I've been at WLF for over a year now, and I work as an intake specialist for the employment department. When I first started, there were very few of us, but these last few months, our department has grown so much, and I believe it is the company's goal to continue growing. A typical day for me is getting to my desk, calling potential clients, and doing their consultations and determining if we are able to help them out. If we are able to help someone out, it is my job to sign them on as a client, with the incentive of a bonus. 

This past year I've learned a lot about not only employment law, but about people in general, and how to try to familiarize yourself with them in order to get them to be comfortable and have them open up about their experiences. Once in a while, you do deal with a difficult client, but our current manager is pretty good at helping the team with dealing with these type of characters. We are all a team, so we try to help each other out as much as we can.

If you're lazy, you probably shouldn't work here. I know I'm not the best employee at our company, but I have a drive to always do better, to always improve. There are always calls to be made and consultations to be done. There are consultations in which the caller will be rude, but you have to learn not to take that personally and treat them with kindness, after all, most of the calls we get are from people who have been negatively affected by their employer. 

Working at WLF, you must follow the dress code (business professional) and cover up any tattoos. 

The hardest part of my job used to be having to make phone calls every day, since I'm a textbook example of an introvert, but I'm so used to it by now. It gets easier with every phone call. 

The most enjoyable part of my job is honestly getting to see my team everyday. I've met so many cool people who have become some of my closest friends. Everyone celebrates each other sign-ups on the team chat, which is cool because there's someone always acknowledging you on your successes. There are other perks as well: such as getting a bonus for signing up a client, getting a bonus if we hit our monthly goal, free food, and company outings. You don't want to miss the holiday party, trust me. There is also a lot of overtime offered. 

Overall, I recommend working here if you're business minded. Working here makes me feel like a professional, and it feels so prestigious to say you work for WLF. This is a very well known law firm. I received a pretty good raise after my first year and I'm very excited about my future at this company and hopefully adding more years. I'm excited to hopefully move up the ranks and I know WLF will provide those opportunities. 

I consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to work at a job that I love, with people I actually like. At WLF, your only limit is yourself. There are ample opportunities for advancement if you prove yourself capable. It is a very busy firm, and not all are able to keep up, but for those of us who love the challenge, and love working with similarly-minded people, and above all - love HELPING people, it is truly an ideal place. That's not to say things are absolutely perfect - no workplace ever is, but whatever the difficulties, I never come to work dreading the day, and whatever conflicts there are between my coworkers and myself are easily hugged out (literally).

The pay is more than fair, the management team are tough, but understanding. Despite the fact that it is a law firm, we have plenty of fun moments and laughter and inside jokes. I can honestly say I have a good time at work. It is a customer service job, and like all customer service jobs, it can be very hard at times, but knowing others stand beside you and listen to you and support you when things are rough makes all the difference.

I truly consider WLF my family. Families certainly fight (and there will naturally be some family members we would rather not see at the holiday dinner table), but at the end of the day, we love and appreciate each other. I cannot say that for anywhere else I've worked, and it is a privilege to be able to grow here. We appreciate every new employee and I hope we get more qualified people to join our growing family.

Appreciation is shown in so many ways despite having over one hundred employees.  The CEO will stop in my office to thank me for a job well done, or send an email of gratitude, and sometimes order lunch in for the entire office.  We have had some great company events with no expense spared: Dodger game, Dave & Busters, Bowling/Karaoke Night and an awesome Holiday Party.  They even brought in a nurse for flu shots to make it convenient for us.

Recently surveys went out to gather feedback on benefits and how we feel about the company.  It shows that management/leadership really cares to make this an even better place to work.  

We have access to the best tools needed to get the job done.  It does require a very fast pace and no room for slackers. I must say the days go by quickly because we are busy.

