I really don't have anything good to say about this company but I have plenty of negative experiences to share.
Limited training; employees are expected to learn independently while managing active cases
Inefficient systems requiring multiple platforms and logins, which impacts productivity
High and often unrealistic daily task expectations (e.g., 40 tasks per day regardless of case complexity)
Management is frequently unavailable due to meetings, making it difficult to receive timely support
Inconsistent communication and lack of transparency from leadership

Advice to Management:
Improving training, system efficiency, and communication would significantly enhance employee performance and morale. Re-evaluating workload expectations to better reflect the complexity of cases, as well as ensuring leadership accessibility and professionalism, would also help retain staff and improve overall operations.
Summary:
While the work itself is meaningful, the work environment presents significant challenges. Employees are expected to make impactful decisions on complex cases within very limited timeframes, often without adequate support or resources. This creates a high-pressure environment that may not be sustainable long-term. YoungWilliams is contracted for El Paso County Colorado and they handle all child support cases for El Paso County.

The work life balance here is terrible! They are extremely picky on the most smallest things. You could be one minute late and you will get a point. The systems are extremely slow and outdated so it can take you anywhere from 5-15 minutes to clock in so to be safe you should show up 20+ minutes early. Not to forget that the walk from your car to the office is around 6-8 minutes long because if you do not want to pay $30/month for parking you have to park close to a quarter of a mile away. So if it is storming or raining…good luck! Even after explaining to your supervisor that the system was slow they will not fix your time and point you. You have to tell your supervisor where you are at all times, you have to tell the management about you going to the bathroom or scheduled break. You have to tell the manager if your two minutes late going on break due to being on a call. You are CONSTANTLY being watched and the management definitely has favorites. Everyone micromanages your and it’s just overall very annoying and the environment is just very cold (literally it’s freezing in there) and dead. No one has ever expressed that they have enjoyed working there and you can tell the turnover rate is very high. I knew I had to get out of there after my first day. 

Now onto the good things! They do have a lot of perks with working with the company and the office building that the call center is located at it very nice. There is a cafeteria and a gym so you won’t have to waste anytime going to grab lunch so you get the maximum time out of your breaks. The office building is located in Clinton, MS so even if you go off campus there’s many options to choose from. They actually do take the time to train you, after my first week training I felt like I was fully prepared for the floor. Training is three weeks in all so the rest of the two weeks is reviewing and making sure that you’re comfortable. Training is also a full 40 hour work week so you do not have to wait to get a full paycheck. 



Training is poor to non existent. After working in enforcement for one year, I switched positions in the company to further my knowledge, when I switched I was literally shown my desk and was told to "ask questions". Two days after I switched the trainer went on leave for two months after sitting with me twice. I was expected from day one to meet team goals which no one on the team was doing and at the end of the second month I was put on a pip and was terminated at the end of the month for not making goals even though no one else had made them either.
The work enviroment is what I would describe as hostile. The treatment some employees receive is completely biased as supervisors have their "favorites" and allow them to literally do nothing all day while others are working from the moment they come in and get absolutely no recognition. There was also absolutely no advancement opportunities, there were no other positions to move to. Only different departments. I was never given the option to go back to my original position after learning I was not making goals which I thought was unfair considering I was told that I was the top performer when I was in Enforcement.
Supervisor interaction is almost completely non existent, in my first position with the company my supervisor never voluntarily spoke to me unless she had a direct question. Otherwise I never saw her. The pay was completely unequal if you had a BA you would get paid at least two dollars and hour more than another person doing the exact same job. The whole enviroment was like a high school atmosphere. I learned that a fellow coworker who had a problem with me was literally running to the supervisors office to bad mouth me from day one. What I found appalling was the fact the supervisor never questioned me about anything that was said. Essentially the atmosphere caused my coworkers to tattle on each other like school children in order to make themselves look better.

A typical workday can vary depending on the atmosphere and the energy inside the office. Usually, the negative energy came from a couple of the supervisors. However, I will not go into detail to degrade or speak negatively about those individuals. Being employed by this contractor taught me a lot about how the Department of Children and Family Services operates and the overwhelming stress it can have on the client, the case workers, and the customer service representatives within the call center. But the greatest accomplishment and the proudest moment was always knowing how to resolve the issues and truly become as close to the client in the moment of a call and be a great listener who cares and fulfills my desire to provide the best customer service experience I can provide with as much detailed and need-to-know information I had to offer to make sure that the client becomes stress-free with me ending the call knowing that I just made the client feel the best relieve possible because I assured them that the means they depend on for their livelihoods is being handled with the utmost urgency and that their families will be able to have a means of providing food for their children as well as the disabled and elderly that depends on other benefit alternatives to survive month-to-month. Management varied depending on who was on your management team. The hardest part of the job was downtime. The most enjoyable part was providing customer service and the friendships I gained.

I was excited about working for this company.I had applied for several years and was happy to get an interview! I felt confident I would be able to do the job since training is longer than most companies give you. Training went okay the first few days then we spent majority of the time hearing about the trainers son, boyfriend and about her weight loss journey. At first I appreciated the break, then, it got out of hand! On the few occasions she talked about something other than her sons graduation, she would get upset if someone didn't understand something which turned into her leaving the room for 15-20 minutes! Once my class started doing the job….. most of us felt lost and didn’t know what to do. I felt like I learned more with the other people that worked there helping me than I did the entire time I was in training.

