Westminster Manor and the nursing staff was dedicated to promoting and maintaining resident health and safety.  The work environment was clean and safe for employees.  Nurse manager turn over made for some difficulty especially in skilled nursing, but overall gaps were filled to the best of each assistant DON's ability.  Nursing assistants were qualified but their reliability was variable making staffing difficult on some days. 

Nursing accountability was a priority and promoted the professionalism among the group.  Nursing peers were fun to work with but help-sharing and help-seeking were not a priority. The physical distance between the nurses providing care didn't promote for help in certain situations despite director promotion to seek help from peers. 

Some difficulty is notable with specific management, especially, the non-clinical management.  Personal goals for care priorities related to potential bonus for management was palpable. 

Overall, a pleasure to work for the physicians caring for the patients. Families were involved in care. I would have recommended Westminster at the time of employment.

My co workers were very friendly and caring always had a smile even though the environment was not great. i learned so much for my first job out in the industrie from sanitation, timeing, organization, and detail. management overall there were more that stood out then other in actually caring about the emplyees. hardest park of my job was understanding what made the chef happy. He would change his story, yell alot, make me feel  like im worthless and even to the piont that other deparments though he was herassing us. it just got the piont that i knew i could be treated better and love my boss and working environment. All in all i took it as a learning and growing eperience. im ready to expand my klnowlege on other jobs, businesses, and even a carrer.

Company is purely profit driven. Which is to be expected, but has a high turnover. You can consistently see the same positions posted over and over again. This is due to low wage and lack of management. Most of the managers have no clue what is going on. I quit over a year ago and the high turn over rate continues. I am still in contact with some of my former co-workers. Good employees are ran out as fast as they come. The pay is a joke. I was making 17 an hours in 2023, in Austin. That is not a livable wage. If you ask for a raise it is nothing but excuses. Management who is paid well seem to do nothing and expect the same core group of low paid folks to do all the work. As a result these employees leave then it takes forever to replace them because no one wants to work for $17 an hour.  This results in more stress for lower paid employees with no help. 

Westminster is a good place to work at. There are many benefits and you meet some interesting characters. You have to be a "people pleaser" at all times and be patient in every situations. Residents are pretty friendly. The perks are fantastic... you get bonuses, retirement plan, and excellent insurance. If you're a highly professional person who doesn't mind competitive co-workers, stressful over-the-top management, and have good amount of patience for the elderly (or the ones nearing the end); this is for you. Otherwise, it's a good but stressful place to work at. You have to be on top of your work at all times.

Westminster Manor is a high quality nursing home to work in. They have a locked unit for dementia patients and two units for regular nursing and skilled nursing care. The employees are professional and really care about their jobs in order to make a great experience for the residents. There are times that it can be short-staffed so employees have to go the extra mile to pick up the slack, but mostly everyone is glad to work together as a team. The care from the doctors, NPs, nurses, and nurse's aides is exceptional.

This company has been great to work for. I have very little to complain about as most of my issues are resolved quickly. The staff here are always helpful, and easy to work with. I love my schedule as it allows me to accomplish all the things I need to do outside of work. And the culture is fun, and getting to meet and interact with the residents is an added bonus.

The edible food and clocking out.

Putting in my best effort daily just just to watch management promote there family and friends .

Old Prejudice and New Prejudice 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Super busy cuz you're always doing the work of two and three people cuz they're always short-handed.

•	Prepared, seasoned and cooked soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other    foodstuffs.
•	Read menú to estimate food requirements and ordered food from supplier or procured food from storage.
•	Adjusted thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and steam kettles.
•	Added seasonings to food during mixing and cooking, according to personal judgment and  experience.
•	Garnish and decoration for dish
•	Maintained high standards of excellence.

The management will run you into the ground and use you for multiple positions just for them to save money on positions. The residents are very well taken care of but the staff are treated like your dirt from the upper management. Healthcare managers are great but the ones that are over the whole campus are rude and will be little you all the time.

I had a great opportunity working at westminister with some amazing clients and leaders.  
They encouraged everyone to be a leader,  they encourage education and have a great work culture where everyone feels at home.
