They need to offer better pay as well as better screen employee interviews, that is what the patients and staff deserve. They do not take care of their loyal employees, despite having extremely high turnover and being short staffed. There were a lot of major changes in policy over a short amount of time that was uncomfortable and unfair, and the employees that remained flexible were not compensated, or even valued, for that.
I was disappointed with the lack of care I saw on children's and geriatric units. I think that is a very sad, typical corporate model to make the most money possible. Profits are above all, including safety and patient wellbeing. 
I don't feel the pay compensates for the amount of environmental hazards you are exposed to on the job. The facility is filthy. Expect to be exposed to bed bugs, lice, viruses, and potential physical harm from patients.
I loved my coworkers and the patients, I was sad to leave but unfortunately the pay was not worth the risks I took at this job.

This is a company that really strives to put their people first.  I have worked for several healthcare organizations in Northwest Arkansas and VP is one of the best at  taking care of their employees as much as possible.  The work is rewarding and the people are all caring and helpful.  This job offers a lot of opportunities to learn more about healthcare, and in particular, mental health.  This company puts forth great effort to bring awareness and support to the community.  Some days can be stressful, but the support from the team makes this a great place to work.  The hardest part of the job, as with any healthcare field, is that there are some long days that seem like they may never end, but the most enjoyable part is that the people working alongside you are pleasant, professional and willing to do what it takes to care for not only patients, but each other. 

Ive worked at 3 facilities as an adult psych nurse. This is by far the worst job ive ever had. Why is it the worst you ask? Management. They talked to the bhts very unprofessionally and disrespectfully. Threatened my nursing license with the board when i asked for more staff. They do not grasp how to properly staff units at all. The management is the same, they just fired their DON and CEO and replaced them by promoting the incompetent ADON and hired a CEO in which this is her first CEO position. 

I do not recommend applying here unless desperate. They are in dire need of RNs so if you have a discipline on your license you will get a job here. But watch your back with management or you most definitely will he threatened with the board,  understaffed, talked to poorly, new expectations of your position on a weekly basis, no staff meetings, put in dangerous situations for both staff and patient.

Oh my where to begin. I only lasted a month. You have absolutely no support from management. Everything is always dirty. So short staff that it is impossible to establish a meaningful and productive connection with patients. Mandatory over time and they will still call you in and guilt trip you for saying no. They apply tactics to discourage you from taking time you. It’s up to the individual employees to find cover for their shifts. Did I mention that everything is dirty? You will get 20 patients and maybe two people. Anything corner that can be cut to save money at the expense of the workers. There’s a reason why this place is notorious and has a bad reputation. The stories are real!! Adolescent unit needs complete overhaul.  No support from management on rehab units. You are there to serve. I could go on but you have heard 100 times. Just don’t do it.

It takes a special person to work in a mental health setting, and this is something you should consider before applying here.  My personal experience was not great.  I was misled about my required work hours.  I was astonished at the price of the health insurance.  I was dismayed at how the PTO was divided up ( sick time, vacation time and extended sick time).  I accepted the job with a HUGE cut in pay from anything I had experienced in the Fayetteville job market.  I was amazed at the turn over and lack of support from management. 
There are few on the management team that care.  Very few.  For the most part I found most (not all) of HR rude, most of nursing management curt, and most of therapy aloof.  I was appalled at not being able to use sick time the week surrounding a holiday.

Working here was not only stress-free but also provided a great environment that fostered creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. The supportive atmosphere encouraged open communication, making it easy to share ideas and feedback without fear of judgment. This positive culture contributed significantly to both professional development and job satisfaction, creating a sense of belonging and motivation among team members. The company's commitment to work-life balance further enhanced the overall experience, ensuring that employees felt valued and respected. With a focus on employee well-being, the workplace became a source of inspiration, driving innovation and excellence across all aspects of the organization.

Changes in supervisors and hours worked.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It changed as supervisor changed; going from friendly, positive, and uplifting to a culture that was the opposite. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For one year I did assessments in the inpatient facility and almost two years I planned and developed a curriculum for senior adults; providing group therapy using innovative strategies using music, art, and movement.

When I first started, I really liked it there. You could tell the staff genuinely cared for the patients. There were some good coworkers, majority of them were friendly. After a bit, micromanaging became completely overwhelming. Upper management who came in the unit would just tell you what you were doing wrong, as if they had no responsibility to give you resources to manage your unit. It was evident they want admissions over staff and patient safety. They love to pack a unit full, they want those dollars. Many people I worked with  quit over safety issues. They pretend safety is priority , but it’s not. A lot of the staff is travel because they can’t keep staff. 

Working at Vantage Point Behavioral Hospital was a good life learning experience. It has helped to understand people and illnesses. I would work with ages 5 to elderly. We would have to go through a schedule everyday for the clients that'd be admitted. There were some challenging days where clients would get upset and staff had to call a code through the intercom for people to rush to help claim them down. We'd have different codes for different reasons. There are several specialist around the hospital we do have a chain of command between employees. For me the hardest part were the heartbreaking story's of clients. I enjoyed helping them get well.

It is a good place to work for people who are controlling and power hungry and know how to play the game.  
The place is the most sloppily organized company I have ever worked for.
The only valued input is from management as the employees are not allowed to contribute ideas or suggestions.
Good employees are downtrodden as they are outnumbered by the bad employees who don’t want to be “shown up”.
