6 South Med/Surg/Oncology is a 34-bed inpatient unit caring for patients with medical, surgical, and oncology needs, including pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, pancreatitis, acute renal failure, and post-operative recovery. The unit also features four inpatient hospice beds, providing compassionate continuity of care for patients at end of life.
This is an excellent opportunity for new and experienced RNs to build a strong nursing foundation, earn Med/Surg and Chemotherapy certifications, and develop versatile clinical skills. Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.
Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.
Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.
Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.
