A typical day at work involves patient care, following the appointment schedule and being a clinical staff, an admin at the same time and being overworked. The health centers are beautiful and the model & concept is excellent at getting direct primary care. I loved the work I did and felt if there was more support at the front desk, I could actually gives patients all of my attention. But instead the phone rings, doorbell rings, and there is only me and a provider. I've told my nurse manager and she was incredibly supportive & tried to help us get an admin. What other doctor office has the nurse do IT ALL?! I quickly learned that the sales teams make promises that are not realistic for nurse managers or health center to fully carry out. The higher clinical leadership (not my nurse manage) and implementation training managers had a demeaning attitude to clinical staff. Whether it is a computer glitch, survey tablets that are pushed and also new scheduling apps that have major tech problems, it all gets complained to the staff. Then we get no further support. It seems a training manager and leaders like to say they travel to health centers to help, but instead, they hide in an office and do not offer any support except to suggest we follow policies and attend trainings. The travel expenses must be incredibly high, and what's the point for leadership to travel if they aren't coming to help staff? The management I was under was amazing, she was very supportive and always willing to jump in and help when we were busy. No job was beneath her, and if she didn't have to be in a meeting, she was there to help us. Our providers are awesome and we really did great work. I'm not impressed from what I would hear from clinical & quality meetings every week, as the workplace culture gave a sort of intimidating stance if you suggested a good idea or pointed out a way to improve. It was as though, if it wasn't their idea, they didn't want to try it. The hardest part of the job was feeling as though you may not have a job because the company was growing so fast and leadership was constantly being fired and changing. That gave us a low morale and high anxiety that our health center could close.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the patients and my providers, my nurse manager was a great support. 

Super busy and interactive. You have ti be self motivated and have a good relationship and communication the management and with the facility more importantly. Being part of morning Meeting are of most importance to the facility and a good communication with nursing staff and facility managers. The down side is your alone in every decision and training is in need of improvement. If you have a big passion for card your love the residents instantly. A level card and of boundaries when dealing with residents is required. It’s key to manage your time wisely and get a system down that works for you as soon as possible is needed to succeed. Remembering that the facility is not your employers and also behaving with respect as you are a guest at the facility. Being mindful of what you say because you are not employed by the facility is probably the best thing to do when working for Proactive. I do think it’s a great company but theirs definitely room for improvement in the aspect of proactive bringing the scribe and faculty to a mutual respectful agreement and setting the expectations from the beginning. This occupation requires a lot of detailed critical thinking and if you love challenges you may enjoy this job. 

A typical day at work is checking in and out patients, answering phones, making appointments, doing all administrative work, filling medication prescriptions, drawing labs, rooming patients, vital signs, helping NP with procedures, cleaning rooms, etc….
You, as 1 person, are responsible for every aspect of the clinic work except the provider position.
The culture in the clinic itself is great, I have amazing coworkers. The overall culture in the company is one of instability and fearfulness. You are not made to feel you bring any value to the company, they continually change/create new policies. 
Management is off site and pretty much nonexistent, poor communication from corporate and management. 
You are not valued as an employee and made to feel easily replaceable. The pay is poor especially given the rapid inflation over the past few years.

Initially I thought the company was very inclusive, supportive, and really cared about their employees and health centers. Management is really driven by employees appearance oppose to their true attributes to the company and their position. I joined the company after the company went through an acquisition, and less than one month later the team became dismantled.  I watched a female leader do a wonderful job managing the clinical teams and stabilizing operations.  When there was an opportunity to advance this women she was overlooked and someone was brought in with less experience and peoples skills. I begin to see quickly if you were not loyal  you would not survive at the company. They fired good people just because they didn't fit in or wasn't a culture fit! This company will not survive and their leadership team does not reflect diversity. I would encourage anyone that is looking to build a career to not look to work for this company.  

Proactive MD has a good vision as I am an advocate for healthcare. With that being said, I have nothing else positive to say about this company. The accounting department is the worst I’ve seen in 30 years. Their processes and procedures are outdated by 25 years. Their software is not up to par with today’s advanced technology. I literally felt like I took a giant step back to the 90s. The leadership in the accounting department is horrible. Timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency is lacking as well. Employees are not given the proper training necessary to succeed in their roles. The interview lacked honesty and transparency about the outdated work methods and concepts. As I stated, I’ve worked in accounting for 30 years, mostly in a leadership role, and I’ve never witnessed anything so outdated, untimely, inefficient, inaccurate, and technology lacking in my career. Overall, the worst five weeks of a 30 year career and I resigned due to the daily frustration.

I loved my job there. Until I didn’t. The original company was amazing and dedicated to improving the lives of patients. After the buyout from Proactive MD, the company is money-hungry and most of these people should not be in healthcare, 1. And 2. Should not be managers. Any person who has worked in a clinical setting would be able to recognize that. I switched from proactive to a regional hospital system and the leadership alone is light years above. Proactive has gotten rid of anyone who could actually make a legitimate difference in patients lives and the salary stands out by what, $5k more than a similar position? If that. It is not worth it. The managers of clinics are never available. When they are they will give you outstanding performance reviews and then reprimand you off hear-say. This company does not and will not have your back. They’re always and only about the patient - even when the patients are against their own. Do yourself a favor, make a little less money and invest your time and skills at a company that appreciates you. You will not regret it. 

They do not have enough staff to run the clinic.  The theory is great, but management is so unethical, it's ridiculous.  They create and promote a toxic environment.  You are constantly on edge because information you may get from management isn't always accurate.  If you question them, you become that person.  When people leave its always because this wasn't the job for them.  If you have any morals or ethics, don't work here.  They will lie about you to save themselves.  It's a pure shame because it really could be great.  Management doesn't know what they are doing.  You have to report to multiple people and they all want you to do things differently.  They have no training.  They don't prepare you and they have a million excuses.  They keep toxic staff because they are so desperate for staff.  I've never been so glad to leave a job!  

This company says they are focused on patient experience but really puts the employees feelings and experiences on the back burner. If you’re an administration employees or any employees that sits at a desk and on zoom meetings all day the company goes out their way to make them feel important and always get the perks from the company. The ones that deal with the patients on a regular basis such as the nurse Practitioners , nurses and medical assistants you’re really not an important asset to the company just a role to fill that’s it. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working there was certain co-workers and access to the health center. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part was our clinic manager who was the least supportive person and made all of our jobs harder.  She never helped us and made excuses for everything.  She would take supplies from our heath center and then blame us when she forgot to order us new supplies.  The HR was also not supportive or helpful.  There was never any resolution when any complaints were made, unless the complaints were lies.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was toxic. It started from poor management and certain people who could make up lies and get away with anything.  It made the good workers all quit. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
That would depend on management.

Do not work for this company if losing your job will cause problems.  Every company has to fire employees and I've been around hospitals and other healthcare organizations for years so I'm used to high turnover but I've never seen anything like this organization. 

Great people get burned out fast because the company doesn't support them and treats them like trash

The company mission is fake.  They don't live up to their "patient promise"

Corporate is nothing but people doing what they can to just stay employed.

Management will not stand up for employees for fear of losing their job.
