WellMed has the potential to do a lot of good for our patients, providers and its employees and I strongly believe in our purpose and benefit of our services. However, there has been an extremely poor emphasis on building relationships, collaboration and cohesiveness amongst our teammates and throughout other departments and between leadership within WellMed all of whom we rely on to deliver our services effectively – resulting in more of a competitive atmosphere - each seeming to degrade the other's services and being overly critical of each other rather than embracing, encouraging and supporting each other while we're all growing together. Additionally, the leadership has been extremely disorganized in the delivery of processes, policies and changes and instead of recognizing the difficulties and being understanding of what the employees are going through, have instead been very unsupportive, uncaring and unjustifiably punitive at times toward its employees during this period of buildup and growth at a time when flexibility and support is of utmost importance. I love the work that we do with WellMed but I’m very disappointed in the quality of leadership support I've been provided throughout the duration of my employment with WellMed which has resulted in undue stress, aggravation and overall job dissatisfaction.

Daily I would assist the Doctor with seeing patients by taking vitals and documenting them in their chart. Then as per the Doctors request I would perform other tests on the patient (ABI, EKG, VPT, DPN etc...) or assist with things like skin tag removal and trigger point injections. Made appointments with specialists and called in prescriptions and called pts about their lab results. Lastly I cleaned up my station and rooms. Routinley I would assist w. triaging patients via phone and nurse visits. I also for the first 8 months of employment there was the lab tech.
I learned alot there specifically so when working with the doctor, such as new procedures and the reasons why we performed them.
My coworkers were civil, not particularly motivted and being all females they tended to gossip. For the most part they were ok, easy to work with.
Hardest part of the job was the favoritism that was demonstrated by our manager to 1 imparticular employee.
The best part of my job apart from working with the doctor was aiding the patients and being part of their health care experience, there is nothing like seeing a happy patient.

The company itself is a great company to work for but NEVER work at the REMCON location that is the worst place to work at the management there is disgusting to say the least a lot of favoritism and disrespect and they like to humiliate their staff members.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The staff is amazing everyone gets along but then management steps in for whatever reason and they make drama at work they cause the hostile environment admin here is nasty they are rude disrespectful  disgusting people the favoritism here is un believe able  the way they treat employees is crazy I think a street dog gets treated better!!! Never come work to the wellmed at Remcon the CA is HORRIBLE!!

A typical day for me is taking anxiety medication due to all the stress the admin has caused me  I can never come to work do my job and leave in peace

I worked for this company for a year the doctor who owned the practice sold it to WellMed. They have so many policies and all they care about is achieving their numbers for metrics so they can receive a bonus but those are mainly for upper management. They are constantly on your back and expect you to do everything. When there is upset patient management never wants to handle it, they like to pin their own jobs on employees. This job felt like they were just constantly watching what everyone was doing instead of helping work be easier for everyone. Lots of rude and petty comments, felt more like management was against employees, constant disrespect. I once had to call in due to a family member passing away and I informed my managers but they didn’t even respond to my message just plain sick inhumane people to work with, very toxic environment. Several employees reported management to HR but nothing was done. Before I left this job, about 7 employees had already left. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The only plus is being able to work remote.

The workload is quite demanding within a limited timeframe, and there are challenges with time management. Additionally, the weekend schedule seems unnecessary, and the current job processes and technical support are in need of improvement. The frequent and significant changes from one day to the next are also impacting productivity, and there are limited opportunities for career growth.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
In a high-pressure work setting, significant changes are implemented overnight, necessitating an immediate adaptation to new roles and responsibilities. This rapid shift demands a quick adjustment to the new expectations and requirements.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I have been with wellmed for over 2 years. I am a certified medical assistent. They are a company that takes care of their employees. They want you to be happy with your job. They make sure you have the tools to do your job well as well as rise in the company if you want. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I take care of geriatric patients. That can sometimes be stressful as some of them have memory issues. I have had less stress in this job than I have had with any other medical offices or companies. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We have a lot of diversity in our office from several different ethnic groups. As long as you have the skills you needs, their is no prejudice. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. Everyone works as a team. Their is no work load that you can't handle. Everyone has a 1 hour lunch break. I check patients into rooms to be seen by providers, call patients on the phone, draw blood, etc.

This was the absolute worst place I ever worked. I worked in IT doing database ETL development. They hired a manager with and MBA and no programming experience. The first question he asked was what is a database index. Its like hiring a MBA to manage nurses and that person asking what is Systolic and Diastolic blood pressure. What? Most of are management has no programming or database experience. They stresses emotional intelligence and six sigma. We are software developers. Sure emotional intelligence is important but you have to be able to program first. Six sigma has very little application in software because its all custom. We are not making engine parts.  It like trying to apply lean six sigma to novel writing. The management I worked under is absurd. 
The work you to death often working as long as a month without a day off. Almost no programmer are promoted. 
By the way. The group I worked with had many highly skilled, smart programmer who perform heroics to overcome management and get the job done

My journey at Wellmed started well, with its attractive pay and efficient management. However, the company went through several layoffs during my tenure, significantly increasing my workload. I had to step up and take on additional responsibilities such as managing referrals, the fax inbox, and a multitude of daily tasks like tuck-in calls, follow-up acute calls, quality measures calls, lab result calls, refills, and addressing patient concerns within three days. Despite these challenges, I was still expected to room patients, reschedule appointments, and provide visit summaries. Each clinic is ranked based on the number of Wellmed insurance patients seen and metrics met, so the team and you are expected to focus more on Wellmed Advantage patients than those with commercial insurance to increase your clinic score. The benefits are okay. You get to choose your insurance plan. An associate degree allows you to use their academic resources for school benefits related to further education. Otherwise, you set to find your way to pursue your degree.

Starting out in 2021 through the end of 2022. it was a great company to work for. Management was very helpful and insightful, team members always provided assistance when needed, and taking calls were fairly nice for the most part. However, beginning 2023 they started to increase workload/call volume intake that was not proportional to the amount of representatives that we had during this time. There was a hiring freeze for about a year as well. There was a lack of internal communication between departments, as well as more unhappy callers calling in about their claims. It also did not help that WellMed would have callers sometimes waiting for up to an hour on the phone just to speak with a rep like myself, which in turn caused burnout for myself as well as other representatives within the dept. I would have recommended this position if this was prior to 2023, but now I am not so sure as I do not want others to feel the same as I have.

If you are a college student, don't work here, they will not give you the time to take classes, even when they ask for your available time for next year's schedule. Work will be overwhelmingly busy on Mondays (sometimes Tuesdays and Wednesdays too), and with fifteen minutes to finish each call, you will be transferring or escalating most of your calls. 

You will be written up if you are a minute late coming in, sometimes for breaks (15 minutes)/lunch (1 hour) too, regardless of traffic or any valid reason. 3 strikes, you're out. Coworkers are nice and helpful, but management is negative. Managers are quick to criticize and rarely give thanks or praise for your work, and get upset when you don't respond to their emails (even with no indication that they want a response). Overall, company is unforgiving and inconsiderate of work-life balance, especially for entry-level workers
