Management (or lack thereof) is ridiculous. Trained monkeys could run that place better. While they never actually say they want more pieces out. Theyll complain about not hitting target, when it's their procedure that ties their own hands. They wont listen to anything a production worker has to say and NEVER want to hear about QUALITY issues. If you bring this up you're sure to have a TARGET on your back and WILL be replaced by someone who will "look the other way". They whole train of thought is "if you dont go looking for a problem, it's not there". The whole "quality" philosophy is just a joke and employees are trained to fool FDA to pass inspection audits!! Was told multiple times and I quote "we know there is bad parts going out, but we cant stop production for it!!" Their slogan is " Made as if intended for family" I heard a MANAGER say and I quote again " only if it's my mother-in-law" WHAT???? This used to be a good company until they merged with Biomet and the whole atmosphere changed. I'm not blaming Biomet, but the lack of unity and harbors a constant hostile work environment much like an infected hair that just festers stench and irritation. Be aware of this place as they will lie straight to you face and not think twice. They ARE cutting labor rates and firing anyone that is at top pay to replace them with a temp making a third of pay and expected to do the same rate. They will promise temps full time and after SEVERAL years just let them go. People have families to provide for and lives to support. This company has lost all morals when it comes this and are only looking to fill their already gold lined pockets. They absolutely dont care about anyone, whether it's the patient the part goes in or the descent human being trying to make a quality part. If I ever need an implant, i will REFUSE one from this company. Do yourself a favor and find a company to work for where you can be appreciated and rewarded for hard work. This is NOT that place!!!

A typical day for an engineer supporting production operations at Palm Beach Gardens consists of supporting or directing projects and resolving manufacturing issues on the floor. 

While the place offers a great platform to learn the processes and business, there is limited opportunity for growth due to the organizational structure. Additionally, performance reviews are held annually while the manager one-one meetings are scarce throughout the year, leading to poor communication, less room for engineer development, and opening a wider scope for the manager in the annual review. The reviews I personally got were highly inarticulate, unsubstantiated, and opinionated, and the manager refused to overturn when I tried to explain. So, your growth is limited if you are not the favorite engineer. 

This location has a fast paced environment and the management took some healthy strides towards project management and setting priorities on a corporate level over the last couple of years. Unfortunately, not all of it have transcended down yet and the lower level management's foresight in terms of setting priorities and workload distribution is still quite uncompetitive. You will be asked to take up additional tasks with a "need it right now" expectation and could still be evaluated negatively for the tasks that you have postponed to cater to this immediate need. I believe for this reason, it has been communicated over and over that the general expectation is 10 working hours per day from an engineer in the team meetings. While I do not see a problem with it, the sense of favoritism and authoritative behavior (or lack of respect to a point where even your "good morning" wishes are not acknowledged) do not make it worthwhile.

I worked at the South Florida location in PB County and it was a nightmare.  From the top down, the entire Management team was so disorganized and unskilled at their jobs that I felt like I was in a twilight zone from the beginning.  From Day 1, my Manager did not even take me around to introduce me to people until day 3.  Also, what I was told during my 11 hours of interviewing did not turn out to be true.  I was told promises and things that did not turn out to be factual.  My first week on the job, my Manager told me that she really disliked working at Zimmer Biomet and that the job was causing her to be stressed out of her mind.  Each time I would walk into her office, she would evoke a sense of negative energy.  Also, the other Managers in the department had no idea how to implement new ideas and changes.  In addition, there was a language barrier as many of the Managers were not fluent in English and they would speak Spanish to each other which made the employees who did not speak Spanish feel like outsiders.  The work environment was dark, gloomy, and uninviting.  All I would hear from my Manager were negative comments all of the time.  Lastly, there was no formal training given and if I had not proactively reached out to my Manager for one-on-one meetings, then I do believe that she would not even bother to schedule any meetings with me.  The issue with this company is that it portrays itself as wanting to make people believe that it has values and is ethical but in reality it is far from having values.  The work environment is toxic, Management does not lead, you are given no direction, and the people are not friendly and everyone keeps to themselves.  Stay away and do NOT apply here.

Solid company financially. I'd like to start out by saying most employees I work with are incredible. Smart, energetic, compassionate, caring, reliable, and extremely fun to work.There is however a lack of training, and not much potential for upward mobility unless you fraternize with management. Nepotism is alive and well in my office. People are put in management positions that are continuously late to work, don't use the time clock, and come and go as they please and frequently are the ones that lead the bit@! parade about conditions. And also they usually aren't the best employee qualified for job.The current manager doesn't come in to work for hours after crunch time in the morning when he should absolutely be there. By the time he gets in all fires have been extinguished with no help from him whatsoever. He's in way over his head. He's arrogant and inexperienced in management. He'll never greet you in the morning unless you're his buddy. His language is unprofessional, his sexist comments toward female employees is despicable. He has lied to us several times. He spends money wastefully He talks about other employees' personal issues in front of a group of employees. He has crushed the morale there. But all this being said we have a great bunch of employees that just get it done in spite of him. If he never showed up to work another day the place wouldn't skip a beat. None of us know what he does other than make everybody else do everything.  WE GET IT DONE! And that's mostly because of the unsung leadership we do have. He has EVERY ONE of us looking for new employment! It's very sad!

Through and through, I would recommend working at ZB for the positive culture, work/life flexibility (huge), the pay is fairly competitive, and the benefits are frankly amazing.

