Just ask them about their staff turn over rate and that should be enough to tell you this is such a toxic place to work on so many levels that very few people stick around longer than a year or two. Zero work life balance. They care only about billing and how much money you can make them, not about patient care. They certainly care nothing about their employees other than they realize they (providers) are their cash cows, and they are treated as such. They give you “paid sick and vacation” but actually management asks you to “make up” for those days off by working extra on other days so it’s not actually paid time off at all. There were also so many bait and switches when I was there - regarding pay, bonuses, benefits, pay for mileage, etc, I could not keep track of how many times something was promised me then taken away without explanation. There was rarely any transparency regarding decisions that heavily impacted their staff. 

I have never regretted my decision to leave this company and I am so happy in my new place of work now (doing the same kind of work but in an amazing culture!). If you love wound care but value work-life balance and desire support/intelligence in your work environment I highly recommend finding a different wound care company for which to work.

UWH is a small company. Benefit offerings are not as comprehensive as I've had with previous employers, but based on company size , I feel they offer quality health care benefits.

My position is on the office team. I work remotely at home M-F and only go into the office 2-3 times a month to take care of mail and the bank deposit. I work claim denials, zero pay EOBs, rejected claims, overpayments, refund requests, and appeals. Since I started I have increased my knowledge of wound care procedures and the billing requirements to send out clean claims. There is awesome communication between management and the employees. I feel my input is always welcome. If you work here you will see that the culture is amazing and that people really care. Management has gone out of their way to show employees that they are concerned about bettering the work environment and processes to prevent burn out. The hardest part of the job is when I can't get a denial overturned or a patient has to take on a large balance because of payer policy. The best part of my job is to see the number of wounds being healed! Second to that would be when a denied claim is overturned and paid.

I would say it’s refreshing working for my current employer. When our leaders say they care, there is actual evidence to back it up  – like how they listen to us and use our feedback, how they work quickly to help us when things don’t go right, and yes, they pay us well. All the leadership and employees truly care about the work and each other. The thing that has impressed me the most, is how leadership really listens and responds to concerns, and if they cannot change something, they are good about explaining why. They also have a low tolerance level for toxic employees, which is something I appreciate. Healthcare is a hard industry in and of itself and it’s nice that my employer only retains individuals who are willing to lend a helping hand and who build each other up – rather than create drama.  At first it felt like I took a bit of a risk getting on board with such a young company, but I’m glad I did. They have a great work culture and great prospects for growth.

Coming from past offices, working here has been a breath of fresh air. I've never personally been treated by an office, nor worked for an office that goes above and beyond to ensure that our patients are taken care of both physically and financially. Patient care is number one no matter what comes up. 

I have seen this company grow substantially since coming on. With this has come many changes, some much more painful than others but there is never a lack of effort being made by the company to show appreciation to the employees, ask for feedback, or even send a thank you package in the mail. Not only have I watched the company grow, I've grown with the company and I 've watched others grow within the company. Having an education benefit as well as being reached out to regarding classes, webinars or even online articles is just a few of the ways that UWH works hard to invest in the employees here. This is not a career I ever thought I’d enjoy. Who likes wounds? Apparently I do!  This career is 10% wound care, 10% travel and 80% people/communication. Building wound teams and being able to go to different skilled nursing facilities keeps me on my toes. I have enjoyed the autonomy and the wonderful support that UWH provides to all of its staff. Excellent pay and great work-life balance.  The company continues to grow, but the same original drive and motivation persists, “Take care of our patients and the rest will fall into place.” Highly recommend UWH!

Heal, educate, and protect is what UWH is all about. I am so grateful to be a part of a company who stands by their mission, and who day after day is making a difference in the lives of the patients we treat. I am surrounded by an amazing group of colleagues who give their all constantly and stand true to our mission. Our management team is excellent. They always make you feel valued and are truly receptive to feedback for process improvements. There is no other company I would want to work for.

United Wound Healing is a new and growing company. This presents some unique challenges but is an exciting opportunity for people willing to stretch and grow. The leadership is always trying new things to improve the company and our jobs. The people that work for United Wound Healing are some of the best around. I can see it getting better and better as they work out the kinks and inefficiencies that happen when you are new and growing. I would highly recommend them.
