Laboratory Management is poor. From Director , Manager and Supervisor is needed a change of Management. They fired the fulltime and contract employer and giving a bad records or not eligible to hired. That's why they always have vacancy all the time. Attention to new Techs - MT, MLT , Phlebotomist never apply to this Valley lab facility coz will missed up youre Profession . They will put you in trouble . Good Luck !!! But I  guarantee that Lab employee is leaving the Valley Lab Facility because poor leadership , scheduling, workload and contracts / traveler they will fired / discontinue the contract anytime once hired a new employee or Per diem . Giving you bad feedback / negative evaluation.  The CEO Hospital should change the new Management starts from Laboratory Director- no knowledge regards to Lab and compassion Laboratory Staff.  The Managers and Lead should eliminated coz favoritism . Its should lab employee will report  to  Director  and Supervisor . No Managers and Leads . The Director and Manager removed H20 cups and no coffe ...its only free water from the toilet . Busy Facility no time for comfort room

Culture is terrible and soul crushing. The Management that is currently there are the same two people who have been there for over 15 yrs. Very High turnover. Even though you are a salaried worker, you get treated like an hourly worker. They track your lunch breaks on Lync Messenger to see how long you have been away. They sprinkle in Jeans Days as a way to boost morale. Certain favorite employees get away with more. Management very old school and is not receptive to ways of being more efficient. They handled Covid-19 very poorly. Nobody was allowed to work from home even though Corporate employees were allowed. We were asked to do inventory at the hospitals when Covid was starting in March 2020 but nobody wanted to because of safety concerns. Alot of inefficient busy work. They have recently implemented a trial period of flexible scheduling by working four ten hour days per week to stem the rise in turnover. Also, have hinted in a trial period of checking out laptops a couple days a month. The general consensus among the employees is that they will do away with flexible scheduling and go back to the way it was.

TYPICAL DAY IS STARTING THE MORNING WITH PATIENT VALUABLE COLLECTIONS FROM OUTPATIENT SURGERY'S. SECURING THE ITEMS IN THE SAFE FOR THEM UNTIL AFTER THE SURGERY PROCEDURE.  DEALING WITH THE PSYCH. PATIENTS, SOMETIMES PATIENTS GET COMBATIVE WITH THE RN'S AND STAFF. SECURITY'S JOB IS TO HELP DESCALATE THE SITUATION AND PLACE THE COMBATIVE PATIENT INTO RESTRAINTS IF DIRECTED BY THE RN STAFF.  YOU HAVE GREAT STAFF AND COWORKERS TO WORK WITH. EVERYONE WANTS TO DO THERE JOB AND GO HOME SAFELY AT THE END OF THE DAY WITHOUT INJURY. DEALING WITH THE COMABTIVE PATIENTS IS THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOB. HOSPITAL PROVIDES YOU WITH NO TOOLS IN DEALING WITH COMBATIVE PATIENTS. THEY CAN HIT, KICK, AND SPIT ON YOU,  AS A STAFF MEMBER HOWEVER ADMINISTRATIONS WANTS YOU TO TAKE IT AND DETAIN THE COMBATIVE PATIENT.  WORKING WITH GOOD COWORKERS IN THE SECURITY DEPARTMENT AND GOOD RN AND STAFF MEMBERS IN THE E.R. IS THE ENJOYABLE PART OF THE JOB.

The average work day in the recovery room expects 20 to 30 surgical patients made up of outpatients, inpatients, and a few patients expecting to go to the Intensive Care Unit after recovering. Additionally, there are about 10 patients having endoscopic procedures.  The recovery room staff is a very  cohesive unit helping each other as much as possible. The 4 - 6 nurses on duty alternate taking patients to provide each nurse an opportunity to stabilize the patient before getting another one. The hardest part of the job is holding patients for up to 12 hours while waiting for room assignments. This aggravates patients and their families because there is no space to hold patients and their families for extended periods in the recovery room.

A typical day can start out slow and ramp up. Depending on what co-workers that were on for the day guided the mood. Multiple fast-track patients, mental health, and some emergent care. 
 Management lending a hand on the unit when needed. I had great managers in the Emergency Room. They were able to pull people together to get what needed to be done, done.
Work place culture could be hostile at times. Sometimes a lack of coordination with staff and management made things difficult. Staff would not ask for help and try to stay out of site working on their own due to the hostile environment. Several clickish relationships between immediate supervisors and staff caused issues.
The hardest part of the job-During times of high volumes and watching staff sit and keep their eyes down to avoid client interactions while other staff were very busy.
Most enjoyable part of my job was my job. I love being a nurse and doing what I do.

Benefits are great. Department teams are very team oriented. VHS creates a happy environment however not all employees are happy which is also to be expected. They care about patient satisfaction.
Employee satisfaction seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum as there are a lot of key departments that are lacking additional staff causing staff to turn over frequently and you are left with a lot of work to catch up on. This leads to employee burn out.

Cut backs with employees seem to occur anywhere from 2-3 years on average.

VHS sticks to their standards for their mission and values and do strive for the best health outcomes highlighting their efforts on patients first.

Everyday at Valley was different, different patients and situations, management was usually unclear because of constant change in supervisors but they were all approachable and talkative.  Co-workers were amazing because everyone knew everybody and there was a strong sense of sportsmanship. The hardest part of the job was staying in 1 room with 1-2 patients and if the floor got busy, the CNAs and RNs were unable to relieve you for breaks throughout the 12 hour shifts.  The most enjoyable part of the job was helping people who are unable to help themselves, talking with patients who have nobody to come visit them and knowing you made a difference in their stay.

VHS is more about getting every dollar as a private hospital. There system is outdated so it makes all staff have to work harder. There are so many patients and not enough staff. On top of that they pay less they pay the less of all Las Vegas hospitals and give you more work. Management has no care for their employees. Patients are treated poorly as is staff. For employees that work there for a long time its only because they are complacent. That and if you are not a brown noser for management  you are not subject to any fairness. There are cliques no matter the department. This is all because there is no control or discipline with management.

Direct administrative oversight of facility wide security staff, procedures, policies and global monitoring to assure the safety of patients, visitors and staff. Direct application of cardiology diagnostic testing.

Through management training I have learned an abundant amount of knowledge that will help me throughout my profession years.

Hardest part of the job is not enough time with the patients and the most enjoyable part of the job is spending time with patients and giving me the attention and hug if needed.

The first few years.
After that it went downhill 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All departments understaffed. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile. They are not staffing enough RNs to help the IV push medication on the floors and on top of it they spread the charge nurse over 3 or 4 floors and they are not hardly available for all the needs of nurses

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I’ve never had to endure a concentration camp…I’m sure that is truly a hard thing people have endured. It is gut wrenching exhausting!!!
