Let me start off with I have been with this company for years and moved around to different departments. The company has come under new leadership. Many promises were made that with the new crowd coming in it would benefit the production team and many of us had high hopes because the old leadership wasn't very good. I actually didn't think it was possible for it to be worse than it was before but I was so wrong. There's a reason the CEO has an approval rating of 30%. They fire people at random or move them around to "increase productivity and production margins" with little to NO warning and then don't backfill those positions. They have increased the expectations 10 fold on the technicians and could care less about work life balance. They make up positions to fool you into thinking you will be compensated fairly and then pile on many tasks that are not under your job description for a lousy amount of money. The constant saying is always to benefit the customer but this company is draining the life out of their workers and treating them like dogs. The company has turned into 90% management and 10% production and they wonder why we can't keep up with orders and then have the nerve to ask us how we can save more money. They just hired several 6 figure salaries and have done nothing to improve the labs in any way. The HVAC is always having issues and techs are forced to work in conditions that might as well be outside in the summer heat and humidity, then are told to fill out safety reports which get left unanswered. I feel as if they keep making decisions that make no sense because they literally have no idea what it's like to work in these labs under the constant pressure that they put on us. We don't need more "upper management" telling us what to do. There are many hard working underappreciated workers that get pushed to the side that have valid views and experience that this leadership obviously doesn't have. We need WAY better compensation for the extremely unrealistic expectations. These people that they hire for example "Manager of Continuous Improvement" is a disgusting waste of company assets and a slap in the face to the workers of this company. Looking forward to another year of no bonus and a flat 3% raise because that's what literally everyone gets. This is the leader of vet pharmacy ladies and gents and it is a shame we are on this pedestal.  One that is built on the backs of underappreciated, underpaid and overworked lab workers. Here's to another year of filling shareholders pockets. Cheers.

Training is terrible-different person everyday.  No consistency.  Call reviews on calls 4 to 5 calls out of hundreds taken. So called metrics held over you head.  Feels like you are in grad school, with class monitors watching you all the time.  

Have several different websites for an employee to monitor on what they do and if you went over on the time it took you to do it. While taking 1 call after another, with problems and complaints and an occasional good word from customers or management.

Expected to handle calls in a certain amount of time, and rapped up in a certain amount of time - all while playing children's games at work for managements amusement and working mandatory overtime, every week.  

Management like a 12 layer cake - so far away from the action they keep adding layers instead of getting to work on problem.  Don't listen to employees that have ideas- rather hire a consultant - and pay big bucks - to get same answers. Management always in meetings about problems and not solving them.

Get emails from management all day long-but we are not suppose to read emails while on the phone, about procedure, break and lunch changes, etc.  

Never have product, always out of stock- do not know when getting stock in.  Giving incorrect information to customer's - free shipping - all the time. Rep says 2 to 4 days to process- only to have customer contact us 5 days later and we haven't even started on medication making process yet.  

Getting too big -too fast.  Would rather make money- then actually care about customers and/or employees.  Management expects us to be happy or "Magic" or something - while in call center 8 out of 10 calls taken - we are being chewed out by customer's- we they can't get through on phones, can't get product out the door, haven't called customers back to tell them they product is delayed - or no longer available.  Have an outside calling system that calls customer back 2 weeks after customer not only placed their order, order shipped and delivered- to tell customers we have an order to fill for them.

Several great people still remain at company from years ago, that have been pushed to background, get feeling from company that only want to work with 20 something's for their teams and management.  Talk in the shop, believe management would rather burn the older employee's out, and force you to quit then even consider you might still have worth to the company and customer's.

I was excited to work this job because I was able to work from home, however my mind changed as the months passed. The six weeks of training was stressful because you had to learn a lot of information in a short amount of time. There were multiple tests that you had to pass, if you failed, you were terminated. The amount of information you need to learn for this job is ALOT given the amount of time you have to learn it. There are two types of calls to be answered; prescriber calls and petowner calls. I honestly think it would  be more beneficial to the company if those two types of calls were separated into two types of positions, given the amount of information you have to know for both. And you have a short amount of time to finish those calls if you are expecting to have high monthly scores. Incentives are given based on performance and performance is measured through monthly scorecards. The top performing employees get  incentives as well as those with good call reviews and the shortest phone calls….but those good scores felt unreachable and how closely you are monitored actually made the job more stressful, at least for me. The computer system the company uses could be updated and more beneficial to the workers. There are minor things with the system, that I feel in this day and age, shouldn’t be an issue but are. It definitely needs to be modernized. One of my main issues I have with this company is it’s inability to notify customers of delays and discontinued items. While they sometimes do notify customers, it’s often not in a timely manner, so you get a lot of calls with angry customers, and because it’s medication for sick pets you kind of feel worse about the pet owners situation as their screaming at you. There are minor things the company doesn’t do that would maybe knock some competitors out the park like weekend shipping and contacting vets for information and the ability to give pet owners pricing. There’s definitely improvement to be made. Overall, the people working here are very nice and managers help the best they can. 