I have been here almost a year and I am truly grateful to be part of the leadership team and work for such a great Firm.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I've learned so much about personal injury and employment law. Although when it comes to our employment, pay, and benefits, there's nothing we could actually do. No one would dare make a complaint or even voice out an opinion. People fear telling what they think and how they feel because leadership might misunderstand and they will find a way to get you out of the firm! Employees try to keep their patience and endure everyone's attitude for the bonus, HMO, medical, and insurance that's all paid by the firm. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Surrounded with people who gossip, backstab, and lie in a workplace full of drama. You'll feel the stress as soon as you walk in the door! The work atmosphere is toxic and the job itself is toxic! All employees become miserable at one point. Even if you're strong and try to fight all that, it's gonna break you at one point because the toxic atmosphere never goes away. It's been there and will always be there. Leadership is toxic too! With their constant pressure, unreasonable goals, and harassment! It almost felt like a nightmare!

The work environment at Wilshire Law Firm was rigid, stressful, and unnecessarily controlling. Strict dress code rules were enforced despite little to no client interaction, which felt disconnected from the actual job and added pointless pressure.

Management felt inconsistent, and favoritism was hard to ignore. Scheduling, recognition, and growth opportunities did not seem to be based solely on performance, which made sustained effort feel unrewarded.

The culture was restrictive and did not feel genuinely inclusive. Training dropped off quickly after onboarding, leaving employees to figure things out on their own while still being held to high expectations.

Feedback focused more on calling out mistakes than developing employees. This approach hurt morale and created an atmosphere where people felt tense rather than supported.

There were some good coworkers, but the overall culture made the role exhausting and discouraging. This is not an environment that supports growth, transparency, or long-term sustainability for everyone.

Wilshire is the kind of place where your actual ability matters only until internal politics take over, which seems to happen as soon as you realize the partners have already decided who matters and that hierarchy is effectively permanent. I worked there for almost three years and saw the same pattern repeat constantly — a small group gets  the opportunities and everyone else is shut out, and it is very clear it has nothing to do with merit. When you ask about it directly or try to push for more meaningful work, you get polished explanations about staffing and timing, but what is really being communicated is that access is already decided and you are not part of it. The gap between the stated commitment to merit based advancement and the actual reality is so extreme that it becomes normal background noise rather than something you can challenge. There is no real incentive to push back because the structure is fixed, so you either accept being permanently outside the inner circle or you leave. I left.


My experience there was a mixed bag. All the groups I was on were mills. People were generally kind to me and my peers were friendly and kind for the most part. My experience with attorneys was a mixed bag. Some of them were great, some not so much.  It's run like a large corporation that doesn't care much for their employees. There is constant turnover and job insecurity among employees. Multiple groups were dissolved as attorneys were terminated - the partner I worked for was terminated 3 months after I got there and I was put on a new team. Some attorneys were horrendous at responding to requests from paralegals, especially requests from clients for a phone call or a loan. I rarely got feedback on my work other than redlines. Finally, I had an extreme distaste for the way management treated employees. It quickly became obvious that management considered employees as tools and not people.

Your role as a Case Manager at Wilshire Law Firm will consist of managing large case loads of diverse Personal Injury cases. 

At any OTHER FIRMS, you would be doing the same with less resources available, less help, less pay, and less acknowledgment with little to no possibility of getting promoted or appreciated for your hard work.

Although I have only been working here for approx. 3 weeks, it is immediately apparent that people genuinely care about one another, and leadership goes far and above to ensure that the work culture and environment is such that people do dread coming in to work. They were also very open and upfront with me regarding expectations, which I appreciated because I felt that it remove a layer of doubt and guesswork, that allowed me to hit the ground running. Finally, working here, I've notice  that your professional growth and development is really in your hands because they will give you opportunities and the tools to succeed. In sum, it isn't without its shortcomings in some aspects but they are minuscule in comparison to all of the positives. They got the important things right, which I think counts when evaluating a workplace.

This law firm expects the best from all it's employees. Those who perform at high levels will receive praise and professional satisfaction  regularly. Those who cannot keep up with the pace of the office and the work load should look somewhere else. 

Co-workers are great and very supportive. In our department, we are regularly in touch with the rest of the firm. We serve as an integral part of the whole; we are constantly reminded of our value and management shows their gratitude in various ways (food, bonuses, etc.) Our supervisor is highly knowledgeable and supportive. Not many places have supervisors who would sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the team.

This is not a laid back firm. If you don't mind hard work then consider working here; it will be rewarded.
