I am happy working with the Valir PACE program and being part of a team committed to serving underserved, medically complex older adults. The program’s mission-driven approach makes a meaningful difference for participants who often face multiple chronic conditions, limited resources, and significant social challenges. It is fulfilling to work in an environment that prioritizes dignity, independence, and whole-person care for seniors who might otherwise be overlooked.
Valir PACE strongly emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together providers, nurses, therapists, social workers, and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. Team communication is encouraged, and everyone’s input is valued when developing care plans tailored to each participant’s unique needs. I have enjoyed working at Valir.  I appreciate that I am able to manage my department with autonomy and leaders trust me to do the right thing.  They support me whenever I need it.  This is definitely a place that is growing and changing, but that is exciting because it calls for people to get creative and problem solve.  If you like that kind of thing, then this is a great place to be.  If you just want to show up and have someone tell you what to do, this is probably not the best place for you.  There is a lot of gray area where you have to figure it out - I personally enjoy that but it works with my skillset, personality, and position.

I have reported to a few different leaders over my tenure and I have always felt valued, appreciated, and like I mattered.  I particularly enjoy that I have some flexibility.  The current leadership team is by FAR the best group I have seen over my 5 years.  I feel like joining Valir in 2025 is the best, and the best is yet to come.

I hope to be able to work for Valir for many years to come.  It is a very unique place to work.  I enjoy that I am able to support the elderly in a way that makes a difference.

This is an okay organization with the potential for greatness.  The pro's are that the company genuinely cares about those who it serves, and a team that pulls together in a crisis. They understand and prioritize the care of those in their charge.  The negative is that a culture that encourages positivity, honesty, or structure is virtually non-existent.  Training, is learn as you, that pay is adequate however expect to have to work off the clock to complete everything you will be held accountable for.  This is a double-edged sword, this lack of training literally culls the weak from the herd. Consequently, it also burns out very talented and passionate people who feel they lack the support to thrive as opposed to simply surviving from Mon-Fri. Overall, the people (both the patients and staff) make up for the lack of training and structure. You won't find a better team in Oklahoma.  The general takeaway from this is that there is a LOT of room for this organization to grow, both in staff and structurally that would honestly make this a top-tier organization.

I've had a fantastic experience since joining Valir. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported by both my team and leadership. The company genuinely cares about its employees, offering a healthy work-life balance, transparent communication, and real opportunities for career growth.

Work-life balance
They expect you to be on call at all times, even if you’re hourly. And they won’t pay you for being on call “at all times” if you’re not a precious nurse.

Management
Management is a joke. They never cared about their employees. They are in a little clique and act like their in high school. They did highly unethical stuff and just wanted everyone else to roll with it. How do you sleep at night, management?

Culture
Toxic! Draining.

Overall
This place is toxic. Management is a clique and acts like they’re in high school. They only care about themselves and will throw you under the bus to save themselves. They did some of the most unethical stuff and just want you to do it and not say anything. If you said something, you would get in trouble. Coworkers would talk about you behind your back.

Valir has invested in me time and again.  Senior management values hard work, problem solving, and innovation and tend to promote from within.  They've provided me with many learning opportunities on their dime to help develop my career.  They recognize flaws within management and strive to correct and adjust.  We've gone through a lot of big changes to improve care for our participants and senior management is encouraging and supporting staff to move to a more patient-centric model.  PACE is the most complex system of healthcare I have ever worked in and there are a LOT of moving parts.  It is a delicate ballet to get all of the parts working together but we have a team of caring individuals that are dedicated to enriching the lives of our participants.

Leading a team at Valir PACE has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I have the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated, compassionate, and talented professionals in the industry. They show up every day with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of our participants, and that energy is contagious.

The support from leadership is strong, and the culture here values collaboration, creativity, and a shared commitment to our mission. It’s a fast-paced environment, but having a team that genuinely cares about our work makes every challenge feel worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my brief experience with Valir and would recommend them without hesitation. Management was excellent, co-workers enjoyable to work alongside and our senior clients were a pleasure to get to know. Valir offered excellent benefits which included paid holidays and a fantastic lunch program. I regret leaving this great company. If you are offered a position with Valir, consider yourself very fortunate.

Waiting for the other foot to drop amd administration to come up with yet another thing we are doing wrong while they gave us the direction to do things that way in the first place but will not take any responsibility.
