I have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent at Wound Care Plus LLC.  I have been with the company now for roughly 6 months.  They are a family friendly company that realizes family comes first.  This approach is invaluable to me as I have three small children. I love the flexibility, earning potential and variety that my job brings on a day-to-day basis.  
Our daily schedules are flexible and we have different routes each day.  We are able to work independently outside of an office environment which is a refreshing change from my previous positions.  I enjoy meeting and caring for new patients at different facilities.  There are certainly challenges that come with the job however wound care has been rewarding for me knowing that I can  make a difference in my patients’ quality of life.  
This is also the first job I have had that I can earn a variable income based on how hard I work.  It’s reassuring to know my hard work will be rewarded in my efforts to help support my family.  The harder I work and push myself, the more earning potential I have.  
Lastly, my previous positions were much more physically demanding on my body as I would often be asked to stand for multiple hours.  This position has helped improve my physical well being and helped me be more productive on a day to day basis both professionally and at home.   

Working with patients in an attempt to deliver care to geriatric population. Either you are clinical (nurse practioner) or you are administrative. Growth and learning are obsolete here. The administrative staff are over extended or in some cases checked out from the operations. There is a thought of what should be happening vs what is actually happening. Administration is challenging to work with, and protocols are non-existent.  The hardest part of the job is the company's inability to be open and honest, schedules are utter chaos and often times providers have last minute changes due to management not getting schedules completed in a timely and efficient manner. Quality talent isn't retained due to consistent issues within the administrative dynamic. The best part about the company is the patients and traveling within facilities. The gossip mill runs rampid in this business, and unfortunately management doesn't help with that. From clinical professionals understanding the office environment is negative when managers are present due to micromanagement and unchecked attitudes. However, support staff seems friendly and helpful. 

Working for the company has taught me a lot about advancements in wound care, research, education and technology. I truly appreciate the support and opportunity. The company is still striving to meet CMS guidelines and standards at highest level. Work life balance although on busy work day charting can go well into the late evening. I felt experience came after I started, wasn’t addressed from beginning to end so a lot of information I learned on my own. Sometimes troubleshooting technical issues can be frustrating especially if it occurs during patient visits. RVUs are overrated due to the fact that you have to meet certain standards and patient goals in order to reach these bonuses. Management seems overwhelmed in their roles and need additional resources as well as support. This latest partnership with another company I don’t feel was emphasized in the right way and if we are truly family focused it leaves you wondering how to challenge your next steps. Like with everything else I will figure it out like a true champ!

Managers tend to be very flexible and  accommodate personal life events. They feel that having a work life balance is very important.

● Pay & benefits
Full-time nurse practitioners receive a baseline salary and then have opportunities to make additional income through RVUs. When I started as a new graduate nurse practitioner I was extremely pleased with my income.

● Job security and advancement
We are always growing so there’s plenty of opportunity to work and see patients. I received a promotion within six months of starting the position.

● Management
Our managers are like family. They are always there to provide support and answer questions.

● Culture
The company is very collaborative-based. There is opportunity to do telehealth which is very important during the COVID-19 pandemic.

● Overall
I have really enjoyed working for this company and watching it continue to grow and develop. I have learned so much in my role. I appreciate the opportunity to build my own practice in the facilities that we provide services to. Healing wounds is extremely rewarding!

Management is inconsistent, with being totally uninterested one day and micromanaging the next. Benefits decrease, hours increase, advanced training never happens, and the push is to keep seeing more and more patients each day. Taking a day off means seeing those patients on another day because there is limited to no coverage for days off. (You are still charged vacation time even though you may have worked more than 40 hours.) Instead of discussing work issues with the individual, global e-mails are sent out that are often vague, and obviously about something that happened with one or two people. The needs and wants of the office staff take priority and the actual care providers are treated like second class citizens. The patients are the best part of the job, and meeting new people in different facilities keeps it interesting. The work itself is great, but the company is not. Will be moving on if conditions do not improve.

After working in family practice and hospital sub-specialty, I have found the last 2+years at WCP to be the best of my career. The patients and longterm care staff look forward to weekly visits. It is still healthcare and you will be stretched, but being a part of progress and knowing that you are making a difference, as wounds shrink and patient quality of life improves, is a very tangible, rewarding experience. The position is self-paced and independent, but colleagues are approachable and a phone call away. As is the office staff and leadership. Providers feel vested because, they are the heads of their practices and are  frequently in communication with company medical  directors and president. Despite Martha’s national notoriety and numerous educational commitments, she is always available for us to ask questions about regulations or business operations.  It is also nice to receive pay and benefits that are better than I have had at other employers.

WCP has been a great place to work! As a relatively new NP and no significant wound care experience, they took me under their wing and have provided great education, training and the tools I need to heal wounds. I enjoy this role as we visit multiple nursing facilities a day, so it’s perfect for people who don’t like being confined to an office environment. We use the latest technology and treatments to care for our patients, and I am always learning new things. There is flexibility in your everyday schedule as long as you are communicating well with the nursing facilities. Management is accessible and supportive. You are paid a very fair base salary and then the remainder of your income is made based on RVUs, so your potential earnings are much higher than most places can offer. No weekends and no holidays!

It's not bad. This is still a relatively small company and they'll hire new grads, which is nice. You're independent, but you're also fairly alone. You can go weeks between seeing another WCP employee. 
Good flexibility in the schedule, but sometimes you're charting into the evening. 
Pay depends on how many RVUs you earn, which incentivizes ordering unnecessary tests and procedures, but I guess that's modern American healthcare. 
Management seems overworked. The EMR system used is clunky and glitchy. 
But if you want a job that allows you to drop your kids off at school and pick them up in the afternoon, this is good option. 

I really enjoy the work. I feel like this is a great way to reach a population of patients that would not get this kind of care otherwise. Cool and innovative modalities are available to assist in providing great bedside care and treatment recommendations. Compensation for great work is an added benefit. I really like the autonomy. Net-working and asking questions is encouraged so you are not really alone. 
Most days I’m home by early afternoon if not before then. Charting is a hassle; somedays more than others. The company is growing fast and so sometimes it feels like communication is slow to disseminate. 

Amazing culture and support. The managers and leaders are fantastic. There was always someone available if I had any questions or concerns about any situation or issue that I may have been dealing with. I experienced personal growth that I never thought possible! As a provider for wound care plus I was given the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life everyday by providing excellent care for patients. This was the best working environment that I've ever experienced! The benefits are great. I was provided a company vehicle, which is just another perk that I had with wound care plus.
