After working at Web for many years, I've observed a dramatic shift in its employee culture and management styles. Web has seen incredible growth over the past 2-3 years, taking on larger clients and making huge leaps; however, the operations managers they've placed over customer service were extremely poor choices. This company does not respect your expertise in your field; they want "yes men and women" to go along with every new directive. If you push back or even ask questions you will be labeled insubordinate. They are severely understaffed in customer service and refuse to hire new reps, instead they just trade reps around the company forcing them to quickly learn new complicated groups OR overwork the teams to their breaking point.
There is blatant favoritism that runs throughout Web, if you are not  already chosen then you will have a very hard time moving up or having a voice. 
They created a customer service bonus program, which was exciting, but then butchered it by making it nearly impossible to meet because too many reps were qualifying for the bonus. 
The vibes in the office have dropped off, there is very little "culture" left. It feels like you have to learn about new initiatives or company news through the grapevine. The lack of clarity when changes are made is beyond frustrating, The "why" is never given and they will leave you in the dark. 
Overall, WebTPA *was* a great place to work, however these past few years have been excruciatingly stressful.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
They hired me knowing id never done medical necessity before with software id never used before then gave me a person that was only available 3.5 hours a day to teach me and answer my questions then let me go after 60 days because i wasn’t learning fast enough. The person orienting me also had never oriented someone before.  Her answer to my questions often was “well you’ll just know. If you can’t find it then its not covered and deny it”

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I was working from home and didn’t have access to a preceptor the whole shift ever. Also my first 2 weeks was orientation to the software and the lady kept saying “this does the apply to you because your a nurse so just forget your a nurse for right now” then after 2 weeks my preceptor kept saying “no that’s what the coders do. You can’t think like A coder. you’re a nurse “. Wtf

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I liked that they had all kinds of little contests and gave prizes out.  In the 2 months i was there i won 2 contests. Too bad i didn’t win a good preceptor. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was a remote job so id get up and login. And review insurance plans and decide whether a procedure/service was medically necessary or not by looking at multiple insurance sites.

You find it’s a good place to work in the beginning. Once they have you in their pocket they put a load of work on you. They say use the chat for help but no one answers. If you fail to help the customer it falls on you which can lead to a “training” or “write up” which “falls off” in their own words. Yet when it does they have the “option” to bring it back and use it against you when you fail again. So in reality, it never goes away, you will always have it there lingering. In this case don’t make enemies with the bosses or managers, just do the extra work they give you even if this means no raise or extra pay because they will use those against you. It’s hard to get a raise also, for example; A coworker has worked there for 6+ years and has received a dollar raise in total. All due to the way the system is set up for attendance and stats on your calls. Which I explained before they “NEVER FALL OFF”. So from my experience I say enjoy your time but don’t get to comfortable, look for a secured job. God bless you 🙏🏼

WebTPA is all about working hard and playing hard. There is food and/or a party in the office at least twice a month and HR put on fun events for everyone during holidays. Most management will say "Hi!" to you in the hall. We have pride in how quickly we can provide for our clients and come up with solutions to unique problems the clients give us. 
As of right now what we lack is the IT support for all the business we are bringing in. There hasn't been any big system update and we are starting to see it in slower processing of certain programs and other processes that simply cannot be scaled up to the workload we have. We can get a solution out the door but it's not always efficient. 
This is a great company to work for and there is lot's of potential to experience all the working parts of benefit administration.

We worked with an intention strategy to exceed clients expectations.  My team (Provider Maintenance) was totally responsible for making sure that Provider contracts, fee schedules, updates and repricing was done with excellence and accuracy.

The entire culture of the company was like none other.  The President, VP and all CEO's knew you by name and showed a genuine interest in anything that was going on with you, personally.

Deadlines were probably the hardest part, however; there was always a process in place or implemented to meet those deadlines.

The most enjoyable part of the job was how the company recognized and rewarded our hard work and dedication.  The company's anniversary parties topped anything I've ever been a part of.

Originally I was excited to get this job.  The pay was pretty good and at that time it was WFH.  I was told before getting hired that this was a data entry position with occasional times on the phones.  Well, that was wrong.  It was all phones & very little data entry.  The training was ok, but don't feel like it was long enough.  Then one day I was thrown to the wolves & that's when the real problems began.  My trainer was listening to my conversations, but wouldn't offer help when she could hear that I was struggling.  The information I was expected to retain in just a few weeks was very overwhelming.  I could also sense that the company was full of cliques, & I was just an outsider.  Overall, I do not recommend this place due to all of the extra unnecessary stress.

I could not more highly recommend working for WebTPA. My overall experience was wonderful from start to finish. This is a place I genuinely believed I would work for the entirety of my career, however, I got an offer I couldn't refuse and had to end my time. But I would return in a heartbeat down the line if the opportunity presented itself. I worked my way up from entry level to middle management and had an overwhelming amount of support. Every manager and superior during my time here wanted to see me succeed and excel in my career and at the company. 

This is the most rewarding job I've ever worked.  This is the dream job because of the staff and type of work I did.  My eyes were opened to the world of analytics and reporting, and I hope to focus my career and continue my education in this area.  My boss was the most trustworthy, competent, humble, and professional boss I've ever worked with, and I've had the pleasure to work with a lot of good bosses.  I want to continue my career and obtain my BSN (30 hrs left) and pursue analytics/informatics.  The entire staff was competent and hard-working but also were very humble and truly enjoyed what they did.  I woke up every morning looking forward to just being the same room as everyone.

The Top Work Places 2022 is misleading. I started 2 weeks ago. I waited 3 weeks for my start date and there’s no training plan. My manager had me observing other teammates who I felt didn’t like training. Lots of confusion and chaos. First day in my department and the trainer constantly complained, putting a bad taste in my mouth. When I asked is there a training program, I was told “they are currently improving processes.” Everyone was nice but the pace wasn’t fast enough for me. It seems like a nice place to work and I understand they are updating policies and procedures. I wouldn’t waste my time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The company’s overall cultural value was very good. But the department I worked was horrible. I’m almost tempted to hire a labor lawyer to see if I have a claim. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The micro aggressions I encountered while working within the benefit coding analyst department. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The overall company has a great culture. The colleague’s from other departments were awesome. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The work day was steady nothing too bad.
