I've been a BT at Yellow Bus ABA and the clinical support is solid. BBAs are responsive when I have questions about session notes or behavior plans. I like that we run structured social skills and communication programs through games, role-play, and staff-directed tasks. The company provides materials for programs like turn-taking, tone/volume, and phone skills. Pay is on time and they offer incentives like this review bonus. Kids make progress and it feels rewarding.

Scheduling can change last minute due to client cancellations, which is standard in ABA but still affects hours.

Collaborative and client-centered. BCBAs and BTs work together on programs targeting social skills, communication, and engagement. Supervisors are responsive and open to questions. The team cares about doing good work for the kids and families we serve.

A typical day starts with reviewing the client's behavior plan and prepping materials before session. During session | run structured social skills and communication programs through gameplay, role-play, and staff-directed tasks. That can look like using a turn-taking board game to target good sportsmanship, accepting losing, and waiting for a turn. I also work on
engagement by having the client stay with tasks for up to 2 minutes with minimal prompts. Throughout the day I target appropriate tone and volume, model responses, and run phone conversation practice. I take data after each trial and write session notes at the end. BBAs are available for support if needed.

Working as a Behavioral Therapist at Yellow Bus ABA has been such a positive experience. I currently work with one client in a home-based setting, and despite being home based, I still feel very supported by the company. My BCBA is incredibly understanding, supportive, and always willing to teach and guide me when needed. Working with your clients can be stressful but it’s not always that way. Some clients might be having a bad day and just aren’t able to communicate that, which is as BT help the client navigate their emotions and find ways to communicate how the are feeling as well as how to cope with their emotions.

I personally go to the clients home which can be challenging if parent/guardian interfere but once the parent/guardian trust you, it’s smooth sailing. The company offers many trainings to help navigate working in-home and working in the clinics. The culture of the company with everyone that I’ve gotten a chance to meet was very welcoming and helpful. My BCBAs are always willing to help me figure out the best methods to appropriately address my clients or model how a program is meant to be executed. Overall, I enjoy working with Yellow Bus ABA. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work in home so my day starts with greeting my clients, working on pairing/socialization and implementing skill acquisition. Depending on how the client is feeling, my session can run smoothly or it can be more difficult and require a decrease in demands from the clients and engage in the clients preferred activities. Typically, my day with my clients run smoothly with only a few instances where my clients aren’t having the best day.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I love the flexibility, bonus pay opportunities, and the culture of the company which very much focuses on making sure employees feel supported and happy. I have the freedom to make my own schedule, make last-minute changes as needed, and work remotely at times. I also enjoy feeling connected to other BCBA through the company's bi-weekly BCBA roundtables.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I don't often feel a lot of stress at the company, but at times it can be stressful not meeting my minimum billing requirement if there are numerous cancellations. However, the company is flexible in working with you through novel situations and they are very understanding. Sometimes the travel can also get a little stressful.

The work environment is very collaborative and I receive a lot of support from my lead BCBA, who is only a text or call away. The company also puts a lot of emphasis towards maintaining a culture where employees are kept happy. There are several bonus opportunities, incentives and perks to being with the company that I benefit from.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My typical day varies which creates a lot of variety in my schedule. My typical day usually consists of a mix of center and home-based hours providing supervision to BTs. I also will provide parent training, conduct assessments, and partake in numerous unbillable tasks like updating programming and making materials for my clients.

Working as a Behavior Technician at Yellow Bus ABA has been a very rewarding experience. A typical day includes working one-on-one with children with autism, implementing behavior plans, supporting communication and social skills, and helping clients reach their individual goals in both home and center-based settings. The work can be challenging at times, but it is also incredibly meaningful.

Through this position, I have learned a great deal about patience, behavior management, communication, and how important consistency and positive reinforcement are when working with children. I have also grown professionally by learning how to adapt to different client needs and situations every day.