With my experience, when reaching out for help you will receive assistance much more often than not. Direct management is very supportive, and share the same desire to succeed. You can (depending on your job function) end up working long hours if things go horribly wrong, but you could expect that out of any company. The benefit here is, in those situations, I have been occasionally told when one of these events have happened by my manager to take a half day on Friday because we've been non-stop, for example. Management does appear to care about you as a person, and not just a number.

The largest outstanding issue I have consistently witnessed is the communication avenues between middle and upper management and senior leadership can be broken. Expectations can be different from upper management that were communicated to middle management and below, which can lead to problems down the road.

The prior concern has been brought up, and upper management claims to be working on resolving this issue - but we'll wait and see what happens. Even so, all in all, this is a pretty great company to work for in my experience.

This was not a good assignment for me. Have done contract work before and this place is a total train wreck. No clear vision for the company and the management is horrible. Training is horrible, the only way you know if you are doing anything right or wrong is if you mess up. With the FDA breathing down their neck you would think they would want to improve the way things are done but  that is not the case.This company  should have been completely torn apart and rebuilt the right way starting with management and the processes that are done on a daily basis. This company has a lot of issues and they have done so many people wrong in the past that they are having a hard time finding good quality minded employees. A lot of times when I was working there if anyone asked me where I was working and I said "Zimmer Biomet" they would scoff and have a lot of negative to say. The money was great, but hours are long and the culture dismal. Most of the employees are sick and tired of giving up their family life for their work life. It is mandatory every other weekend and most of the time 12 hour days. As for this girl I most definitely would never go back the this place. To be fair to the company I only worked at the Biomet Building and from my understanding the two companies are ran differently. Maybe Zimmer made a huge mistake by buying Biomet. They should have bought it completely changed over to Zimmer and that would be that.

Zimmer Biomet have given thousands of people opportunities to grow in their craft and support the company's goals. Our people are the breath of our being and we appreciate all the hard work to make our company successful.  We provide a positive impact to lives all over the world.





I do not write reviews of any company nor should I have to. I was a bit disturbed to learn Zimmer Biomet is not supporting our supply base. To have the contributions of our company create a detrimental effect of a suppliers employees is not what Zimmer Biomet represents. With all the power within my means I will have this incident completely investigated. I will visit the supplier myself, if need be, to find out what happened and what, if any, we did to contribute to an employee being separated from their company. It is with great regret that we could have any effect of an employee, and those that support us. Rest assured we will get to the bottom of this incident. This is not the reputation we want to demonstrate to current or future employees that read social media such as this.

No guidance is needed. I will make sure that this will not reoccur and that if anyone has backed this to create such a misfortune and impact the life of our supplier base employees, it will be dealt with.

I was Legacy Biomet, and ever since the merger happened, there's hardly any chance for advancement anymore.  You apply for other jobs and don't even get an interview.  Our raises were cut, our bonuses were cut and may not even happen because performance metrics are so bad within the company.  The CEO recently stepped down, which to me is a bad sign.  They are moving people to other departments to "help them catch up," and then those people are left standing around doing absolutely nothing.  It's frustrating.  They keep offering the temps more incentives to get people in and don't focus on why there is such a high turnover rate.  Biomet was a great company, the new company just isn't that.  It seems to be getting run straight into the ground.  If we hadn't been bought out I would be making $2 more an hour than I am now, and it doesn't seem that's going to change for Legacy Biomet people anytime soon.  Hey, if you go in as a temp though, you have the opportunity to get a $1000 bonus.  As a full time employee with the metrics, I would get less of a bonus than that.  That place is a disaster right now, and I don't see things getting better.  So happy to go and pursue other opportunities.

If you get stuck with a manager/supervisor who knows nothing about the place, which is probably more than 90% of them, then you better watch your back, because if one decides they don't like you, especially if you follow company standards and they only care about numbers (which is also most of management), and they expect you to pass quantity over quality, then you might as well be prepared to be let go for any reason they can come up with. As a long-time employee with NO disciplinary actions, excellent attendance and great yearly reviews, I was let go thanks to a jealous, know-nothing "supervisor" who has Daddy as a higher up in the company. I thought I would retire from here and appreciated the good pay and benefits and worked hard and actually cared about quality and NO ONE in this company cared to keep a quality worker. ZB is a revolving door of employees and they complain they can't find good workers, but when they do, they let them go and keep lazy ones and ones who know nothing and don't want to be challenged over their lack of knowledge because you want to put out a good part. HR is a complete joke and they will side with management every time and care nothing about the employees. Co-workers were fine for the most part, management ruins the entire thing.

I worked here for 11 months. Overall I really enjoyed my experience. I worked on a remediation project which is an excellent way for a recent grad to learn a lot about the company's inner workings as well as the industry in general. 

PROS
-excellent teammates, ZB did a great job hiring competent, dependable, kind-hearted people with excellent critical thinking 
-casual dress at the office (though I would recommend dressing up for an interview) 
-possibility for overtime  
-opportunity to learn about many different branches of the medical device industry (design, manufacturing, quality, interactions with vendors, packaging, cleaning, sterilization, research

CONS
-Although management of the remediation work was made up of excellent people, many managers are quite young and are finding themselves in their first leadership roles. This can make them relatable but also results in guidance from those who only have a few more years of experience. As always, as an engineer, be prepared be be self-taught 
-Limited windows, would have been a much nicer work area with a view of the outside 
-Lacking sense of job security for those who worked contracts (though that's not specific to Zimmer Biomet, I would expect that to the the case anywhere)
