At first it seems great, family and patient care first. You quickly learn otherwise. "Management" is only interested in promoting their friends and family members. Even if you are smart, hardworking and have an experience in your background, forget it. Especially if you aren't a nurse. Everything is about quantity and not quality. When senior managers that had been there for 20 years quit and get fired, you kow it's bad. Pay is not enough to make it in this town either.  Raises are MAYBE 3-5 percent which equals out to 30 to 40 cents an hour. News Flash- 48 dollars a month extra is not doing anyone any good. Keep it! You obviously need it more! The CFO and COO (who got the jobs because the previous ones quit/were fired) are interested in lining pockets and decreasing the quality of the supplies and care that are given to patients, not in making sure the staff thrive. Everything is nickle-dimed to death. Unless they are trying to open another office, for which they dont have staff. But hey- we're growing! Too many patients and not enough staff to cover it. Forget about making the departments bigger, they just give more work to the already over-staffed ones they have. If someone quits or gets fired, they chalk it up to being unhappy etc,not the company fault. Never take responsibility for their actions. If the same things are being said in all and cities and offices for several years over and over and over again, when does it stop being the fault or blame of the people who have quit? Department managers are totally checked out because they have ridiculous goals. Worthless and always out of offices. Never available unless they have a spare five minutes that they need to send out an email regarding something they got their behind chewed out for. Then they couldn't be more attentive. Too much time spent on redundent reports instead of addressing the real concerns that employees have. "I dont have time to discuss staffing issues, but here's the attendance policy so I dont get in trouble and I get my raise!" The ones that truly care about the patients and the care they receive, the little people in the office doing all the work, are not listened to with any kind of frequency or urgency. This company is expanding at an alarming rate but I would bet it is so the new owner can sell it at a massive profit. Stay away from this place unless you want low pay, no growth, high insurance rates, absent management and a self-absorbed senior management team.

Staff is expected to see way too any patient in one day and is awarded for doing so. Every day nurses were making visit that only lasted 15 minutes at the most, despite having complex patient needs. Nurses are paid per visit making it far more beneficial to jam as many as you can into a day. Nurses get the same amount of pay for a 15 min visit as they do an hour visit. On top of that, management sends out a so called productivity report company wide, showing how many patients each clinical employee sees in a day/week. No where in this so called report is acuity factored in or quality of care indicated. This practice illustrates  the pervasive nature this company has  of putting employees against each other. We were taught to score the admitting oasis low and the discharge oasis high I order to get better outcomes and APPEAR like a five star company. We were given scripts to use to promote patient to answer surveys more possitively. In my time there 99% of my training was on how to make the company more money with only about 1% of my trainings on teaching me to provide better care. Even annual reviews/pay raises where based on factors that have nothing to do with being a good nurse but rather documenting in such a way that gets the company the most money. While there are many wonderful clinical staff there I would not let Well Care take care of my dog much less a family member. All they really provide give their nurses time to do is take vitals, slap on a dressing, and offer very brief/non specific teaching. Lets face it, if you are seeing 10 patients in a day how can anyone do anymore given the miles of driving and hours of documentation that must also be done.

I am sorry to say working for Well Care was the worst job I have had in my working career. This company is disorganized and not well run. While working at well care I pretty much had the worst work life balance I have ever experienced. In my role as an occupational therapist, I probably spent 60 to 80 hours a week on work related tasks, but was paid for 40. The patients constantly complained of poor communication, not being able to get a hold of the office or nursing staff when they needed assist. Well Care gives you designated territories to cover and let me tell you the areas are huge regardless of what they tell you. You will spend the majority of your day driving, it was not uncommon for me to have 45 minutes to an hour between patients. If you’ve done home health before you know, this is a ginormous waste of time. I spent as much time driving as I did seeing patients which results in very long days.  Well care also requires you to make contact with the patients physician or PA’s directly in order to sign off on orders, which causes a ginormous mess as far as getting your documentation and orders done in a timely manner. You’re often waiting a week to 10 days and having to call multiple times to get approval for orders which again is another huge waste of time. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. I did not have a good experience and could not wait to leave.  

This company lacks compassion and respect for their workers and patients.  Their business model is to be authoritative/dictatorial and money-driven, which is unfortunate since the company manages patients with medical health concerns. "Patient care" should be the main focus of their "home health" business model.   Management was conducted by low- to mid-level individuals who were more concern about billing than understanding their employees' concerns and issues.   The CEO was an enigma, never present for meetings nor sent out emails.

Their goal is to continue expanding in the Coastal Carolina area and inland with very little attention to the needs of its workers (RNs, PTs, OTs, SW, STs, CNAs).  Their goal should be in improving patient care via strong leadership from direct supervisors (who should actively be in communication and providing adequate support to their employees instead of sitting in offices all day, typing documents, rarely returning their employees' phone calls) and employees in return providing adequate support to patients and caregivers at the allotted time (there were reports of employees not staying at patients' home for the required amount of time). 

