Pros: most of the residents are really nice and most of the families are as well. You get to truly like and care for a lot of them. Most direct co-workers work together and are helpful.

Cons: Pay is very low and it's often understaffed.  LPNs make $22/hr. The starting pay rate hasn't changed in many years. I know aides that make about the same. 60 residents to one floor and sometimes there is 3 or 4 aides instead of 6. There is supposed to be 3 nurses, but they often have two. They don't make any attempts to bring in agency or try to get people incentives to work because they don't want to pay money. If there is a call out, they won't even ask the people who are already working that day if they want to stay for another shift. I went in countless amount of times to see it short staffed once again, and the employees there at that time said no supervisor asked them to stay, and  they were not even aware somebody had called out. They just add more work on top of the overload of work to the nurses and aides there. Many employees have been overheard saying they felt like they were ready to collapse because they are so exhausted. There is no help given by anyone in administration, just an oh well attitude and a shrug of their shoulders as they walk away from you.They can safely hide in their offices which happened to be air conditioned, while the staff workers work on floors that feel like it's 80 degrees there all the time. Most of the nurses and aides never actually get a break because there is too much work to be done. On night shift, there is one nurse for 60 residents. There is supposed to be 3 aides on night shift, but there is usually two. 3-11 is less busy, 7-3 is awful.

There is no employee appreciation efforts. They lock up the coffee machines because oh my god, the employees might drink it...even Jiffy Lube offers free coffee. Don't even think about anything on holidays. Employee meals? What's that?

The administrators you rarely see, but even when you do, they walk by and ignore you. If there is a resident there, they will actually say Hi because they are obligated, but otherwise, act like you don't exist.

My work experience was unimaginable. I am truly sorry for the day that I accepted a job here and wish I could hit the back button. This nursing home, like others, is taking full advantage of the saturated field of licensed nurses. The huge pool of unemployed nurses being churned out of nursing school in droves in this area makes it possible for Wesley Enhanced Living to fire all staff prior to their 90 day intro, to avoid benefits, then start over with cheaper staff.  They hire part time people and per diems to avoid benefits. They have no integrity, just a desire to fatten up the bottom line profits on the backs of employees. Understaffed to the point of danger and the rudest, most toxic people I have ever seen in HR. When things go wrong with the brand new nurses who make serious mistakes, you will be blamed and fired.

I really enjoyed the residents when I worked as a Dietary aide at Wesley Enhanced Living. The issue was pay was $7.91 and Dietary was the lowest paid in the building it was unfair. My supervisor who happened to be the Director of food services lacked competency and empathy as the nurses had often ordered food for themselves. I left this place and always wondered what happened to my residents. But I had to complete schooling as Dietary is nothing more than a temporary thing. The role is vital but I wasnt made to feel like that. My co-workers were okay but most didnt really care for the residents. There are only four people I can name including myself who cared.Take into account I worked this position in 2010ish. My former supervisor has been removed thank goodness but it took so long.

Residents l care about the DON was horrible she didn't care about her nursing assistance especially during the time of covid that was a very horrible time for everyone but as a don she was just ruthless and her ways far as caring for people was  not  kind         that's just my opinion

Never was treated like l was doing  good  job.

Very , very hard tense environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depend on the workload sometimes  short staff the company wanted the done no matter what I would work after my  shift  but that was my fault I should never punch out and keep working  that's definitely a No-No and so many ways I made my own job hard for myself.

It is very rewarding working for a non-profit organization who is extremely focused on enhancing the lives of others. The benefits are great and I am recognized for the work that I do. The best part of working at this company was the people. The bosses,the workers and the patients. Very easy going atmosphere.

The most stress part about working at the company was getting so close with the patients and they pass away.

The work environment and culture at the company was easy going,compassionate and genuine. Everyone was nice and respected each other.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at this job was busy, inactive and a joy to be at. It was comfortable and I got as much hours as I could because I loved to be there.

The company is not employee friendly. They only care about the money that's coming in, you have to fight to get your raise, there's no place for employees to store their belongings, there's favoritism, cliques, eveyone talks bad about everyone from administration to the employee as well as the residents. They write you up for the smallest things which is why they're always hiring. It seem to be a good company to work for at first, but after a while you begin to look for something else. Glad I left.

Over my years at WEL I have learned a lot about costumer service and the challenges that ma come along with it. This job is great for young individuals that are also trying to balance school alongside a job. They pay is competitive with similar jobs. They community of workers is very close and makes the job even more enjoyable. Management can sometimes have trouble communicating with the workers, but they mean well. Overall and excellent job that teaches one how to work with even the most difficult of people.

I enjoyed working with the elderly everyday. I learned to have patients and found enjoyment in their stories of their past. I normally would pass out medications morning and afternoon, give showers and help residents with their ADLs. My first boss when I came was a very nice person who was willing to work with you and help out. My second boss was ignorant to co workers and often down talked her staff. I love my co workers. I gained many friendships that will last forever from this place. The hardest part of the job was really nothing, but the most enjoyable part of my job was helping my residents out and being thanked many times for my hard work.

The staff working every day to help make each resident’s day fulfilling and present all with a safe and loving place to live.

The lack of support from the corporate office.
