I just want to say I believe in this company being a good place to work for, the things they build. But I will have to admit i received the worst training on the laser engraving machine which i was hired to start running, and i was also promised to be able to run cnc machines in the future as well but that didnt happen, feels like management is scatter brained and dont know how to run the shop, also there is employees at this company that will try to make a new employee learning look bad, probably job security. I have been running machines for years and I trained people to the best of my abilities so that they wouldn't make mistakes. Honestly at this company I felt I have had the worst training and the person training me wanting me to make a mistake, not all people I believe at this shop are like that but there is some people there. After 3 weeks of working for this company I was let go for no reason,  in my first two weeks I had gotten all the products engraved and off the floor at my station. The last 4 or 5 days was alot of standing around because I had nothing to do, I was also shadowing other operators to try and learn there machines and read the blue prints for the products they were working on. I was told today that I was let go for no reason and that other employees said I wasnt wanting to do anything which is a complete lie. After that being said good luck trying to learn and progress in this company, I dont believe I had a fair chance and other employees were trying there best to make the new guy look bad. 

I had the pleasure of working at WPP for over 5 years, and can confidently say that it was an incredible experience. 
 From day one it was evident that WPP values it's employees. The managment team fosters a supportive and collaborative work enviroment that encourages personal growth. I have always felt heard and apprciated, and this made my time with the company exceptionally rewarding. 
 WPP invests in cutting edge technology and equipment, ensuring that employees have the tools and resources the yneed to excel in their roles. This forward thinking approach not only makes the work more efficiant but also allows for continuous improvment and innovation.

I setup jobs on multiple CNC machines and programmed new parts as well as re-programmed current programs to run more efficiently. I helped less experienced machinists to trouble shoot issues, such as determine tool and work offset adjustments, if necessary.

I learned experience with Mastercam 2017.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the challenge of working to improve the accuracy and efficiency (quality) for parts and helping others to accomplish this.  I enjoyed training others who requested help.

I have a passion for this kind of work and the hardest part is the non-stop learning curve of machining, but this is also the challenging and fun part. I like learning.

WPP is a great company to work for. The owner legitimately cares for his employees. WPP went through a rough patch, but after replacing management WPP has been in the mend and things are truly getting better. A lot of the toxic employees the former management had brought in has jumped ship or was let go. WPP seems to be doing better than ever. The company is meeting and exceeding it's monthly goals. The owner has been showing his appreciation by providing catered lunches once a month and an all expense paid salmon fishing trip once a year. WPP truly is a family and everyone cares for one another.

A typical day at work required programming, set up, and operation of multiple machines. I learned everything I know from this place, which is reading blueprints, using measuring tools, and other various items in the shop. Management consisted of a father, and his two sons, who eventually took over operations when the father retired. My co-workers were all great for the most part. The hardest part of the job was trying to keep parts within a close tolerance when a machine was in need of service.The most enjoyable part of the job was when you made a product that was difficult but looked and functioned beautiful when completed.

There are better places to work in the Portland metro area.  This company has no direction.  The owners are completely absent, you only know they are there because they park their fancy vehicles right outside the front door where everyone can see them, the VP is a salesman who doesn't know how to manage people and has very narrow focus, the directors are invisible and no help, the HR department is incompetent and it seems like everyone is just going through the inefficient motions because they have no processes in place.  They have a high turnover rate for a reason.

Being on the ship floor is a nightmare at times because there are no processes on any task. No training and organization. That’s the management side of things. Now the co-workers are another story. There’s some great people in there, but a few rotten of the bunch make for a very hostile work environment. One doesn’t feel comfortable at work because of it. If you put a pen in the wrong place, all h3ll breaks loose. They act like they’re in first grade and tattle tell on you for putting that pen where it didn’t belong type of environment. Human Resources is useless. Mine as well quit but I’m desperate for a paycheck so I’m stuck. 

WPP seems to understand work life balance. There are challenges and areas for improvement however the culture is defined and everyone wants to succeed. Ownership shows up daily and they are actively engaged in day to day life. 

WPP is a pretty good place to work for, although there is a lot of favoritism that goes on.  I really do like working here, but the supervisor of the shipping department could really use some people skills training, and could learn to support his crew better and get them the tools needed to successfully complete their jobs.

WPP is an awesome place to work. My coworkers are very easy to get a long with and the benefits are very reasonable. My manager and owners of the company are some of the best people I have ever worked for. WPP constantly strives to improve its work environment and benefits to put their employees needs first.
