This was hands down the worst job I’ve ever had as an attorney. I don’t think I fully understood gaslighting and passive aggressiveness until I worked here. Management does not care about you and honestly they probably expect that you’re going to quit. They set up a system of a thousand checklists and internal procedures you have to do before you can get ANYTHING done and you find yourself doing pointless checklists for 70% of your workday instead of doing actual attorney work. It’s so draining. You’re constantly being told you’re not achieving. They have a set of unrealistic KPIs which they advertise as fair but are actually completely unachievable. On top of that, you have to also do intake and you have to sacrifice your evenings and weekends to do so. Many times I was stuck chasing down potential clients and had to either stay on the phone with PNCs until well past my workday (I’m talking 9pm) or on weekends. They tell you it’s one weekend every few months when you’re hired but yeah it was at least two weekends a month. Then, when you finally sign a great case, they assign it to a partner and tell you you’ll get some nominal fee. So why did I spend 4 hours on the phone building rapport with the client? 

After I finally quit, I met with an insurance adjuster and mentioned this firm. He laughed and said that at his work, they call this firm a “puppy mill” because they just churn and burn through any baby lawyer they can hire and burn them out. 

Stay far, far away. 

Zinda Law Group has some great upsides, especially if you're looking to move up in your career. They’ve got a solid setup and great remote work systems, which is a huge win these days. Plus, the team is genuinely hardworking and supportive, so you’ll be working with some awesome people.

But, it’s not all smooth sailing. The turnover rate is through the roof, which suggests there are some serious issues with keeping people happy. They’re also seriously understaffed, which means you’ll be buried in work with expectations that don’t seem to ever ease up. It often feels like you’re just spinning your wheels, and despite your efforts, you might not feel valued or appreciated.

Then there’s the micromanagement. With constant meetings, daily huddles, and a never-ending stream of audits, it can feel pretty exhausting. And even though you’re putting in a lot of hard work, recognition and pay don’t seem to match up. In the end, while there’s room to grow, the frustration and lack of real reward can make it hard to feel truly fulfilled.

Zinda Law Group is an awesome place to grow your career as a professional. If you prioritize having the opportunity to do work that truly impacts another person or another team directly, the firm absolutely provides that - I think a main reason for this is that it's a large, growing firm that has still maintained the culture of a small workplace. Because of the growth, every team operates at a very fast pace and the work can sometimes be stressful with very busy days. That said, the opportunities for learning and for stretch assignments are abundant, and it really makes a difference to be able to finish work at the end of the day knowing that the work you did was done because it NEEDED to be done, and because it was important to someone else (especially during the pandemic when it can arguably be hard to keep everyday life in perspective!). Everyone here is helpful, hard-working and operates with a true team player mentality. I think the firm has also done a great job at working to keep everyone engaged during the pandemic, as well. 

Everyone at ZLG is incredibly hard working and the firm's overall mission of helping people is a driving force whether you're in admin or on the legal side. It's a growing company and there are some growing pains but the firm has evolved so much in a short amount of time. While communication could sometimes be better, decisions are made thoughtfully, fairly, and with everyone's best interest in mind. This is a very fast paced, sometimes stressful work environment - find a law firm that isn't stressful to work at - but everyone is willing to help each other out and the firm hires truly great people. It's also a business and there are high expectations when it comes to performance, getting good results, and serving the client at a high level. Whether you're here for a year or 10 years, you will grow as a person and in your career from having worked here. 

What I love about working for Zinda Law Group is that our mission is to help people, especially during the most difficult time in their life. It is easy to get behind work that truly makes a difference in someone’s life, even if your role doesn’t directly interact or work with the clients. You can tell that the attorneys and staff here truly care about our clients and doing the best work for them. I appreciate that you work hard when you are here and your colleagues are working just as hard with you. Employees at Zinda are some of the best I have ever worked with - they are all smart, kind, and driven. I have grown more professionally in my time at Zinda than I have in years with my other companies.

I've found Zinda Law Group to be extremely mission-driven, and a great training ground for new and experienced attorneys alike. They run the firm unlike most law offices, which is a breath of fresh air. They are open to feedback, ideas, and anything that allows the firm to succeed (doing great work for their deserving clients). There are opportunities to work on complex, multi-state litigation, and they have implemented a training program to allow attorneys to get caught up to speed, and feel comfortable handling cases of their own, very quickly. I'd recommend Zinda Law Group to anyone that wants the opportunity to learn, grow, receive mentorship, and challenge themselves. 

Zinda Law Group is a great place for an attorney to come and work alongside other dedicated people. Everyone is working together for the common goal of helping out injured people and doing it without cutting corners. There are processes in place which can help attorneys achieve great results and develop experience at a quick pace. The firm encourages and helps provide ample opportunities for professional growth through internal and external CLE. There is also a real collegial  and open door atmosphere.

The people that struggle usually push back against the processes that are in place to ensure great results. 

I really like the people that I worked with here. That includes the management. There is a bit of micromanagement, which does not fit my style, and I found the related internal reporting to detract from my ability to deliver results. 

That said, I learned a lot. I think this firm provides a great opportunity for a young lawyer trying to learn how to handle cases from start to finish. The firm also excels at setting clear processes and training on the steps. This is something that I have found to be a common weakness of PI firms. There are a lot of demands, and you may find yourself working long hours. The management has a tendency to create a lot of additional stress, which is tough in an already stressful job.  

Zinda is a high growth and high expectation work environment, with some of the most incredible people I have ever met. Everyone is always willing to lend a hand or answer a question, and there has never been a time where I felt like I couldn't put myself in a position to learn and grow. 

Days are pretty standard, but sometimes work does creep into nights and on weekends. Usually only if it is required to ensure we are living up to our mission and helping the people that have entrusted us with their well being.

Would definitely recommend for people wanting to grow and help others with a great team.
