What is the best part of working at the company?
Great company to work for.  Mgmt & Supervisors were great.  Everyone treated everyone with  courtesy & respect.  Company offers their friendly weekend competition as well.  Great prizes won.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Stress is what you bring in with you.  Easy hours & shifts.  If you are great with listening to customers & know what you are selling.  Everything is a breeze.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I worked from home.  You meet another of your team members in training class.   Also once training is completed , you are assigned to your team.  I never had an issue with anyone.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depending on your shift,  you log in as scheduled.   You said good day to your team members, so they know you are  in.  You start taking calls & answer questions.  Advise what comes with product you are selling.
Once you have given customer info, close the sale
Verify all customers info, make sure to verify cc card and advise final total to be charged 
Thank the customer and hang up
Go to the next call.  Everyone that works full time is entitled to 2 (15 mins) breaks 1 within the first 3-4 hrs and the 2nd in the afternoon
Lunch is 1 hrs and all breaks & lunch are scheduled.  At the end of your shift, you advised you are done for the day & say "good night" 
If you have  any question while on a call, advise caller you will check with a supv & will right back.  Never leave a caller on holder for more than 2 mins.  Always go back to your customer, apologize for the wait. You are still waiting for answer& go back to supv.

On a typical day, I took a very high call volume of calls for products seen on tv. Some would be for orders, some calls were for problems with billing or shipping, etc. 

I learned how to keep a smile on my face even though we were on the phone.  A customer can "hear" when you are happy at your job, and if you are happy to speak with them.

Because I worked from home, I had very little interaction with management, however, if I did reach out to them, the were always readily available to help me with any issues I may have had.

The workplace culture at West At Home was always one of "if you have any problems whatsoever you can always count on us to help where we can"...A very wonderful company!

The hardest part of the job, honestly, would be the very rare "hard to please customer".  But help was readily available, and my goal was to assist with a "one call" resolution.

The most enjoyable part of the job, of course, was working from home!  I enjoy the freedom of working at home!  No commute, no dress code, being available for my children and husband, etc.

This job was an eye opener. Again, in order to continue working while looking for jobs in my field, I took this position. I worked over my lan-line taking orders from people all over the country for items seen on tv infomercials. The training was chilling as you were told to speak with no warmth and you were expected to "read" all prompts, which were minutes long. It was not about the customer, again, it was about money made by company. Most of my customers would hang up angry after 10 minutes of me trying to, in a robotic voice (expected), sell them on everything but what they called to buy. I was recorded and listened to, policed, and rated according to my cold delivery of pitches. Unfortunately, they paid well under legal wages and somehow got away with it. I quit when one evening I started getting calls for pornography being sold. I stopped and stated I would not sell these items. I was told I had 2 options: to sell them or quit. Horrible way of doing business.

I answer the call and help the customer reschedule their deliveries if needed or contact the company who will be delivering items to see when they item will be delivered.

I have learned to take good notes to put down for the Delivery companies so that no one misses a scheduled delivery.

Management is as good as possible.  Sometimes we have to answer our own questions as it might be hard to get a Manager on the phone when needed.  The VA's sometimes have to transfer us to someone else as they don't have the answer themselves.

Love my coworkers and we keep in touch through AIM and help each other that way.

Hardest part of the job is trying to calm down someone who has missed their delivery and don't want to wait another week for the item.

I enjoy talking to the customers and helping them to reschedule their deliveries and calling the Home Delivery Agents to check on Time Frames for the customer.  Most of the customer are very nice to work with.

A typical work day would be to log in to your computer and take incoming customer service calls while still in your p.j's. Recieve calls from G.E. customers that had warrant issues with their appliances. Always made sure their contact information, as well as current address was up to date. If their was in special information that the technician needed to know when servicing a clients product made sure that was in the footnotes. Communicated with dispatcher as well when they had issues going to and from the home so we would always give the client a curtesy call to set their expectations. As far as management we always emailed and communicated and they was always their if I ran into a issue. Really didnt have any coworkers unless I had to call a SR. Rep to assist me with a problem on a call. They was always knowledgeable and helpful. The hardest part of the job was when my computer crashed. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to work from home.

West at home was only work at home since 2009 that actual gives you workat home feel. Nonrestrictive work environment .. No supervisor breathing down neck unless there are customers holding which will be a simple instant alert. The hours on HSN Program are unlimited and most flexible since it is 24/7 project. The downfall no paid time off since you are a contract for hire not employee. yes, they offer medical /dental but too expensive on pay per hour they give Also pay per hour fluctuates a lot based on incentive offered so hard to keep track of what you will average.
The feedback is very minimal and before you apply you really should have experience. Very hard to get in contact with Hr and Supervisors
. but pal assistance which is like a senior rep easily accessible thru chat. I have to admit this helps me stay afloat however, keep in mind this is a business and personal issues will interfere with employment. There is weekly hourly requirement and if not met you will get disciplinary actions against you. Training is self paced and timed but very easy and you get paid also.

I started working for West Telemarketing in 2003. They were renamed West at Home, LLC in 2007.  I worked for them until 2012.  I enjoyed the flexibility and the pay.  Unfortunately, it had gotten to a point whereby I was unable to get a schedule.   Then all of a sudden, when I logged in on the roll-out days and times, I didn't see a schedule for me to choose from.  After so many tries, I called the help desk and was told that I just have to keep trying.  I asked what happened to the roll-out schedule and was told that I just have to keep trying every day throughout the day.  This I did to no avail.  After 1 month of not being able to set up a schedule, my account was deactivated.  I called to find out what the problem was and they said that I was inactive for over 30 days.  I explained the situation and they said that there was nothing that they could do about it.  I was very disappointed.

 Working for West At Home has been an absolute dream job; most of the time.  Each day I work as many hours as I choose "when they are available to me." I have learned different skills or have worked for a few different companys within West and each one has taught me so much about customer service skills (for example: how interacting with a customer on the phone makes a huge impession on a company's reputation,)I have learned how to multitask multiple programs on the computer at once and how to manage my time more wisely.  I have made a couple of friends while workig for West; and we have a work social net working site available to us we can use as a resource when looking for information.  The most difficult part of the job has been (not being able to work enough hours... The pay has been very competitive and usually above minimum wage in my area; which is awesome!  

This job was an at home job, and you got to pick your own hours.
Typical day at work for me is just turning on my computer and signing on and take incoming calls, read the script that was provided to me, as well as try to sell the customer upsells. My job title is known Direct response in which I sell informercial that are on tv. My management was pretty nice, the company is located in Omaha, Nebraska so whenever I needed to talk to a manager I would have to call them directly and if there something they needed to inform me about they would contact me by email or call me directly. Hardest part about this job was trying to sell the upsells to the customers, they would call for one specific item but because it was the company policy's I had to repeat my upsells to the customer up to 3 times and they would get very frustrated.

This was my first work from home position and I loved the flexibility of being able to create my own schedule based on the hours they needed filled.  They did not set it for me.  I could work for an hour or eight straight.  If I new I needed extra money, I just put in a few extra shift.  It was really nice! Great when you are a mother of 3.  It really allowed me to still be a stay at home mom and bring in some extra cash.  Management was always available when I needed help, I find that to be a regular complaint with other companies, not this one.  The only real con I have is that they do not hire in all states.  Being that we are a military family, we moved and our new location was not a state they employ, so I had to leave my position.  I was really happy working for them!