The management staff is mediocre… Most of them spend their time gathered in offices talking about people all day. The few that wasn’t involved in the daily gossip sessions seemed to be drowning in work. The Project Manager stays locked in her office most days…. to try to talk to her is pointless.

Rules change from week to week depending on what type of mood they are in and they don’t apply to everybody. The job itself requires focus and patience which is fine but the pay SUCKS considering you are pretty much doing state level work! The people that has been there for a while are burnt out, over worked and under paid. Most working two jobs which is CRAZY!  To say I was disappointed is an understatement I am so LUCKY my old job allowed me to come back! That place is a JOKE!

The job it self is not that bad. They only give raises once a year in January it doesnt matter if you started in October or January raises are about the same for everyone they really don't look into job performance. This company will not accept a doctor's note either. You will still be pointed even if a doctor feels you should not be at work it does not matter. They will use your pto and you will receive points. Depending on the supervisor you get you may have someone that will assist you or you'll get a supervisor that is lazy and doesnt want to do anything.As for upper management... She is a joke. Unless she likes you or your a butt kisser don't even think your going to get promoted. She will pick and choose who has to follow the policy and who does not.   When even the Supervisors and leads are constantly looking for new employment and are willing to even take a pay cut you know that there is something wrong with the work environment. I worked there for almost 2 years, I honestly believe the state will take the contract from this company. The information that is provided to the client is often wrong and when upper management cares more about the people who is working there then putting the client first eventually the company will fail at its job. If your looking for a job to pay your bills until you can find something better this is the place for you. When most who work in the call center had been there for a year or less and the turn around rate is as high as it is you know there must be something wrong. Good luck to everyone that works there.

Young Williams took over as a contracted state Management Company for Nashville-Davidson County child support.

      Without speaking negative about the company itself, I personally could not connect with this company after the previous company in which in my opinion was a better management company to work as an employee.

     Although the company has the intent to make child support collections to increase at a faster rate, it lacks the respect towards it's own employee's making it a very hostile working environment with a proven record of a high turn over rate.
   
      I retired after seven great years working for child support due to the fact for me it became very difficult to work for the company.  As with any other job you have duties on a daily basis that are required to be completed but, there were many very difficult  duties to perform on a daily basis with very little time in which to do it. This company's main goal was to compete with the past management company to prove it was better when in my opinion with the working experience to work for both company it is not. One of there biggest problems it they forget there are several young women with children there may have emergencies that require them to leave is not respected by the company and it is held against them. No time is provided for family and how is this possible when the job itself consist widely reflects helping other families.

Young Williams has one of the most astounding group of men and women dedicated to helping that I have ever met. The work can be hard but it's it easy to look to your fellow employees for a smile or a kind word. 
That being said if it had been possible to separate the people from the business I would have been more then happy to continue working for my previous employer.
The business has no idea what it is that actually goes on or what is needed to make the project succeed. It is treated as a call center or a numbers game and is stripped of any real dedication to people. It's CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT people! You can't remove the human element and still expect the business to succeed! Employee's are not given sufficient training before being put on the floor and expected to be able to know the legal proceedings well enough to explain them to an employer who has never had to withhold from an employee. The truly unlucky new hires will even have to try to explain to a non-custodial parent why the payments that he/she is sending in are wrong because they need to come from the business not from them personally. Employees are not given the tools they need to succeed and the equipment is so out of date and faulty that its collapsing around it grotesquely antiquated weight.

A typical day at work is answering somewhat difficult phone calls. The management and staff both will work with you until you feel you are ready to answer calls by yourself. Not only did I learn how to effectively talk to callers without seeing them face to face, but I learned how to get a good talk time, multi task, and empathize with callers. Management is the best management I have ever had in my life. They go ABOVE AND BEYOND to make you feel confident! Mistakes you may make are taken care of with either personal or group meetings each week which makes it really easy to keep track and learn from mistakes. There was never a dull moment in the break room there! Everyone is so friendly and usually the whole room was in laughter. The hardest part of the job is not taking the call personally. This sounds very difficult, but you learn to keep all calls in your cubicle and not take your work home with you. If you get a hard call, take a breath and move on. It's not likely that you will talk to the same caller again. The most enjoyable part of this job is the encouragement from everyone around you. Again, everyone goes above and beyond to make this place a great place to work and to look forward to work everyday.

I have previous experience at another child support office out of state (that wasn't privatized like YW), so I may have had higher expectations at youngwilliams but the WORK LOAD, LOW PAY, and LACK OF TRAINING and LACK OF EMPATHY FOR PARENTS is absolutely not worth it. You'll spend hours trying to train yourself, following wrong directions others told you to do, and stressed out over never being able to actually help people with cases. They expect you to do things you weren't trained to do. I couldn't even afford to get the insurance that was offered because the pay is so low. At my old job, the exact same position was paid $12,000 more yearly for a REASON. (There were 30 enforcement techs there and only about 6 at YW) Workers couldn't care less about vulnerable parents and what may be happening in their lives. You get yelled at all day by customers because YW doesn't do their job in a reasonable timeframe. YW only cares about not being pinged by the state for certain things. The state of Tennessee seriously needs to do something about this terrible program. There's a reason there's such a high turnover rate.
