Management is very focused and on point to ensure business success (which means keeping production going). But this focus sometimes led to unrealistic expectations of what can be accomplished in a given day, many times not giving enough understanding or actionable assistance when the challenges arose with employees, equipment and procedures. But I would say that most of the supervisors I worked with/for did their best in what is a busy and communication heavy working environment. The organizational skills will make or break a supervisor there, especially in warehouse, where I spent most of my tenure.

As with any large company with many moving parts and a fairly high turnover rate, it is easy to get "lost in the sauce". During my short stint in Production as an AMO (in training) I feel that training is one area that needs improvement. Most of the training is on the job, running the machine with the expectation that you will get better. The tidy 5 week training binder covered in a week of classroom, outlining the next four on the floor is problematic due to factors like scheduling, multiple trainers, and the issues on a running line. Even with a somewhat proactive attitude, it was hard to progress through the material step by step. Some things were covered way to much (different trainers), other things not enough. Training specialists (evaluators) will come around at some point for evaluation and usually a barrage of information based on what you have learned so far. I was surprised to be approached by the training specialist a couple of days after I finished the Week 1 classroom portion. Felt like I was being rushed...evaluated early due to needed operators based on the sudden exit of the Crew Leader which threw an already difficult line into disarray. I did understand  and respect that it is a business after all. Many employees lose sight of that, which affects their ability to be patient and considerate. Production was where I spent the least amount of my tenure and an unfortunate string of events made training difficult which equates to an unacceptable level of job stress I perceived for the future. 

There are some really competent, outgoing people that work there, many of whom have been there for years. They typically had a favorable position on Wells as a whole, which told me a lot. It is a good company and on the level with the majority of things that I felt were important to make me want to continue working there day after day. It is one of the few places I have worked that I would consider applying to again.

I have been with Wells a long time! I worked in a few positions within the company serving in a variety of departments. The team members that took pride in their work also moved up whenever they wished. The company has identified initiatives to improve the experience here at Wells which is awesome considering how many moving pieces it takes to take on improving the culture, improving work life balances, and improving support over all so that team members feel like they belong and have the freedom to up into positions that not only challenge you, but give you a sense of fulfillment. People who leave often want to come back because the grass is not greener on the other side when going to other companies.
 We have a great team and we have great opportunities to ensure this company continues on the right path. A company is made up of people, so if you're someone who doesn't believe in personal excellence, and providing solutions to problems, then you're not going to do well here. However, if you're someone who loves a challenge, and wants to make a difference, while building an amazing career, then this is the place for you, and I would love to have more team members like you! And this is coming from someone who has been with the company for over 10 years!!! Wells has the opportunities for you if you are someone willing to show that you are reliable, dependable, and a strong team player. Some of our best ideas come from our own team members! 

I generally like working there. The Company provides really good benefits and Medical Plans and tends to reward the employee at certain times in the year for their hard work. Most  supervisors are very attentive to their employees and general population of the workforce is very friendly and multicultural. 

The hardest part of the job is the amount of hours we have to put in per day, generally 10 to 12 hours and usually standing in one area. They do provide 15 to 20 min breaks in between but eventually the pain in your feel can be unbearable. If you can withstand standing that many hours and is a quick learner then you will feel right in home. You must be willing to not make personal plans ahead of time given that your schedule is constantly changing (they plan 2 weeks ahead) They do provide options if you need to change your schedule but if you have consistent personal commitments outside of the plant then it might be a hassle each week.

Overall I would recommend working there if you do not have problems with constant scheduling changes.

Been here for some time because it's a good paying job but that's about it. Just a paycheck. The Wells of yesterday is dead and gone. You spend more time here then with family. Co Workers are great to work with and most act as if on a team and some of the supervisors too. Management is mostly clueless. Safety is a joke. They act like they care but they speed up the machines, take away employees from lines expecting you to work harder and faster to save a buck. Then people get hurt and management can't figure out why. 50 to 60+ hours a week sometimes 12 days straight before you get that one day off during Prime Time which feels like all the time lately. People are tired and again management can't figure it out. 
If your single with no family and don't care that you will probably get hurt hustling, apply. If you have family or appreciate me time, reconsider.

Unfortunately, Wells was a family oriented company 10 years ago. Not anymore. They wanted to become a "Big Company" and they succeeded and also have started to act like a big company.  They layoff ppl like its not a big deal, then 1-2 years later they realize they made a mistake and hire those same positions back.  But not after they destroy ppls careers and displace ppl that moved their family to the middle of Iowa where they cannot easily find another job without picking up their family again and leaving causing major issues for kids and family in general. Management is horrible and they have no idea what they are doing. The spends millions on consumer studies all to have the Executives ignore the data.... Ridiculous wastes of money throughout and then they have to layoff ppl because of this.

Join the "team" at your own risk.

If you are not popular and well known in the company, then don't expect to get any sort of decent training or opportunity to learn skills or to advance if you start out on the production floor. Supervisors really aren't trying to even introduce themselves to new employees unless they are forced to. 

If you get hurt on the job, expect to be treated like a burden by management. 

There is an undertone of the company not respecting Quality Assurance and assuming you have a cushy job. Expect to hear passive aggressive comments and microaggressions from other departments. Management breaks GMP's and you are expected to pretend to not notice. The department is mostly a clique and only popular people are promoted and will try to get all their friends in. People will not do their job and blame others, and hard workers are expected to pick up the slack. QA supervisors, no comment.

Since starting with the company, I gradually grown into a new career path that I never considered myself for until the management team that hired me and I work for seen the true potential in me that at times I didn't see in myself. I've learned new and sharpen skills such as time management, efficiency, multi tasking, and increased my patience as time grew all with the support of the company. The amount of appreciation is spectacular. A simple good job is sufficient enough for me but the team and management go above all else to  show that appreciation. Tools to complete the job and support is present as well. I consistently get asked if I need anything to help me get my job done and when ever I needed it, I was available. I also feel like my voice and opinion matter and I feel heard when sharing ideas or presenting issues. Threw out all the companies I have worked for. I can proudly say that this has been the best company I have ever worked for.  

Wells Enterprises is a fantastic place to work.  Family-owned with solid core values and mission.  They really care about their employees.  I believe everyone is hardworking and have a great deal of pride doing the work they do.  Their efforts are frequently recognized and celebrated.  There is a lot of history starting with a humble beginning and today they are a clear leader in the industry they represent.

Wells is not a bad place to work but also not a good place either. Have some great co-workers and a couple of good Supervisors. We work long days 12 hour shifts in most cases with rarely any quality time off. Machines break down often and sometimes makes us work longer hours so we never know when we can go home.  Not good if you have children to pick up or made plans. They really don't care. If you love working holidays this is the place for you too. 
The pay is good and so are the benefits that are offered. We have a Union but it's just employees of Wells so no outside representation. You also get farmed out to different lines too and are expected to know how the lines run and again work longer or shorter hours.  
I am currently looking for another job. I can't wait to be free of this place!

Working at Wells has not been one of the brightest choices I have made. Lots of turnover. They don't know how to train. Management is horrible. There down hundreds of employees and honestly we all got a raise but the raise is still to low for what you have to put up with on a daily basis. Most of the workers drive 45 min to get there and with how things are there's no point in working there when you can work closer to home for the same pay. I was never trained I got written up my 1st month because nobody would help me or show me the ropes and instead of giving proper training they suspended me for a day do to work ethic. I called up my old boss immediately got out of there. Maybe learn how to properly train people before you try to demote them and suspend them..now I know why they can't keep anybody.
