A typical work day at eClerx consists of dressing business casual and working 11a-8p. The first 5 weeks consist of training classes all day. During this time, the communication on what was needed to be taught was all over the place and the lessons that were to be taught did't work half of the time. The trainer was exceptional, they took every system fail and miscommunicated topic at its best and corrected it as soon as they could. The dress code was unorganized because they would state business casual and you would see people in t-shirts and jeans including the higher ups. This caused confusion withing the work field on what was required. You did get a good salary and benefits, plus weekends off, but any medical needs is classes as excusable and would go towards your termination points. This was not communicated fairly until after the employ did so. Communicating with the customers and other employees was the most enjoyable part of this. Some of the customers would have a more aggressive approach but that was understandable for certain situations and you could be the one to help assist them to relieve some of the stress with their account. The downfall to this was that if the standards were not met your lunch got cut and sometime you wouldn't be able to go to lunch during the entire work day. This caused people to put in their two weeks as well as just quit because they were putting in hours and not having their rights respected.

Although management was decently reasonable in their conduct towards employees as a whole (e.g., they were willing to listen to employee complaints), they didn't seem to make certain employee needs a priority unless it involved something that could potentially impact the business in a considerably harmful way (e.g., employee resignation). The pay was decent for the work ($10.25/hr starting pay); and in addition to working a full time schedule, overtime was offered. The training period was exceptionally graceful and lengthy (i.e., "graceful" in that the training period allowed for multiple attempts for a trainee to prepare for "the floor"/production, and "lengthy" in that the training period was over a month long). The most enjoyable and fulfilling part of my job was successfully troubleshooting customer equipment/services and having the flexibility of creating semi-casual communication in making customers smile and laugh over the phone as I attempted to find and troubleshoot those product/service issues. Overall, I would recommend this job to anyone who feels that they could handle the emotional and mental wear-and-tear of disrespectful and irate customers who have little knowledge of their home products/services; all while being warm, friendly, and respectful in return.

I must admit I was very impressed with the company when I was first hired on. They sent me to India to gain knowledge about all the products and services they offered and I was immediately impressed and excited about the prospects. Then came the actual job and work environment. No training whatsoever...they just send you out to figure everything out on your own. The kicker is if you screw up, its your fault and they blame you, especially if the Client is unhappy or upset. They (certain managers) will throw you under the bus in a second, if you screw up. Its really unfair, especially to folks that are really trying to succeed. In my opinion, if they invested in ramping up new employees (training, how they do things at the company, etc) they would be able to retain the talent they worked so hard to get and hire. 

There are a lot of really talented people at eClerx, but they need to get their stuff in order to be a really dynamic company. I would not work again unless I was really desperate. 

I worked for Eclerx for 2 months. My experience there was not all that I expected to be. My trainer was amazing, and yes, he was from India. This is an India based company. They pay $10.25 an hour starting off and then I think you get a dollar raise after 160 days of employment. The drama in this place is ridiculous and nobody addresses it. If you are absent a day, even if you bring in valid documentation stating why you were absent, that day still counts against you and you do not get excused for it. That policy is ridiculous. At Eclerx, you cannot just pick and choose your hours (especially if in training). They have times where people do not get paid on time. In other words, these people do not have their stuff together. If you have children and you don't have efficient childcare, don't even consider this place. They do not care if you have children or not. They want you to work when they want you to work, how they want you to work. Period. Everyone there isn't bad, but it seems that management could care less about you.

This is the first call center in america for this particular company, the company is based in India so this is a great opportunity to advance. However some of my personal concerns was the product knowledge and the lack of assistance during the nesting period and during production when needing assistance with a customer. The training was extended twice which is not necessarily a bad thing however during the training experience the classroom instruction was often interrupted which would leave room for laziness or self teaching systems that would need to prepare for. Again, the company it self is not bad but there is a problem in authority of who is actually running the business or conflict as to what is really true when assisting the customer. Also, there is no clear or set time when you are taking a break or lunch as an example, you can take a 15 min break but not get a lunch for another 4-5 hours, the next day you may be asked to take your 15 minute break and your lunch within an hour.

The environment isn’t healthy weather you work in office or from home it’s stressful. In office agents are favored . I’ve also made complaints to higher ups before and they never seemed to fix by issues . I kept emailing on the issue with no further assistance on a issue. The supervisors for agents and team leads run that place tbh only because they have been their years and the company would rather for a veteran to stay than a rookie no matter the issue . The team leads aren’t aware on how to assist with a problem and pay can surely be better . Oh and they been messing up checks lately and we haven’t been getting paid on payday and they brush it off . Now i see why the i place has a high turnover rate and i wouldn’t refer this job to anybody with how stressful it’s become .8/10 wouldn’t recommend 

On-site staff including recruiter, trainer, and management are wonderful. Easy communication and set expectations. The job itself is horrible. Very stressful and 3X the amount of work than is necessary. 30 yr old software used that only has the basic updates installed. Must flip thru multiple pages of Excel spreadsheets to find correct codes. Product line codes combined on spreadsheets when it should be isolated for each individual product line being offered. Very little professionalism shown by floor supervisors/staff. Lots of unnecessary noise that prohibits agents from hearing callers thru headsets. Expects all depts to sell other products when they have a large Sales floor and staff for that very reason.

Very unprofessional place to work. My trainer was amazing but the entire training was horrible and a big headache b/c there was always something going on w/ the equipment they issue employees. The management/leads/sups are not coordinated and they think they're better than the entry level employees. Make sure to use your pto before you leave comp b/c you will leave comp. They do not issue remaining pto at all, only what you work. They have the most DISGUSTING bathrooms as well as bugs throughout the center. Your equipment works 40% of the time and if not you better be on site or you lose pay b/c of something that is out of your control. Usually have to wait on India to fix anything going on w/ your sites or even usernames.

Nothing; leadership lacks any integrity or accountabilty. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is not one positive comment I can think of; just horribly unorganized, lacking integrity, and knowledgable leadership, no formal training or onboarding programs for its associates. No documented policies and procedures, poor or lackluster technology and security protocols,. Questionable adherence or compliance with ADA or other Federal requirements/ policies. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fend for yourself, zero accountability, pass the buck and be prepared to raise a ton of Helpdesk tickets. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Completely frustrating and demeaned

Please understand, that this company is mediocre at best. Things are always changing with the companies requirements. The systems used constantly fail throughout your shifts because they’re outdated. You also may notice a very high school like work environment even down to the team leads. After the training is over, this job can drain you mentally so you have to find motivation to keep working. Majority of the employees smoke cigarettes or drink because the stress it brings. The turnover rate is like a fast food restaurant, if need a job for a few months go ahead and apply to Eclerx but for the amount of work they want from you as an agent the pay definitely needs to increase.