A typical day in the general compounding lab at Wedgewood Pharmacy involves arriving, clocking in, changing into company provided scrubs, and heading to your respective laboratory to begin your shift. Once there, you will prepare your work station by cleaning it, stocking it, and asking your supervisor(s) for batch tickets which essentially tell you what you're compounding and what you'll need to do so. 

You get at least one 15 minute break, perhaps two, and a 30 minute lunch period. Usually, your entire shift takes these breaks at the same time. For the most part, your co-workers are friendly and supportive. However, things can be very cliquey, which can make it hard to fit in if you're new. 

For the most part, your shift supervisors will be okay. They're supportive and helpful, however they could learn to communicate with you more. 

Once you start, you'll be placed into a training program where a trainer basically supervises your initial few days in the lab. Typically, you'll have a few test samples you'll prepare before actually moving on to compounding actual orders. Trainers, I feel, should be more hands on with their trainees. For the most part, they let you go off on your own, while standing around and offering very little assistance or support. This may not be true for all trainers, but this was the case with the one I was assigned to.

If you happen to apply for one job, but are recommended to take on another during your initial phone interview, be highly aware of what you'll be getting into. The job you could end up taking may not be best suited for you, and you'll have to wait between 6 months to a year before being able to transfer internally. 

Overall, Wedgwood is a fairly decent place to work. However, it wasn't an ideal fit for me.

This place used to care about their employees. 
Sadly not the case anymore. Investors in the company change yearly. Management doesn't care about anything but "numbers and company need" anymore. Stay far away. Seriously. Far away. The turnover rate here is worse than any retail job. Employee safety doesn't matter. The training department sets new employees up for failure. Do NOT apply for any lab jobs. The labs are being run into the ground by poor management. Twice a year this place goes through a mass quit. And the people who do like the job suffer. They started micromanaging worse than Amazon, and it's worse than Amazon simply because supervisors are in charge of inputting your work productivity when they have zero clue what the techs do and how difficult things are.

Like supervisors looking for reasons to fire you?
Are you looking for a work environment where you get punished and never hear a single positive thing about your work ethic? 
Do you like drowning in Neverending work while being told you aren't doing well enough?
Want a job where politics matter more than work ethic?
And last but not least. If you sign up to come in for any hrs over your 40 and you are late or have to leave early you will get a written warning. 
If this sounds good, this is the place for you.
My advice is run away and never look back. Retail pharmacies will treat you better. 
The only benefit to this place is to put time in to get a machine operating job elsewhere because they pay their operations people $16 to 17 to start which is a joke. The OT is neverending. The place does not  understand what work life balance means. And they offer no incentive to working 8-12hrs mandatory OT. Working the mandatory 8 to 12hrs a week isn't horrible. It's doing it every single week with no end in sight. And if you don't work it, you will be threatened to be taken to  HR

I started here thinking it would be my dream job, decent pay, good benefits, and immediate PTO, but working here quickly turned into a nightmare. The supervisors and management are the most incompetent people I've ever worked with. Blatant favoritism and sexism run rampant. Immediate supervisors use intimidation tactics and public shaming as "motivation." No acknowledgement of accomplishments at all. No incentives for going above and beyond, even during a pandemic. Jobs threatened on a regular basis. They will tell you that the goals are unfair in the same breath that they scold you for not meeting those goals. Management cares more about quantity than quality, we have honestly been told to be less thorough and clean less in order to meet goals. Employees that regularly cross-contaminate are known and joked about, but never penalized because they make their numbers. I would never give any product produced here to any of my animals. Overtime is mandatory and often assigned last minute with no flexibility. Schedules and policies are changed on a whim. Supervisors will fabricate reasons to write you up in order to keep you trapped in their department with no opportunity for growth. Employess are penalized for working slower with injuries even when the injuries occurred on the job. The attendance policy is a joke, even one callout will prevent you from getting an adequate raise. Occurrences are given no matter the reason for you calling out and the allowance for occurances is the lowest I've seen at any company. Employee morale is non-existent and you will regularly enter the bathroom to find another employee in the midst of an emotional breakdown.

