You make a base salary here which is not much, but make more if your production rate is high. The problem with this system is the amount of extras they require you to do. I have worked for hourly companies that didn't require the amount of extra stuff to do on top of applications. They want you to knock on EVERY customers door when you complete the service. Why? I assume just to up sell services and repeatedly tell them about the referral program. In a province where where Fiesta is the only usable weed control you only here about the weeds from customers ALL DAY. Thats one example of many extras you have to do on top of services. Equipment also makes it harder to make production pay. No backpack sprayers and hand crank hose reels really make it take longer to do your job. The only company in the area that uses hand crank reels. Fertilizer and seed can get wet in the back of the truck because they have no dry storage area on there trucks, just another headache when your spreader gets plugged. 
Overall the pay scale makes this job exclusive to high school/college students who will work one season you have to work yourself to death to make a decent pay where other companies have kept techs for long term because there pay system is much more sound.

I worked with them as a sales rep (work from home) for a few days.  They give you three days "training" where it's them talking about their crazy ex Russian wife, or about if someone's says no do this this this this this this this this this this this. No practice. They didn't focus on HOW to do the job, they focused on how they got started and what year and how many Weedman they have etc. For three days. Then you get thrown into the battle field. 

So in my FIRST hour on my FIRST day, I creeply get a manager in my EAR on the headset (which throws you WAY off when you're speak with someone) saying "Okay, keep on going, I want to talk to you blah blah blah" he showed me my Agent Report. Saying it's way above the needed  7 (which bad) and saying I'm taking to many NOs an hour? It was my FIRST hour holy. Some calls go straight to answering machine, some hear my name and click, and others let me talk and do my job and say "no not interested and hang up". All this happens before I could say any rebuttals. 

Very discouraging. I am a sales agent now, great company, and on top. Because I have what Weedman can't offer. A strong support team and management behind me.

I have worked at the Chattanooga location for several years. I have done marketing, sales, and tech work. The tech work is outdoors and can be tough at times, but that is to be expected. Great opportunities to earn commissions on sales while out there too. The office has people there all day to talk to customers and help the techs. Marketing was fun, going out and talking with people, most people we spoke to were friendly. The owners try very hard to provide and safe and supportive work place. The office people are very helpful also. 

Supervisors and managers included were never on the same page of what to do and were constantly running other technicians including myself around. We did jobs for supervisors because they were lazy and they had no interest in fixing broken equipment and would paan everything off to other technicians to take care of stuff mangament needed to take care of. I'd likely never reccomend this place to any avid worker 3/10

I enjoy working at Weed Man every day that I am here. I started off as a part-time salesperson, and I worked my way up to be the Sales Manager. They promote completely based on your ability, and not nepotism. If you have the skills, and the willingness to learn, they will create a career for you. I have seen this company go through a lot of growth, and the sky is the limit. The best thing about this job is that the company culture is so fantastic. I love coming to work every day.

Weed Man's system makes it easy to get our customer's lawn green and weed free.  I love physical work and making customers happy.  It is crazy how much customers will love you and praise you if you make their lawns look good.   

Techs are expected to do between 30-35 jobs a day and do quality work
( which is a struggle) knock on 30 doors a day, get 1 lead a day and 1 truck sale a week, they take sales out of your check If a customer cancels after signing up for service. You can get fired if you don't meet the requirements for the job. They seem to care more about the money then the customers or techs 

I worked 60+ hours a week with old broken equipment. Management was unresponsive to fixing equipment or to giving time off. From March 2014 to October 14,2014 I worked everyday only getting 2 says a month off. arriving at work at 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., everyday. My request for anytime off was denied. Until finally being so exhausted I got hurt. And when I did my boss believed i was faking and would not pay workmans comp.

Learned a lot regarding healthy benefits and facts about products and lawn maintenance. Everybody is very friendly and helpful; You talk and interact with people a lot. The hardest part of the job would be coming up with effective lines and phrases to persuade potential customers, however it is very doable and easy to memorize after some time.

got to the ware house loaded up the trucks and went on are way to the jobs we had for the day. typically took 7 to 8 hours to complete a work day.

learned  how to use a spreader and aerator correctly, learned to drive trucks with a long trailer. 

management was good at keeping are work day around 8 hours.

hardest part was working on hot summer days.

best part of the job the end of the day and going home feeling like you worked hard.
