For several weeks I was part of Wyckoff and my experience in the internship as pharmacy technician was extraordinary and the experience I got was enough to mold me as I advanced onto my career. The experience I had at the beginning was difficult as when one starts a new job and feels disoriented so I felt the first weeks, but with the passage of time I try hard to do things well, paying attention to everything they taught me and developing my knowledge. Working in the hospital helped me understand many aspects to be a successful pharmacy technician. every day I learned something good, whether personal and academic.In the internship period I can also say that I was very blessed because I was surrounded by incredible people who were with me willing to teach me to guide me, correct me and motivate me every day. Without a doubt, my experience in the boarding school was successful and as a result I got more experiences and knowledge that will serve me well in my career. In my internship I learned many things first of all personally to have a good working relationship with my co-workers. I also learned that it is very important to have the ability to multi-tasking during the working hours, make punctual, kind, polite, respectful and responsible when doing my work, since working in a medical environment implies the life of the person. In academics the internship helped me a lot since I had the opportunity to put into practice everything I learned in my classes such as delivering, doing labels, Pyxes, dispensing medications, drug reports and avoiding medical errors. The classes that have helped me prepare for the internship I can say was all my classes for example Dosage Calculation, Administrative Aspects of Pharmacy Technology, Drug Classifications etc.

The life of a Nurse Technician can be enjoyable but at times frustrating, overwhelming and sad. Working in the health environment has broaden my expectation on how I see and view life. I look forward to every shift where I can see new situations and learn how to deal with them and assist my patients to the best of my ability. Getting on the job being able to carry out the nursing process(assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating) is my routine duty at every shift. My superiors will assesses my level of work and often given some sort of motivation be it extrinsic or intrinsic. One of the hardest things I encounter is lack of proper communication amongst staff, however, this problem is not prevalent. Despite this, I do my best to ensure my patients needs ae met and when they are happy I am happy, when they are comfortable I am comfortable. I can end my shift with a smile on face because my job was achieved. I have great belief in our culture at.......which is; to achieve optimal patient care to all of our patients

The GPR program at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center gave me the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of dentistry.  There were oral surgeon, periodonstist, prosthodontist, pediatric, orthodontist, general dentist and dental anesthesiology attendings to guide and teach whenever needed.  This program gave me the experience required to best treat patients. Experience gained in patient management, behavioral management for children, managing severely medically compromised patients treatment planning, restorative, periodontics, removable and fixed prosthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and managing dental emergencies. Furthermore, experience was gained in treating children, autistic/mentally challenged patients for complete oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia and IV sedation in the operating room. My time at Wyckoff also gave me the invaluable knowledge to become an overall better doctor and healthcare provider through rotations such as internal medicine, emergency room, and anesthesia.

I provided consultative services as an Evaluator (2002-2005) to the project which was intended to document the integration of primary and behavioral health care. I guided the Principal Investigator in preparing the administrative and social service staff to evaluable by incorporating staff training, using uniform instruments (GYPRA), and client record reporting order and techniques (SOAP Notes).

Our biggest achievement was that we skewed the national results of GYPRA initial and follow-up results at 92% at a time when most community organizations experienced difficulty of achieving the required 80% return. The overall experience acted as a catalyst for our co-authorship of (2007) Cultural Competent Healthcare: From Integration to Transparency. The manual documents the regulatory requirements and internal case manegement processes for the cultural competent integration of primary and behavioral healthcare.

When you are having unique pressures from relationship with patients, family members and employees.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
In my workplace I value open communication and collaboration. To maintain a positive work environment, I actively engage with my colleagues, encouraging idea-sharing and mutual support. I believe in addressing challenges with constructive feedback and finding.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Supervising  staff, monitoring call traffic, and ensuring patient satisfaction.

My day as a director would be to make sure all aspects of billing is attended especially if it affected billing.  I learned  so much as a director both professionally and mentally, I learned that nothing is hard once you put your mind to deal with it with an open and successfull approach. Dealing with other management team I grew as a person and learned each person strenght is different and I educated myself from the strenght of other managmentt.
My team both my mangers and staff is an awesome group and have learned that they were my battle front in everything I did.
I continued to say the hardest part of my job was telling an employee he/she will be losing their job due to job cut at the organization.
The most enjoyable part of my job was knowning I had a great team of peole to work with on every project.

My years of service, has always been about the patients needs and wants without hesitation. Without the patients we wouldn't have jobs. I treated every patient with the same loving care and respect they deserve. As an Admitting Manager, there are different situations that you are faced with on a daily basis you have your patients with needs and you have your staff with needs and wants as well. I can honestly say that every situation was handle in a respective and efficient manner. Every day is a learning lesson there was nothing hard about my job. I managed my daily duties very diligently with care for the patients and staff. I enjoyed my days working at Wyckoff Heights Hospital sad to say I was laid off after 10 beautiful years.

I took a volunteer position in the Maternity department over the summer and it was by far a wonderful and incredible experience. I was able to assist other nurses as well as learn how the clinical work field is like. A typical day for me involves cleaning the whiteboards inside the patients' rooms, restocking the supplies, reprinting and organizing patient bind folders, answering phone calls, delivering documents to another department to simply monitoring babies and temporarily babysitting the youngsters. The most enjoyable part of my job was having the task of monitoring babies during the nurses' break time. Though the break is unfortunately short, they do serve free lunches which is a bonus.
Despite the odds, I'm forever grateful for my experience at Wyckoff. And trust me, you won't regret it.

A typical day at work Is to start the day with a positive outlook and expect the best, hoping that you can help to save a persons life is more than a great reward. Getting along with my co workers makes my job a lot better having conflict at work does not give you the drive to desire to be in that environment, so for me as a friendly individual it makes it easier being a team player. management can be scary at times but for the most part having good communication skills makes it less scary. The hardest part may be analyzing how to approach a patient who is non complaint, the most enjoyable moment is when you can be of service to a patient and put a smile on their face, make them feel better or help to save their life and for the to come back and tell you thank you.

Everyone who works here is not the nicest. Very cliquey and gossipy! 
The orientation process is unorganized. It should be 10 weeks but really in fact it’s only 9 weeks. Management are micro managers and will throw you under the bus for any little thing. Everything is done on paper. Scheduling gets moved around without notice. No work life balance .
Patient ratios are unsafe and tiring. Assignments are not based upon acuity, but which rooms are nearby. I am already burned out. Nurses and nurse techs are not nice. Nursing office has favorites in which they would protect over you in a heartbeat. Doctors are lack luster and put your license at risk. Patients are disrespectful and unwilling to receive help.