EXTREME  micromanagers

Managers are barely in 20s doing training thru wedgewood to be a supervisor.... and its their first job. 

Favoritism is a HUGE problem...management admits this but says its human nature so nothing can be done

Every minute of your day is watched...if youre over break 30 seconds they freak out snd only give you certain amount of minutes a day for the bathroom. If you take more than 20 seconds after a phone cal to finish your work the superviaors freak out 

Stuff was stolen over months but no help from company

Very strict attendance policy thats not enforced to management or all departments

Only time something gets done is when people complain and bug the supervisors until they get their way. 

No proper training and then throw you on the phones

Supervisors complain about other employees openly without any respect for that employee. 

Company was recently bought out and only care now about meeting their numbers

Horrible atmosphere. Managment degrades employees instead of promoting. 

Supervisors will push one person to work every minute but then allow others to talk and hang out bc their favorites.  

Tons if drama and rumors...didnt have as much in high school or college

Again, management is a JOKE 

Overtime is normally mandatory and availability to change your shift sucks. Plan on working 1130-8 for at least a year but if any favorites in your group then theyll move up quicker.  

If you love yourself and don't want to cry every morning on the way to work please do not work at wedgewood. 


Two stars because made some really good friends and once out of customer care department its a tad better

At first glance, Wedgewood seems like a great place to work. The staff are friendly, the work hours are excellent, and the benefits are genuinely impressive. However, the biggest challenge lies within the management, all the way up to the executive level.

The culture often felt like more was always being demanded, even when it was clear that more wasn’t possible. While I could accomplish numerous things correctly, the focus was often placed on the one thing I might have done wrong. The manager, who came from the sales team, seemed to lack formal management training. While he was quick to point out mistakes, he rarely provided guidance on how to improve or clarify expectations. I believe this was reflective of the pressure he was under from his own leadership, who seemed to prioritize demanding more over supporting their team.

There was also a lack of clear expectations and positive reinforcement, which made the work environment feel discouraging. Additionally, there’s no real room for advancement—roles are fixed with no clear path for promotion.

I am grateful for the experience and opportunities Wedgewood provided, but ultimately, I’m much happier in my current role elsewhere.

Ask them why they aren't in the human compounding field anymore. I guarantee you won't get the real answer. 

If you enjoy being micromanaged, given unrealistic deadlines, and feeling discouraged every day, this is the place for you. Training is almost nonexistent. they expect you to know everything after a five minute conversation, and that’s it. Make one small mistake, and it’s an automatic write up. The work is physically demanding and mind-draining, but there’s no appreciation. You're treated more like a machine than a human being. Management constantly gaslights employees, supervisors are rude, and favoritism is everywhere. Coworkers are often rude if you ask a simple question. If you don’t speak Arabic, good luck being treated with basic respect. To make things worse, the pharmacists constantly laugh and speak in their native language throughout the day. It often feels like they’re laughing at the techs, which creates an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. They’re also quick to complain about you behind your back instead of offering help or support. 
Enjoyment doesn't exist here. There’s zero support, zero growth, and zero understanding. The management is completely out of touch. This place seriously needs to be investigated by the higher-ups. Easily the worst pharmacy tech job I’ve ever had. Stay as far away as you can.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Steady Hours, nearly consistent overtime if you like working a lot.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management picks favourites. They don't give a single tiny bit of care for the employees. You are just a number. You will break and they'll fire and replace you without a second thought.

If you have any sort of disability, prepare to be discriminated against. I was told by my supervisor that we should ACTIVELY DISCOURAGE against people getting FMLA. This was after I had a conversation with HR about getting on FMLA because of my diagnosed and documented disability. HR decided to tell my boss that people on her team were asking about it, and that's where the "discourage your team members" came from.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's toxic. Everyone is always talking about everyone else. There's always some scandal going on. Managers and supervisors will do everything in their power to protect their favourites.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You'll be doing the same thing nonstop. You have metrics to hit and while it isn't impossible, they do expect you to skip your breaks to meet said metrics.
