There is favoritism and drama on the lake Norman team. The promise you full time and talk to you as if you better be available but, don’t always produce full time. Rules always changing. Not enough cultural diversity in the Cornelius office. They give same Cna constant PTO almost weekly. Some of their Nurses talk about cnas to patients and family of patients, and to facility workers. Very unprofessional. Confidentiality is not recognized. If they don’t like you supervisors will pick with you till you want to quit. They allow some of their cnas to get away with whatever. When they don’t like you your schedule will reflect part time while other cnas have 5 and 6 patients they will tell you it’s because patient care low instead of balancing out schedule. They don’t like giving you joints! They will treat you like a float Cna and just have you covering for staff on PTO. The drama and politics of the job takes away from patient care centered care. It’s all about keeping a building for profit. The position as a Cna doesn’t pay enough and PTO policy is outrageous. This job is false advertisement. I cannot stress that there needs to be more cultural diversity in the work office of that team. The undertone feels racially driven at times. They use intimidation when talking to you. Needs to really be addressed and the militate they pay they think your privileged to get when it’s not a lot and only paid once a month. The pay verses what you pay to Maintain your vehicles afford gas and being able to live off the hrly salary doesnt math. This job was truly a learning experience. Only Pro was my family members loving on me! Most cnas have to work a second job.  This has been truly an experience. 

I found this company to lack culture, innovation, and fairness from an internal perspective. However, staff that interacts directly with patients provide excellent care which benefits the great reputation HPCCR upholds.  The organization is constantly in a state of change which is with good intent. Unfortunately, the change is reactive instead of proactive. HPPCR lacks transparency regarding business affairs (which affect employees) and unfairly pay lower level employees (by combining positions like housekeeper, Cook, and CNA). The company also lacks diversity at all levels.  They have retained staff for years but seem to have higher turnover with new employees. Promotion opportunities seem solely based on the company's staffing/profit needs rather than being fairly distributed because of individual employee performance, training, data-driven results, or growth potential. I would recommend the company as a stepping stone with hopes that things will get better. There's a lot of potential for change. It is truly personally rewarding to work for nurses and providers who do their very best to provide exceptional care.

Check emails and discharge deceased/discharged patients from system. Enter order strings for clinical staff to chart their patient visit. Run orders and Plan of Treatments and mail to Physicians for signatures. Track orders to assure orders has been checked in. Check in all orders and file/scan into the electronic records. Run daily reports for the Team Managers.  Cover front desk when needed for lunches and vacations. 
I have learned a lot about customer service rather its patients or staff.  Medical Record compliance.  How to communicate with providers. 
Our workplace culture is very strong in Leadership, and customer service to our patients.  We are Mission Driven and provide our patients with excellent care. 
Hardest part of my job is tracking orders for return. Providers have 30 days to return Plan of Treatments. Tracking and getting them returned can sometime be a challenge. 
I enjoy knowing that I have helped patients in a small way. I have enjoyed solving problems and working with my co workers.

I had worked at VIA health partners for the past almost 4 years as an RN. I really enjoyed working for the company for the majority of this time and always highly recommended it for others to work there. A typical caseload for an RN is 13-15 patients with the goal of completing 20 visits per week. The nurses/coworkers always work really well together but lately everyone has been very overworked. Just like most places, they are understaffed. There have been a lot of back office changes and unfortunately the management changes were the final decision in my leaving the company. There was a major lack in communication, I felt like more of a number instead of as an actual person. There are still some good people who work there who I will greatly miss, but overall the company is going downhill and doesn't appreciate it's workers anymore. Although the pay is decent, it is also way less than other companies in the area.

I have been with VIA over 18 years and have enjoyed going to work every day.  My fellow co-workers are all amazing people.
There have been some big changes within the organization that have  impacted the clinical teams while creating opportunities for administrative staff.  Lots of these changes are growing pains so VIA can remain a viable non-profit organization.
I support our commitment to supporting all patients as they approach their end of life.   I have to say the changes are the hardest part of working at VIA, but I personally have an excellent supervisor who is a great leader!  This makes the changes go much smoother.  There are lots of people who have been with VIA 10 plus years and choose to see the positive and work through the difficulties.  

A typical day at work with Hospice included setting up a schedule with patients I was assigned to see that day by phone.  I would drive to each location and spend about 1 hour with that individual.  The Branch Manager at the Davidson office was an excellent Leader and Manager.  My co-workers were excellent to work with as well.  Most times I did work alone, but whenever I needed to have a co-worker assist me they were always available.  The hardest part of the job was that after a certain period of time you have to say good-bye to this person who you have come to know and that was always hard.  The most enjoyable part of my job was everyday was an opportunity to help and serve someone who was in a position of helplessness and they were always very appreciative of my assistance.

There are constant, poor, knee-jerk decisions made by management without listening feedback from frontline staff. Changes are not clearly or completely communicated, which makes doing your job difficult and frustrating. Management allows certain staff to get away with not doing their work, or mistreat others. 

Employee feedback is only entertained from a select few. Lots has changed in way of the culture due to management changes, but for the worse. Countless employees that were with the company for over a decade have left over the past year. Definitely not the great company it once was. 

When I first started working for this company I felt I was appreciated and valued as an employee. However with management changes this soon changed. You are just a number to them and they pile on more and more patients to your caseload without every acknowledging you needing help. They are out for whatever makes them more money not what is best for the patients or the employees. When I vocalized needing help it put a target on my back and I was soon pulled in to several meetings finding minute things I needed to improve on. The schedule once was very flexible but that is not true any longer either. I would not recommend working for this company. I am currently looking for other employment. 

I have learned how incredibly important hospice is, for both a patient and family.The end of lifet is the most intimate and vulnerable time for them. To be able to support them is humbling and it is a privilage . I like to be part of a team that supports all of it's members. The most difficult part of the job was to keep from feeling ill with all of the odors that 
are encountered. My solution, breathing through my mouth. Please know that this response is not meant to be flip, just truthful.
For me the most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that I was able to help someone to be more at ease, to be relieved, to feel comfort.

VIA is the best organization I have worked for. Strong leadership with a vision for growth and a willingness to spend on tools to accomplish goals. Lots of autonomy and no micro-management. The organization is comprised of high-achievers who pride themselves on making the patient, not money, the priority. Excellent onboarding experience for new hires with ample time to ramp. Senior leadership appreciates new ideas and backs positive change. The HR team is always trying to better the lives of all staff.
