for task rather than others that are clearly not busy. They recently just created a rule where only two people per area are allowed to use the forklift which will slow down our production majorly so we do not hit our bonus goals. I’m currently looking for a union based job for the first time because of this company. A good portion of the welders that work there are very unhappy, but feel stuck. After all the company has put them through- It seems as if they are a shell of a person. I used to recommend this place to my friends, now I can’t say that I would do the same anymore. Any extra work is not validated, seen, or respected. I’ve completely lost motivation to do my job after building resentment for the company I work for.

Work/life balance you have to fight for it,   they will want you to slave away here and not care about anything you have going on outside of work.

Compensation/benefits -  Average.

Job security/advancement -  There is no such thing as security here,  at any given moment for any unknown reason you can be fired.  No matter how long you been here or how well you perform.  
Advancement is all how well you are liked and kiss their behinds.  

Management -  I would say its very unorganized.   The turnover rate here is very high.   So they just keep firing and getting new people rather than address the real problem at hand,  the lack of leadership and management.  

Job Culture -  90% of the people on the production floor are miserable and irritable.   This is a direct result from a lack of leadership and management.  

Overall it is not a pleasant place and they keep face rather well.

When I first started there, it seemed like a good company.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As they expanded, money seemed to be more important. I found in my department that they started to micromanage. Looked over your shoulder.  Didn't make a good working experience.  The company likes to write people up and then fire them.  I wouldn't recommend them.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was very stressful to me.  They wouldn't let me do my job without someone scrutinizing everything I did.  I am not saying I wasn't without blame. But when you have someone looking over your shoulder you seem to make more mistakes.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Form me, it was very busy. There was always something to do. That is not all bad.  It made the days go by faster.

The management here is horrible. There was no communication between the shop and engineering. I received my review I was rated above the company standards and called two days later and laid off on 1/31/2020. I started through a staffing agency, was hired in before 90 days and had to do an additional 90 days to qualify for benefits. Management kept people who were disciplined for lack of work and not given a pay raise because of it. They kept people who were on the verge of being fired for attendance issues who they also did not have to give a pay raise. They did not keep me because I was being paid a little more because of my experience. This place does not want a job well done. They want the cheapest, fastest product regardless of quality. You will not matter to the management.

I worked here for a few months from a temp agency but mid January right before school started and about a week before I was supposed to be hired in I got a call from the temp agency saying they got a email saying I was being laid off. I found that very unprofessional especially finding out from a 3rd party. Also the people I worked with some were decent but for the most part they treated you like you didn't know anything and if you walked away to get a tool they start telling everyone that you're being lazy and they won't let you do any work when you get back. The manager I had was alright, him and I had decent conversations going between plant 1 & 2 and he was understanding when I needed to leave either due to weather or family issues.

What is the best part of working at the company?
When you punching out, and when you can avoid the riff Raff from coworkers who think they're more important than next

The old time racism of the Gainesville residence who still think that this is for every time

It started off as fun then it became nerve-racking then it became irritating and consuming

Originally took this job in a tight squeeze. It offered ot hrs but had low pay. The communication amongst departments is mediocre at best. There is a lot of favoritism here as with most places. However, if you can handle that then it does pay weekly and if you can make it into the Nickel Solid dept., you could stay a while. Air quality sucks as you are dealing with metals and metal dust. Bi lingual is a plus as many departments have hired many spanish speaking employees. Personally after being there nearly 3 yrs... I wouldnt make this a career just a stepping stone.

This place was great 2 years ago,but with all the new management and “directors” its sinking They bring about new ideas that have no training with them and they dont see the repercussions of the ideas they implement.Im all for safety but when the new safety policy goes out “safety dept” isnt there to see how it all plays out if it even helps or if it just make our overall workload worse. They hired a bunch of stoughton trailer rejects that have no idea what theyre even doing,they just roll out new safety policies and rules that make the job 10x harder and more frustrating just so they look like they are doing a good job.

ran the paint line so had to wash load paint unload then assemble generators. Also ran the general fabrication area and included setting up of cnc machines and loading programs into them as well. Had to run saws and punches as well as brake presses and drills daily. Read a blueprint each and every part that was made. Most of the management was very willing to help and the hardest job was dealing with all the heat inside the paint booth and oven. The most enjoyable part was always having work to stay busy at all times and was cross trained in many different areas.
