When they bought the company, they presented this loving company that wanted to do right by the residents. They wanted you to believe that “We Care”  meant they actually cared, but valuing profit over residents and employees is really their underling motive.  
Everything is cheap. The food is tasteless. The linen looks like something you’d see in a mechanics garage. The cleaning supplies aren’t working properly. Residents get the bare minimum for the amount they’re forking out, insurance or not. 
They don’t accept doctors excuses and expect you to work while you’re showing bad symptoms of Covid and the flu, and deny doctors excuses even if you have been admitted into the hospital for a serious health matter. They just write you up. So, you know, even if you drop dead you have to work.  They overwork the staff in all departments and make excuses for being short staffed, but want more residents admitted while being short on employees. 
The morale is zero to none. It’s a depressing, stressful, overwhelming environment that has seeped into every crack and will mentally ruin you from the inside out. 
When you have questions that need answered, no one knows a thing. The company won’t respond to emails or calls so you’re left to fend for yourself. When they took over, they didn’t have anything put together and had everyone freaking out over their job but, also, didn’t give any reassurance to anyones fear. 
They also promised a lot in the beginning but that’s a bunch of cow manure. 


I worked at this facility for several years in multiple roles, ultimately serving in a leadership position. During that time, I consistently fulfilled my responsibilities, including clinical oversight, infection prevention, and staff support.

Unfortunately, my experience with leadership raised serious concerns. There was a pattern of inconsistent policy enforcement, lack of communication, and selective accountability among staff. Situations involving scheduling, documentation, and incident reporting were not handled uniformly, which created confusion and, at times, an unprofessional work environment.

I also raised concerns regarding documentation practices and resident safety. Rather than being addressed constructively, these concerns were often ignored or met with increased scrutiny toward my role.

My termination was handled in a manner I found unprofessional. I received phone call regarding my termination, but when I attempted to return the calls shortly after, my number had been blocked. I later received notification via personal email. There had been no prior discussion of performance concerns or opportunity for clarification.

I am sharing this to encourage greater transparency, consistency, and accountability in leadership, as these are essential to maintaining both staff trust and quality resident care.


Throughout my short employment with this facility, it has been enjoyable. I've learned that some issues within this work environment are just part of the job. Such as your co-workers. Some are hard working go out of their way to help the residents and their co-workers. Others are there for a paycheck and benefits. The same goes for management. Some parts of management are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that issues are addressed and fixed. The hardest part of the job is knowing that you have done everything for the residents and knowing I did my job plus picking up someone elses slack. The most enjoyable part of my job, the reason I became an aide, the interaction and conversations with the residents. Seeing a smile on their face and/or hearing them laugh makes all the negative parts of the day worth it.

This company offers a ton of opportunity for advancement and personal/professional development!  The people are very supportive and positive!  There is so much opportunity for education and training, professional growth and building connections within the industry.  If I have a concern or issue I feel comfortable bringing it to management.  I have been able to advance within the company, they promote internal advancement over outside hiring whenever possible.  They offer mentoring from the highest level.  Healthcare can be challenging at the best of times, but it helps to have a local, regional and corporate team to lean on.

The location has potential but it's ridiculously hard to get anything done when they have everyone doing work outside of the scope of their position. There are shrinking budgets that make progressive movement impossible and there seems to be NO standards when they hire for any position, like they only want to put a body in a position no matter what. Ongoing poor work ethic and attitudes go unnoticed because it feels like nobody cares. This is frustrating to the good workers having to pick up the slack daily. There is no moving up and no incentive to stay. Great place to work if you have minimal standards for an employer because this place has minimal standards for the high turnover of employees. 

I started with Pennwood late summer '23, WeCare "took over" 11/1/23 and I haven't had any bad experiences.
The Administrator is fair and has tried to support my role the best he knows how, but the main focus is in nursing (AS IT SHOULD BE) but, I am not Nursing.
I genuinely do love it.
Not only have I been challenged both personally and professionally, but the support that I have with the other department Heads is unmatched! 
We truly are a TEAM and every single one of us in leadership have ONE common goal that our strive daily is and that is that our residents are healthy AND happy!
No, I'm serious, I am not just writing a bunch of nonsense, I truly feel as if I found longevity..... Finally! 

Well where should i start....i worked here for years watch it go from GOOD place to work now the worst place to work.....no communication...management sucks its all about them...work u short staff n think its ok...not treated fairly...if they like you, you can do know wrong.....dont care if you falling out sick or hurt continue want you to complete your assignment..not caring at ALL.     Work short staff they do not come to the floor n ask if u need anything...only time they help out is when STATE in the BUILDING after state leave they go back to their basic routine which is LAZINESS..
IF YOU WORK THEIR I GURANNTEE YOU'LL ONLY BE THEIR NO MORE THAN 6MOS....

This company doesn’t have any good parts.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
This company has high productivity requirements and the only treatment option they want you to do is ADL’s. It’s very limiting and they never seem to have enough hours for people. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
People there were very disgruntled, especially in nursing.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It would depend on how many patients I had. In rehab, you see your patients and go home. I rarely had 40 hours.

This company doesnt care about its employees only cares about how much profit they can make and staff is disposable. Paychecks are frequently short corporate doesnt respond to emails the upper mangement in the building has no clue whats going on especially in HR DON complains about staff getting overtime but we have no staff they say they are proud to be “agency free” but were also understaffed and the cnas are underpaid with no appreciation from upper mangement nurses usually have to help as cnas and we still dont make ratio even with their help 

Overseeing a number of disciplines, I had to be aware of all facets of the Facilities operation.  I learned about the rigors of daily productivity during staff shortages.  Management was consistent and workplace culture a mix of medical and facilities initiatives.  The hardest part involved scheduling and completing fire and emergency drills in a timely manner.  The enjoyable part of the job was working with other professionals to serve the elderly community.
