The team I'm on has great work life balance and fun. The company is starting to hire more young people which is positively impacting the office atmosphere.  eGain is trying to be more competitive in Silicon Valley by offering free catered lunch on Fridays and other office perks. eGain is a great company for an entry level positions because you get a lot of hands on experience and can get work experience in a department you were necessarily hired for. eGain overall does not value retaining talent with compensation and opportunities for growth.  There is also a lot of nepotism, which takes some getting use to. I would recommend joining eGain to gain experience but don't expect this to be your long term company.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Pay and benefits was the best part and nice people to work with were l that care for and care back the leadership team had settled into knowing the company won’t gripe much further and I’m glad I learned what I learned in great short time I was there

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Job security was not secure and I was layered off

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was fun and the orioles were nice

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No direction free and navigating a new role was isolating

EGain doesn’t properly train employees well to do their job. I received little actual training most of it was just watching empty repetitive videos made by staff themselves. It throws you into the job without the training or support and has unrealistic expectations. Also, highly toxic work culture where there is a clear hierarchy between those on the top and bottom. Those on the bottom are treated as minuscule and stamped on. It’s no wonder employee turnover is so high.


Constant re-orgs(2 in 6 months), CEO said he does not need sales people as product sells itself, high turnover and family of CEO involved. Many great people got fired for trying to do their job when it did not suit the advantages of managements family. Be weary as job security is low. Some outstanding people at eGain but that does not mean the experience is worth it. As an in between job it is a good option but do not look for this to be a place to build your career. Company culture is severely lacking.  

CEO is an amazing software engineer but did not grow the sales culture. 
 The company is stagnant at best losing market share with many instances of not being able to deliver what was sold.  CEO ruled with an iron fist and hired many relatives into management positions.  But they do have great sales play and vision with customer experience.  High turnover.

I enjoyed working at eGain. I was tasked with developing and delivering training for a newly acquired software product. The task was both challenging and rewarding. 

I worked with some great people and felt well supported.

Unstructured, micro managed and severely lacks progressive executive leadership. Zero company culture in terms of cultivating internal relationships and definitely does not encourage streamlining processes to grow efficiently.

Depends upon your group and manager.  If you are in Sales/PS or support you will be promoted. Other areas may not have the same treatment.

Egain is a good company for work life balance,  supporting colleagues,  salary, promotion but it js not a secured job. Any one can be fired at any time irrespective of of your designation how big or small you are.
