I've been working here for about 6 months now and I really enjoy the patients I have. For the most part your experience will vary depending on the patient(s) you care for, but the company is very much willing to work with you and find the right match. Before I started I was unaware that most of their patients are pediatric, which I ended up liking a lot. You get to play with cute kids/babies and there's even a little down time if the patient takes a nap and all other nursing responsibilities are completed. For me the perks make up for the pay, which is lower than what most RNs get in a hospital setting. Also be aware that you aren't paid for the training, which is 3.5 days in the classroom (only 1 if you're experienced RN) and 2-3 shifts of shadowing (I think this is also for new nurses). They do buy lunch for the employees while training, but the hours are considered an "externship" and you don't start as an employee until your first independent shift. There is no IV management, most of the patients are pretty stable and have long term conditions requiring mechanical ventilation and/or feeding tube. I've been able to keep a fixed schedule which also allows me to do work on the side. I work 33 hours a week and receive good benefits. I recommend this to new nurses looking to get comfortable with their skills, and nurses who need flexibility and ease in their schedule. 

The work assignments offer Acute care experience with a manageable one to one patient load offering intense skill and experience without pressure.
Prior to the first work assignment, you get hands on experience thru training classes the instructor a nurse herself has a wealth of experience is very knowledgeable, warm and funny I learned a lot during the preceptor training that left me feeling comfortable and confident for the assignments ahead. each nurse is individually trained through our preceptor training and shadowing program and if you   Are not comfortable more training and shadowing can be arranged just ask. Grounded support is provided by nurse supervisor ensuring comfort on both, the nurse and patient's end.
White Glove Agency is a great place to start especially for new grads looking for experience in nursing. I would highly recommend to anyone, the are efficient, very knowledgeable and friendly Staff. They respond quickly to emails and phone calls they listen and go the distance to help you get everything you need and making sure you are comfortable to start off on the right foot.

Helping the clients to regain their independence. Getting a chance to use my gift of helping others; by supporting their personal needs.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They are not honest, and a person is forced to be part of that system to stay employed. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very vindictive.  I was injured on my way from work and I receive neither disability or worker's compensation; hence, no income for 8 months. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Not good in the latter end, as I was given mostly or possibly only patients which were physically disabled, (after leaving a case because the new aide and I didn't get along, and I informed the office and they did nothing about it)which resulted in me hurting my knee, the person who dealt with the worker's comp aspect of it, referred me to their independent doctor, who "LIED" that my injuries were just 33% or something like that; thereby reducing my worker's comp from approximately $1800 plus to $600 plus per month, SO I WAS FORCED TO RETURN TO WORK AS I HAD BILLS TO PAY.

Bring truthful...WhiteGlove is persistent in getting all cases staffed.  They will  all and hound you for your availability.  However, I commend them for that. EVERY patient deserves quality medical and nursing care.

They were the 1st agency that took me in when I had no experience...and Yes, I started with a lower rate than other nurses and made the best out of their 3-day intensive in person training.  I took notes and paid attention on real-life current nursing techniques. The book and practicals are limited. Many patients are heavy or thin with flaccid/ spastic / contractures if limbs....it is essential to shadow as many nurses until you are comfortable positioning a patient.
I was taught how to improvise with pillows for inserting foleys, how to move patients up in bed to decrease friction and skin burns / tears...the list goes on....Thank you to all White Glove nurses, front office staff, coordinators, schedulers, team members, case managers, Greeters, On-Call personnel. You guys Rock!!! I will miss you all. I am forced to move out of NYS because the rents are ridiculously high for a 1 BR ($2,500-3,000). 

I love the job as it is minimally stressful, and they offer very flexible shift hours. The case coordinators also do their best to find you a case at a convenient geographical location that suits you. I just wish they offered other job income benefits, such as time-and-a-half salary for holidays, paid vacation and sick days, or even being present for the whole shift. I got really frustrated one time when I arrived to my case on time, but because the client didn't answer the door on time, I wasn't able to clock in at the designated start of my shift. I tried to explain the circumstances to a staff member at the agency, but they said that "your pay period starts as soon as you see the patient" regardless of whether you were there on time or not. I feel this is unfair towards the employee. 

It's a great job, but it's also a dead-end career. Not for someone who has a desire to move up in the workforce.

White glove community care is a well organised and a forthright home care agency. We have alot of black Aricans and Americans working for the agency without much discrimination.The compensation is also conmesurate but the job security is questionable because most employees faith depends on your relationship with your supervisor.
The supervisor has the power to fire and hire at will without even given the home health aide a fair chance to defend herself no warning or what so ever before final discharge.They also need to improve the job site location description for home health aides. The issuse of not paying for public holidays and special consideration for weekend workers should also be look into from time to time.
Nevertheless it was my pleasure having the opportunity to work with such a reliable,compassionate and caring home care agency.

For the first 7 months with this company, everything was great. They had a wide variety of cases in all locations, very flexible with hours. However, they can be very disrespectful towards their nurses when we don't rearrange our lives to cater to their customers' needs. At one point, they demanded that I stand outside a client's house and 2 hours since the patient was going arrive home late. They also harass nurses to work, sending non stop calls, texts, emails. They will continue to harass you even when you say "no" to them.   If you call out, get ready for some serious questioning and an attitude. There were a few times I was sent to a client's home for a scheduled 8 hour shift which actually turned out to be a 5 hour shift or a 1 hour shift. Their pay is also the lowest in the industry. No holiday overtime pay either. 

I LOVE BEING A HOME HEALTH AIDE, I'VE BEEN DOING THIS JOB FOR OVER 2 TO 3 YEARS NOW. I DO MY JOB & I DO IT AT THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. TYPICAL DAY AT WORK FOR ME  DEPENDS ON THECASE THE AGENCY GIVES US. WE HAVE NO BREAKS, NO HEALTHCOVERAGES & SOME OF THEIR CLIENTS SMOKES. THE CLIENTS SOMETIMES WONT EVEN ALLOW US TO EAT LUNCH , SNACK NOR DINNER & WE NEED THE FOOD TO GIVE OUR BODY THAT ENERGY TO CARRY OUT OUR DUTIES. SOME OF THE CLIENTS CAN GET SO NASTY VERBALLY & PHYSICALLY YOU CAN ASK TO LEAVE OR CALL THE AGENCY NEVER LEAVE THE CLIENTS BY THEMSELVES. WE HAVE TO COMPLY WITH WHAT EVER THE CLIENT SAYS ITS THERE HOUSE NOT OURS. SOMEDAYS ARE MORE STRESSING THEN OTHERS BUT IF YOU LOVE HELPING PEOPLE & TRYING TO HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE YOU'LL GET BY IN THIS FIELD, THIS FIELD IS DEFINITELY NOT A CAREER CHOICE  MORE OF A STEPING STONE DO YOUR RESEARCH

I have had a good experience in this 7 years I have working at white glove . Met wonderful people who helped me grow as a person and work wise.

I think every were you work stress is will happen depends on how you coo with things same level of stress is not the same for me as it’s for someone else . For example the way I get stress is when someone else does not produce the same way I do and you know they can but they just do the bare minimum.

The work environment is fun we all have different type of culture but we all combine into one and make it work.

A typical day for me is fast and full of work which I’m ok with because I need to be busy .

Uncertainty as to when per diem job opportunities will be available, but they aggressively work with you to maximize your placement potential.
