Working for Your Home Team Care has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As a hospital sitter, my role is to provide safety, reassurance, and companionship to patients who need someone there during vulnerable moments. Sometimes it’s offering conversation, and sometimes it’s simply being present so a patient knows they are not alone.

I truly love what I do. Being able to help people feel safe and cared for during difficult times brings me so much fulfillment. Every patient is different, and I take pride in giving each person compassion, patience, and attention. “I approach every shift with compassion, attentiveness, and a genuine desire to make each patient feel safe and respected.

I take pride in being someone patients and staff can rely on to help maintain a safe, calm, and respectful environment. Working alongside nurses, doctors, and hospital staff to support patient safety makes the role even more meaningful.

The hardest part can be seeing patients during difficult moments, but the most rewarding part is knowing that your presence helped someone feel calmer, safer, and supported. I believe every patient deserves to feel safe, respected, and not alone, and this role allows me to help provide that when they need it most.

I genuinely love being part of a team that helps make a difference in people’s lives every day. Sometimes the most important care you can give someone is simply being there so they know they are not alone.

The people that work in the office are very nice. The doctor that runs the company is very friendly and does like to help people but I feel like the company takes on more than it can handle. When I first started at the company, my phone was blown up constantly with text messages asking if I can fill in an open shift. They seem understaffed for the amount of work that they have to give.

Different people run different parts of the company. One person runs the nursing assignments while another runs the hospital assignments while another runs the screener assignments while another runs the home care assignments and nobody really seems to communicate with each other. 

They also contract workers out to other facilities. Upon finishing one such contract, I was hung out to dry. Shifts that I had picked up for after the contract was complete were given away to other employees, inquiries about other sites were either unanswered or given an "I'll look into it and let you know" and never heard from again and offers for other sites were routinely pushed back while bills piled up and paychecks dwindled.

There really aren't many benefits to speak of. When I was hired, I was told that certain jobs and sites offered benefits but I guess I was never sent to any of these places. 

The pay fluctuates between meh and pretty good, depending on where you are and what your job is. Nurses will get a pretty decent rate at most places while screeners aren't paid particularly well even though the patient traffic can be hectic at some places.

My tenure at this company has been full of ups and downs. If you're an overtime addict, this place is the perfect company as there always seems to be open shifts and if you pick up shifts, you'll be a rockstar there. If you have a family, limited schedule or other obligations, you'll find that you slide further and further down the totem pole of the company and, before long, you'll have to badger people just to get them to return a call. 

Like many other reviews have stated, if you don't fit into a specific "clique" at this workplace, you'll be cast out and it will be difficult for you to advance. Communication within management is some of the worst I've seen, as well as communication between management and employees. I've only ever seen rules within the company be enforced if management has a personal bias against an employee, while supervisors knowingly and visibly are lax on them. The protection and defending of employees when set in a potentially hostile environment is also quite poor. The locations I was placed in were nice, but the working environment itself was atrocious, and many employees I had asked about this regrettably said that that's just how it is in the company, and had also suffered through fear or lack of communication with management.

100% I toxic work environment every single one of them in the office will talk behind your back and lie about you. The favoritism and whoever they like and whoever is in their group will get all the shifts and they will take you off of shifts to give them to their friends and the people that they like. they also will not tell you they are going to take you off shifts before they do it. You simply will find out when you check your schedule. The scheduler is absolutely horrendous a terrible attitude towards everybody in the field. Management only cares about who works in the office not who’s in the field busting their butt every day.  As of may they do if you accidentally don’t clock in or out you don’t get paid for two weeks. It’s ridiculous. 100% not a good environment to work in and will destroy your mental health.

The flexible schedule is great.

New experiences in psychiatric is stressful. But it is a learning experience the I enjoy growing in

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is so one to be proud of. But this is a reflection of the on site coordinator of the shift.  I choose to follow the training guidelines. There is so many things to learn and grow in.   

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Go to assigned area and begin observing the patient for safety risks. Fill out some paperwork.

Things will seem so promising at the interview. Tons of opportunities in your area that you can basically have your pick from. Then you go to orientation and something just feels off... after that the ship sinks. Nothing you were told during the interview is true, nothing in your area, absolutely zero communication in this company. The goal is just to get bodies hired, and tell them what they want to hear. The office lady I dealt with would barely contact you- you’re wondering if you’re even employed with them, that is unless they need a “favor” and need you to work far far away and not in the area you were promised. This company is a joke and does not have its act together at all! 

Don’t work here. They have cliques (including management) that will 100% talk about you behind your back if you’re not already in their group. The upper management is rude and they’re so strict and enforce rules that you won’t know about until you break them. I’ve worked here for a while and always think it will get better but it never does. Some of the coordinators are nice but that’s all. They also DO NOT pay more than $12/hr for sitters so don’t let them lie to you. $18/hr is if you work overtime! It’s just your OT pay! Honestly the most unprofessional company I’ve ever worked for. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
They are a mediocre agency. Their bait and switch tactics with pay rates are insulting. The nursing director reserves the right to change your rate based on her liking.  It is a fight to honor the rate in the contract. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Getting the agreed contract rate. Having rates lowered each contract.  Having the agency blame the hospital for lowering the rate,  when the hospital claims no changes have been made to rate.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Low integrity.  Insulting. Pushy.

You can choose which days you work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is terrible, the company offers insurance, but you can't use it, they deduct things from your paycheck that you don't have (like insurance), office staff doesn't care about the employees as long as you show up to work

Toxic environment. Hostile employees and mangement

Patient sitting for 12 hours a day

You choose your own schedule. Everyone is so nice always!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I never felt stressed. I really enjoyed working here. Well except when a shift would get canceled which didn't happen a whole lot but sometimes it would happen.

Very professional, happy and upbeat.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You will wait for your assignment email each day. Then you get ready for your shift and go to work.
