Zufall Health

Mission is great but management does ask a lot from you. 
And it’s usually not coming from your direct manager nor the site managers. These are asks made by executives to their employees whom then expect the bottom feeders to complete all the work. For example, executive  team making complaints on phone calls being answered but not understanding the amount of work and rules the employees already follow and trying to attend to patients currently in the office. 
Many times someone else takes the credit for another persons work. 
Benefits are decent but could be way better. How is it that a even retail companies has better health benefits than a health facility…
No difference from PTO, Vacation or sick time indicating no consideration for work life balance or emergencies. 
Policies are in place that don’t even get followed by providers and execs don’t say anything about it to cater to the providers but put other employees at risk. 
Not to mention how we are non profit but everything we work for is just to apply for another grant that we don’t have enough employees for. 
Gossipers all over the place. No room for respect and when reported to HR, no actions made, and if there are any, it’s usually kept on the down low as if others aren’t waiting for a resolution. 
Fun place but could use a revamp that doesn’t including stressing employees. 

The department I worked in has no promotions really, most employees are rude and obnoxious and seem to get away with it while others are called out. Management acts like it's a privilege to work there without giving much incentive to stay and that's why there is a high turnover. Management picks and chooses when they actually wanna manage. While I have been working for this company I have been through 3 different site managers. With this company they expect you to work like an animal and get paid scraps for it. 

Pay is horrible, benefits are just as bad and expensive, and you have to accrue time off so don't expect 2 weeks of vacation/sick pay like in other places. You have to work 30 hours to accumulate 1 hour of PTO time. And depending on what job type you are for example FT, PT, or PT-Limited. Some people mentioned the free snacks, they're gross "healthy" stuff and they never get enough to last more than one day, because people are greedy. Better things should be offered. The only good thing about my time here was some of the coworkers that made the day a little more pleasant and you're always busy so the day goes by quickly.

There is a deep commitment by Zufall Health Center Administration to the care of vulnerable and medically underserved communities. The medical staff, including Physicians, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners, PAs and CMAs are generally enthusiastic and “team players” who possess immense energy and interest in rendering outstanding care. 

The biggest reason for attrition at Zufall Health Center is the under-market salary scale — something that is discouraging; the low pay scale has resulted recently, in quite a number of staff leaving for better pay. That being said, Administration has taken the issue very seriously and significant salary increases were implemented across the board, starting in April 2021. 



If you're just wanting to get your foot in the door, this place is okay but not for the long run. There's 0 chance of advancement unless you're one of the favorites and this is through out the company. The CEO and higher management get nice bonuses and raises while everyone else gets pennies for the most part.

The culture, inlusion and  service to the people in need.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No stress there. It is a very nice place to work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
 Promote diversity and culture. Using uniform , speak Spanish and English, Two parties for all employees at year, Recognizing with check at 5, 10, 15 etc years of services. Giving lunch on specials days. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Punch in with my finger on the machine, take a coffee to my desk, turn on my computer, check calendars to see if there us a meeting, check the company’s email and start calling patiends, doing projects, after 8 hours punching out. Monday to Friday.

During my time here I learned a lot. It was my first job as a CMA and I learned about things that were not taught in school. A typical day would be getting there between 8-9 typically and right away start calling patients into the room, getting their info and inputting it in the EMR and translating since most patients are Hispanic. I felt Zufall had too many managers and supervisor but they have several sites. Mine was pretty fair- most importantly as long as you did your work- it was okay to have fun at the same time. Sometimes the hardest part was dealing with people or since the site I worked at was so small we were all in each others business. The most enjoyable part of my job was helping the patients.

The patients that are seen are well taken care of. The practitioners genuinely care for there patients. The staff work hard and they are under a lot of pressure to answer all the calls. The pay is not good for all the work you have to do. Supervisors don't acknowledge your hard work they just expect more. Supervisor is cut throat. Seems kind and genuine but will put you on notice for her own faults and lack of proper training. Employees are concerned for there job security and afraid of making a mistake. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
They are a very well organized company. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help the co-workers in a time of need. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They are in need of more employees and this puts a lot of stress on those that are there trying to pick up the slack. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Caring, very friendly and polite. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Easy going most of the time. Day goes by very quickly because everyone is extremely busy.

Fast pace job, multiple dental sites, nice benefits, management is average, sometimes the communication with supervisors is difficult, the salary is a  below average marketplace in the area and yearly raises are not so good, a good communication with most of the coworkers, workload sometimes is heavy but most of the time was average ( but now with the shortage of personal because of the covid the workload is heavy all the time),  multiple bosses like supervisors, site managers,  center manager, chief dental officer (sometimes not all in the same page making difficult to follow instructions) 

Absolutely garbage.... look for something else this place isn’t worth hurting your mental health. Everyone is nasty, clicked up, doctors have terrible attitude. Pay is low for what your expected to do. They have strict phone policies your stripped of your own freedom. Your always managed and watched over like a child. If your caught not working you automatically get reprimanded and tossed work to do as punishment. Hackettstown location is toxic and I can’t imagine what Dover looks like either or any other zufall. Avoid this job by all means.