I wanted to make sure I wrote this review months after I have parted with the company and fully processed my feelings in order to provide an opinion that is not emotionally-driven.  

They sell the company well during the interview process. They say they put patient's first.  What they put first is their finances. They say they have a small business mindset. This actually means they don't hire enough people to adequately do the work. Everyone is over worked and over whelmed.  They accept more patients than they have staff to provide care. As a clinician it is extremely frustrating and difficult  to provide quality care when you are constantly being asked to take on more. They don't hesitate to put 9, 10 and even 11 patients on your schedule. If you don't push back they expect you to see them. Nurses are doing 15 minute visits. Management does not care. They never have anything good to say. Communication is always about what you did not do. At month's end they call and expect you to drop what you are doing and lock visits so they can meet their financial goals. They don't care what you are doing. Senior management call, text, email and generally harass and threaten until you do what they want. There is no thought given to the fact that you are out trying to provide patient care. It never occurs to them that if we weren't over worked we would complete our documentation timely.

Run! This place is absolutely awful to work at. They don't care about you as an employee at all. They load you down with as much work as possible and want to pay you as least as possible. I wasn't allowed to use the bathroom or leave my desk without getting scolded or threatened to be fired. You don't get your own work space. You will be crammed in a small room with about 10 other people with the manager in there to watch your every move. If you think I'm lying, ask them to show you around the ENTIRE office during the interview. Don't let them leave out any sections. You also will be yelled at regularly. Worked like a dog. And they will not work with you when things come up. The billing department gets the WORST treatment from the entire company. You will be doing at least 3 other departments job and no appreciation. Management is AWFUL. Being yelled at and cussed at on a regular basis is the norm.  Whatever you do, I am trying to save you from a miserable job! Please protect yourself and don't get this job. I promise you it will be an awful experience. Oh and if you think HR will help you, think again. And the insurance really sucks.

Well Care Health is a great place to work! Always promoting from within, and genuinely care about their employees and patients. My job is "normal" schedule Monday-Friday 8a-5p. Management is always available to help/ give guidance/ assistance when needed. Workplace culture, we are always striving to be the best of the best in everything we do. This can be difficult for some people but if you really dig in and align yourself with the company culture of patients are #1 and always ask yourself the question-- is this benefiting the patient? You will do just fine! The hardest part of the job right now, is the rapid growth and expansion. We are always striving to be the best, and with multiple new offices in North and South Carolina it is hard to keep up sometimes! The most enjoyable part are the patients, my coworkers, and managers. I am naturally a people-person and feel that this is a great fit for people that genuinely care about each other's well-being. If you are looking for a great career in a company that is growing, I highly recommend!

For starters, they lure you in promising a lot of money for every patient you see. They don't mention that 1) they don't actually guarantee that they'll give you more than a few patients every day - it is always inconsistent and you have no control over how few or many. And, if you want more, they'll give you patients that are an hour drive.  2) They don't mention the 60-90 minutes of notes that every patient visit will require, once you add in all the various notes, emails, reports, etc that every patient requires. No, they don't pay you for note time, just per patient. They really have no interest in helping employees grow or learn or even provide better treatment for patients. They just want to squeeze as much out of each patient's insurance as they can, and as much out of each employee as they can. Don't be fooled. You do not want to work here, and they will not give you what they promise. Lastly, their HR head is cut throat.

MRS are paid low, lack of incentives, day is filled with gossip and no privacy to do work!  The days are extremely stressful with lack of leadership overseeing the drama on the clinical side!  Well Care is a 5 star company with a 1star as far work ethic after orientation. Don't let the orientation fool you!  Not to mention having to use your PTO for holidays that you aren't allowed to work  & not even a complete area to eat lunch.  Well Care have some perks but the CON's are outweighing what the company could be. Most enjoyable part is knowing you can be flexible with taking days off & hr lunch break. A major deal breaker , DON'T EXPECT A RAISE or bonuses! Upper management & Liaison's will get all the revenue. 
The work environment  is so negative, it takes away the enjoyment of coming to work. 
IF you need work to get by, then WELL CARE is the place to be, unless you fit you with the disrespectful, loud women that loves to gossip !

Management was like dealing with teenage girls in high school. Management was extremely unprofessional and would talk to employees about other employees and turn people against each other. The way some managers spoke to employees was downright rude, degrading and disrespectful. There were 12 of us seated in 1 fairly small room with no partitions or barriers to help block noise if you were on the phone or if the printer was running. Employee celebrations such as birthdays were nonexistent so the team wasn’t a team at all. You were basically on your own. Almost as if they would look for ways to bring you down instead of ways to improve. You were expected to sit at your desk, facing a wall, not talk to anyone, bathroom breaks were monitored, do your job and go home. Unless of course you were part of the managers minions that had an entirely different set of rules. Turn over rate is extremely high which should have been my first clue.
