As the Intake Clerk, my job was very rewarding.  I helped potential patients to get started on the process of getting the necessary help they needed, anywhere from addictions, social phobias, etc.  I gathered info over the phone, (i.e. personal information, insurance information, and reason for needing WHS.  I then set up the appointment with one of our intake counselors, made a chart for the patient and got the appoint list with appropriate charts to the correct intake counselor.

I transferred within WHS to the physicians' section as the receptionist.  I was not happy with my performance in this area, and had gone to my immediate supervisor, on about 2-3 separate occasions, expressing my concern.  She informed me that I was being too hard on myself and that I was doing fine.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing was good about workday Westbrook. The boss and co workers acted as if they were above me, very rude, and unethical.  They would gossip about previous employees and disclose personal information  about them in front of the clients.  Never seen the director of Youth Services and the supervisor acted as if she didn't know what she was doing. I would not recommend anyone to work for Westbrook. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Gossip, rumors, and the judgment they place on people with SUD. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The job was stressful,. unprofessional, and not helpful for the youth. The youth were aloud to set the rules for the program. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at this company was long, stressful, and sometimes I came home crying due to the conditions I worked in.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I really enjoyed working with the clients.  Didn't like being  micro managed by staff in parkersburg

Being micro managed by parkersburg.

The environment was great at the spencer office. Parkersburg's micro managers ruined everything.  Constantly watching the cameras at day program and in the clients homes which I found to be a violation of the clients rights especially one client who chose not to wear clothes in his ome

For the most part  it was fun at the spencer office.  Micro managing from parkersburg ruined all the fun. I don't think prisoners are monitored as much as staff and clients were in the spencer office

The best thing about Westbrook is that there are many different types of jobs you can do there. IF you want to try something new, this is the place to do it. Work/life balance is excellent and if you find that it's not, there is always a different position. Department management is flexible. I work full time, have a family, and I'm in school full time. I've had zero problems. Pay has increased for all positions over the past 3 or 4 years.  I am happy here.

The goal of helping the community is always foremost. A true non-for profit with care being patient centered rather than on profit.

Heavy work load, stress. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Variable between departments. The staff are genuinely there to help the clients that require it. They meet them where they are and asdist them to living their life to their highest potential. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy! Westbrook has so many different departments and programs from inpatient to outpatient to right in their own home. The work is good work and enjoyable. It is overwhelming how much work their is.

This company seems great during training. Once you get to the house you will work you realize all training was for was to check the boxes needed to allow you to work with clients. They target straight out of high school kids who dont want to work fast food with no expierience and give little to no oversight. The idea of helping make these clients have normal happy lives is a joke. Its all about coverage. Anything to keep supervisors, or directors to have to do work. They throw you to the wolves here and they dont care because this foeld has little oversight. This company should have been shut down and overhauled years ago

Westbrook was the most unethical work environment I have ever experienced.

Management was extremely unethical and harmful to their employees.

The environment was one of fear of being fired because someone in management did not like you or wanted your position for their friend.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Great employees to work with who care for the clients but everyone stressed because of management decisions.

I enjoyed working as an SA Case Manager- helping clients being the most enjoyable aspect of the job. Leadership could be unprofessional and immature, with a lot of animosity between departments, and a lack of teamwork internally. Salary was low compared to other agencies, and they never give raises. Great first job or stepping stone to gain experience. Productivity standard was low compared to other agencies and they were real lenient on submitting authorizations or ensuring reimbursement. I felt this was an easy place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I loved my job and was going to retire there and they fired me out of nowhere. Ive never had a write up, worked extra hours and they fired me for nothing. This case is not the only one. They do it quite often. Do not work there.

They do not treat you right. They gire people for nothing!

Do not get a job there. My heart was broken from them firing me for nothing!
