We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Foreman to lead our maintenance and repair team for heavy equipment, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the service team, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
- Diagnose complex issues using electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics, and equipment troubleshooting techniques
- Perform or oversee fabrication, welding, assembly, and heavy equipment repair work with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Conduct inspections of construction machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other industrial equipment to identify repair needs
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules for diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with OEM specifications and safety regulations during all repair processes
- Train and mentor technicians on the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and heavy lifting procedures
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using schematics and diagnostic tools; prepare reports for management review
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and updates on repair progress
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery is highly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, loaders, bulldozers, and farm machinery
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair; familiarity with transmissions and powertrain systems
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics for electrical systems within heavy equipment; ability to interpret schematics effectively
- Proficient in troubleshooting hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is a plus; understanding of heavy equipment operation standards is essential
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and perform heavy lifting safely
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving capabilities
- Knowledge of OEM parts specifications for Caterpillar or similar brands; familiarity with tire service procedures is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple repair projects while maintaining quality standards
