Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research

This place only cares about the money they are taking from patients. They will take in patients they can not specifically care for.  They let insurance pay for treatment some patients don't even receive. The management let's employees get away with harassing co workers, degrading co workers, and constant use of fear to go to HR when a problem arises. When you do go to HR, they tell you something will be done to fix the issue, and surprise, no follow up, everything is forgotten. This is supposed to be a place of healing and instead it's a place of favoritism, and lack of proper management. They don't care for your mental health, and they don't care if you leave due to their lack of responsible management. 
This is supposed to be a place patients learn to heal and learn to overcome their addictions, yet this place waits on them hand and foot. A rehab can be nice, but when employee are treated as servants, it's a scary thing. There are no rules, boundaries, or consequences for patients when they treat staff poorly. It all remains to be staffs fault when a patient curses at them or throws things at them, because how could a paying patient be wrong. 
This place may seem like a "hidden jem" but always remember the patients attending are being enabled left and right, who wouldn't want to be, and the return rate of patients are astronomical. A better facility would focus more on their mental wellbing to keep them from coming back rather than making a country club where they are never wrong, enticing them that it's OK to relapse. I've seen rehabs of less means with higher success rate than here. 

Beautiful facility with luxurious amenities for patients and staff. Salary is excellent. People in entry level positions with minimal credentials and experience make more than highly trained/experienced professionals with licenses holding management positions with other companies. The pay is so good that it makes it difficult to leave. Sadly, there is limited focus on patient care and staff wellness. Management is often unavailable/ inaccessible resulting in difficulties managing urgent situations and streamlining efficiency. Also, management is unwilling to support staff by doing “front line” work when the need arises, and there is no sensitivity to staff being overwhelmed or unable to provide quality patient care. There is limited (if any) openness to feedback when voicing concerns about the level of support for staff and quality of care. Unqualified people are carrying out important tasks which impacts programming and compromised ethical practice. The main goal is to increase the census and fill beds. Staff is expected to work overtime without additional compensation. Due to unrealistic expectations paper work is often out of compliance due to inability to complete it in a timely  manner. 

I LOVE working at Wellbridge. On an average day, I typically see around 10 patients, depending on the day. This is a drastic difference from the 40 patients I was responsible for at the hospital where I used to work.  Coming to Wellbridge was a refreshing change. I worked in a hospital setting for fifteen years, (ER, surgery, addiction medicine) and after going through Covid in the hospital, I  experienced much burnout, with staff that were also burned out.  It was difficult to give the time to the patients, where as at Wellbridge, I can give my utmost attention to each of my patients who are at an extremely vulnerable time in their lives. I actually feel like I am making a difference. Coming to Wellbridge helped me to rediscover my love for medicine and for addiction medicine again. My coworkers are all such loving and compassionate people, and it is evident how much everyone cares about the patients, and about what they do.  I highly recommend applying to Wellbridge. It is a very positive work environment with staff who are unique and extremely empathetic and caring.

First off the facility is BEAUTIFUL! The people working with direct care- the nurses, therapists and behavioral techs are doing the best they can, Most of them. The Management is nonexistent, unsupportive, punitive and will praise you in one email then fire you two days later.  Care of the patients is not a priority, money is. There is nowhere to turn if you are needing guidance and it is often punished if you ask for help. What could be a great facility unfortunate is not for care or employment.  Management and HR are highly unprofessional, not versed in OASAS and not well equipped for their positions.  The salary was a highlight, but job security is not there, and they fire anyone for trying to make improvements or act in an ethical manner that conflicts with revenue. A good example of this for example is physical safety- if you are assaulted not only does the patient stay, security never come to your aid, but you will be reprimanded for how you respond.

Wellbridge, without knowing it at the time, has become my dream job.  Everyday I have opportunities to save the lives of patients battling addiction.  
I am able to share my experience, strength, and hope with others in an attempt to let patients know that they are not alone, and we can't recover alone.  
This facility allows me to reach out to Senior staff, at any time, with patients' concerns to better understand what our population needs. 
This job is close to home physically and emotionally.  I didn't know a dream job existed until I started at Wellbridge.  The staff that I work with day in, and day out are extraordinary and put their heart and soul into every patient's needs and treatment.  

I’ve worked at many different places, most of them dealing with people directly, working at Wellbridge is by far my favorite. I feel that I’m not just one number on their payroll, I feel appreciated, respected, I feel that my opinion matters. My personal experience has been great, I know that my position at Wellbridge  makes a contribution to someone’s recovery, and their family. Like in any other place there might be challenges at times, but I’ve never felt unsupported, disrespected or ignored. I love working here, it’s made such a positive impact in my personal life, I feel happy coming to work. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The staff. There are individuals who work at this facility that truly care about the quality of care that patients receive. There is a strong sense of community amongst the staff, across multiple departments. 


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of support, consistency and leadership. It is apparent that leadership in several departments does not care about their staff. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Look for support and guidance from your peers because leadership and administration rarely get involved.


My experience working at Wellbridge was extremely negative. The environment was dangerous, and management consistently ignored the concerns of the staff. High turnover was a constant issue, and it was clear that employees were miserable. 

The facility was chaotic, with patients often running the show. Drugs were frequently brought in, leading to multiple overdose incidents. Employees were scared of both the patients and the lack of support from management. I would not recommend working here to anyone.

The entire position was stressful as an rss. Way to much expected of you for a very low salary.

The environment is very stressful and overwhelming

Running around like crazy and dealing with unfriendly staff.

As a person both in long-term recovery and now working in the field, I can say with great confidence that this facility needs to be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. Most of the direct patient care staff are amazing human beings just genuinely trying to survive in NY by making a living helping others not suffer and die. DO NOT WORK HERE, DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE, DO NOT GO TO HELLBRIDGE FOR HELP.
