What is the best part of working at the company?
Free perks for working onsite.  They provide breakfast and lunch and have an onsite gym and pool. They are a midsize pharma company.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The identity of the company is not clear.  They are a pharmacetuical company that doesn't develop pharmaceuticals.  Researchers with drug development backgrounds will not thrive and will become frustrated by decisions that are made by upper management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is good; employees want to be successful and pull together to move forward with the decisions upper management makes no matter how frustrating or nonsensible they are.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Employees are rewarded for a job well done as long as you go with the questionable decisions. It is daily struggle to be an individual thinker, especially if you have previous experience at other pharma companies.

The management does not lead the team and does not set heir employees up for success. Ideas are not taken into consideration and important questions are not answered. What is expected of you is not communicated and then when you do what you think is best for the team because you have no instruction you are told your way is wrong with no feedback. There is blatant favoritism shown from management and it has been said if you do not play into the favoritism you will not excel at the company. It is very disorganized and there is no progress toward improvement. Management talks about employees they do not like to other employees of the group making a toxic and stressful environment because you do not know if you will do something and management will retaliate.

United Therapeutics is an amazing company focused on the cure for hypertension of the lungs. This company takes time to hire the right person for its mission and culture. It has been a wonderful place to work each day. Every person from senior leadership down lives and breathes great character and heart! Everyone at UT works in a collaborative manner, supportive of one another and in line with the overall goals of the organization. United Therapeutics provides a great work life balance, promotes healthy living habits and brings out the best in its work family!  UT has it right- from the top down!

Pros
The cafeteria is excellent and inexpensive, and the 401k matching is absolutely unheard of (in a good way). On-site amenities such as gym and pool are nice. Great daycare program. Work-life balance is excellent. Salaries range from excellent to poor, depending on your position. The CEO is truly inspirational, and there is a top-to-bottom feeling of contributing to a worthy cause.
Cons
Based on my experiences with hiring practices, where you start is where you're going to be for the foreseeable future. There is no development plan put into place, nor is it encouraged by management (and sometimes it is discouraged) to develop skills or take on challenges outside of your silo.

This job started off being great for someone who was looking for a job. After about three months of working at the company, I was looking elsewhere. Management refuses to take any advice from employees who voice their issues with the company and the culture. United Therapeutics forces a 45-hour week minimum. The company is filled with lots of micromanagers at every level. They like to act like they have this google type of vibe, but really most people are displeased and miserable with their positions. The only nice thing was free lunch and a 20% bonus (assuming the company did well enough to allow for a 20% bonus) Most positions have limited or even no vertical movement.

Most managers and HR have favorite employees which isn't based on expertise, work ethic, or values. Nepotism is out of control; some interns work hard but most are childten of employees, they earn paychecks for minimal effort if any. These impact promotions, bonuses, and treatment of decent employees. Most employees below management level are easy to work with and down to earth, but snobs rarely get put in their place and bullying is a problem that isn't dealt with. Described as a toxic work environment by some medical professionals, mentors, and executive coaches outside the organization. 

This is a great company full of great people working towards a great cause, all while having a good time. While working here I learned a lot about PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension) and the ways of treating it. The management at UT is some of the best I've seen. Also the people that I worked with were some of the nicest and hardest working that I've met. The hardest part of the Job is having to change direction with little notice. The most enjoyable part of the job is the one that you get to work with.

The whole company is focused on providing the best working atmosphere which, in turn makes for a highly productive work force.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The position I held was not stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company is great to work for. People are super friendly and it is DEI centered.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me was one focused on completing the tasks at hand that were needed to complete my project.

The first thing that stuck me when I started working at United Therapeutics is the culture and absolute dedication to accomplishing the overall mission of saving lives. In my case I am working on making donated organs more available. It is such a unique job. Everyone here is excited to be working on this and they are happy at work.  I have worked at several large companies and start ups and have not seen this type of work environment before.  I love it here.

It is a beautiful place to work, but the management is terrible. The favoritism is running in all department. The supervisor can be a theft and didn't know anything but just running his mouth when equipment has trouble he would assign to the employees and when things get done he would start his mouth and act like he already knew the problem can be fixed by himself. Hope company would act as quick as possible as those people currently take advance of the favoritism.
