A typical day at work is to be engulfed in a magnitude of duties, more to support their representatives and the company, less pay than clerk deserves.
Training for this or any position is close to non-existent. This being a large company serving many locations across the country and to be responsible to make ones own training manual or hope the person before you left a quality self made handbook that reflects every learning styles mindset, but probably didnt have the time!!  Asking questions is sometimes tolerable but most departments are overwhelmed in work. 
Management or Individuals responsible to train you virtually with poor internet service and uprofessional code of conduct.
This companies expectation of perfection when they do not offer the tools for success across all departments is the WPAS culture. Management is overworked and too busy to properly oversee and ensure success of their own team.
Management should realize that the WPAS revolving door is reflective of such a poor learning and supportive atmosphere.  It could be a great place to work but no one likes or loves their position.
"Sink or swim without swim lessons or a flotation device," is a perfect statement.





I worked at WPAS as an accounts payable specialist and unfortunately had a very negative experience. Management was poor and communication across departments was inconsistent at best. There was no real structure or clarity around priorities — tasks were constantly shifting without explanation or guidance.

Training was virtually nonexistent, leaving new employees to figure things out through trial and error. Many of the accounting processes are outdated and inefficient, which adds unnecessary stress and confusion to daily work.

Work-life balance is almost impossible to maintain, and the overall culture is toxic. Some coworkers are more focused on self-preservation than teamwork, and it's not uncommon to see people thrown under the bus to protect others.

There are some good individuals trying to make things work, but the lack of leadership, organization, and accountability overshadows them. I would not recommend WPAS to anyone seeking a healthy or supportive work environment.

I genuinely loved this job and the work I was doing.  It was very engaging and there was a lot to learn, though there were some aspects that were harder to deal with than others.  I originally came on as a clerk, but was promoted to retirement representative within three months.

The downside is that they aren't always the best at filling positions.  One worker left my department in January of 2020, and they were completely unable to replace her even as late as July (the Pandemic probably didn't help).  This snowballed into the rest of the department having to take on her work, causing significant backlogs that we could never catch up on.

There also doesn't seem to be much room for advancement once you're a Retirement Rep.  A lot of my colleagues had been with the job for over a decade, but I felt like I was close to peaking with it after a year.   

The job is not impossible, but the training could be much better. They expect you to pick up things after one training session; which is fine for people who are like that. Not so great for those of us who need a little more training. 

The learning curve is incredibly steep and they only give you 90 days to completely pick up on it or they will terminate you. Like I said, the job itself is not difficult but the learning curve is especially considering there’s not much on hand training. Most of it you have to figure out yourself, if you’re unlucky. If you’re lucky you will have a team that supports you. That still doesn’t mean you will be performing to their satisfaction. Just because you think you’re doing good does not mean you are doing well. Even after having meetings with your supervisor. 

WPAS is probably the most amazing company I've had the pleasure to work for. Between the staff and my co-workers, it was a joy to go every day. My direct supervisor was terrific in her delegation skills. She trusted her people and gave me enough room to not only do my job, but to be creative, so I wrote manuals and discovered new ways to cut task-time. We were like a family and had a lot of fun pranking each other, while at the same time, supporting each other. Anyone fortunate enough to work here should learn from my mistake. I went for the big bucks for a different company, but sacrificed quality of life. Wish I'd never left.

I wouldn't recommend working here, the owners make it a miserable work environment. The business is run like a sweat shop. You're not allowed to talk or laugh. If you do, a supervisor will come practically running. Micro managing is rampant. Training is awful. If you make it through traimimg, you'll be so overloaded with work the stress will kill you. The pay is the only good thing about working here. It's a Union shop, currently on strike. Management is trying to bust the union. Strange for a company founded on support of union labor.

This place is a joke!!! Unprofessional workers, not to mention the upper leadership that continue to do the same old things and expect big results. The pay is awful and no resources to help you. They toss you in and you better do the job. The managers lead from their WA office and don't support you, assist but will tell you what you should be doing only when they're questioned to cover themselves. No management skills what so ever. All and all it is a bad place of employment! Don't waste your time and energy applying here. 

Employees are nice and friendly. It is a fun and professional environment. It is monotonous, but I like it that way. There is a cafe downstairs, that is good. One lunch a bunch of employees even went across the street to the Seattle Center amusement park and went on the water ride to cool down in the summer. Great location plenty of places to walk to during lunch. Parking garage is also available for employees.

It was an eye opener coming from defense contract background to a public sector. Rules change on a daily basis depending on who you are working with or being trained by.  Not really a lot of forward motion upwards in this company since a lot things are based on seniority and people who have been working here a long time don't leave.  Partially because they are scared to try something new.
