I worked as a BHT at Viamar for  8 months, starting when I was 18 years old. My experience at this clinic was beyond unacceptable, both as an employee and based on what I observed regarding patient care.

The working conditions were appalling. The clinic was consistently understaffed, forcing employees to juggle an impossible number of tasks during grueling 12-hour shifts. Staff were expected to push multiple wheelchairs, assist patients with high needs, and complete hundreds of tasks without adequate help or resources. The environment was disorganized and chaotic, with no clear structure or meaningful support for staff. The lack of cleanliness throughout the facility including both the residential and treatment areas added to the stress

Management came across as unprofessional and often appeared to operate on favoritism rather than fairness or respect. After I was involved in a car accident, I was repeatedly asked to provide an incident report over the course of several weeks, even though it didn't seem necessary or relevant. This created unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. Ultimately, I was let go over text a month earlier than expected, which felt abrupt and unprofessional. This experience only reinforced my impression of how poorly the clinic treats its staff. I felt completely unsupported and unfairly treated and this disregard for employee well-being was a consistent theme.

During Covid-19 outbreaks, staff were expected to work with infected patients, even when they voiced valid concerns about their own safety. While this may have been part of the job description, the lack of additional support or accommodations for these situations felt dismissive of staff well-being. This attitude toward health and safety raised serious concerns about the clinic's priorities.

I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone whether you're seeking treatment or employment. The practices, environment, and management were not just inadequate; they were harmful. Save yourself the time, money, and stress, and look elsewhere.

I am writing to formally document concerns regarding my experience with this organization. During my time there, I observed a lack of organizational structure, limited onboarding, and insufficient training, which contributed to unclear job expectations and challenges in performing effectively.
Workplace culture was also a concern. Communication from leadership at times felt unprofessional and unsupportive, and management practices were highly restrictive, limiting autonomy in team leadership. Additionally, there appeared to be a pattern of high employee turnover, which affected team stability and continuity of care.
I also have concerns regarding transparency in hiring practices. The role appeared to function as temporary coverage, though this was not clearly disclosed during the hiring process. Furthermore, there were noticeable patterns of favoritism within leadership, including the presence of close personal or familial relationships, which may impact fairness in decision-making.
There were also instances and patterns that raised serious concerns about potentially discriminatory or racially motivated behavior, which contributed to an uncomfortable and inequitable work environment.
Lastly, I found that compensation and support did not align with the workload and expectations of the role.
I believe these concerns warrant review to ensure a more equitable, transparent, and professionally supportive workplace for current and future employees.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to do thorough research before accepting a position. My experience was challenging due to a lack of organization and structure within the treatment center.

While there is a significant workload, compensation and support may not always align with expectations.
