POSITION SUMMARY
The Chiropractic Provider is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered chiropractic care from the initial examination through discharge or transition of care.
The Chiropractic Provider evaluates patients, establishes appropriate diagnoses and clinical goals, develops individualized treatment plans, provides chiropractic treatment, monitors patient progress, and communicates findings and recommendations clearly to patients and, when appropriate, referring providers.
The provider is expected to deliver care consistent with the practice's clinical standards, policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and patient experience expectations.
This position plays a key role in creating an environment where patients feel known, heard, educated, and confident in their care.
The Chiropractic Provider is also expected to actively contribute to the overall success of the practice through teamwork, communication, accountability, professional development, and adherence to established operational standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Patient Evaluation & Examination
- Perform comprehensive initial chiropractic examinations and evaluations.
- Obtain and review relevant patient history, including medical, social, functional, and current-condition information.
- Perform appropriate neurological, orthopedic, musculoskeletal, functional, and chiropractic assessments.
- Identify relevant signs, symptoms, impairments, functional limitations, and contributing factors.
- Utilize appropriate objective measures to establish a clinical baseline.
- Review available patient records and referral information prior to the patient's examination when applicable.
- Identify appropriate outcome measures and establish measurable goals.
- Recognize conditions requiring referral, co-management, additional medical evaluation, or other appropriate intervention.
2. Diagnosis & Clinical Decision-Making
- Establish appropriate diagnoses within the provider's scope of practice.
- Use sound clinical reasoning when developing treatment recommendations.
- Determine appropriate frequency, duration, and progression of care.
- Modify treatment plans based on patient response, objective findings, progress, and changing clinical needs.
- Recognize when a patient's condition is not progressing as expected and take appropriate action.
- Maintain awareness of contraindications, precautions, and clinical risk factors.
3. Treatment & Patient Care
- Provide chiropractic care consistent with the provider's training, licensure, clinical judgment, and applicable standards of practice.
- Perform appropriate adjustments/manipulations and other chiropractic interventions within the provider's scope of practice.
- Provide therapeutic and corrective recommendations when appropriate.
- Educate patients regarding their condition, treatment, movement, function, recovery, and long-term health.
- Reinforce appropriate home-care recommendations and patient responsibilities.
- Monitor patient tolerance and response to treatment.
- Maintain appropriate infection-control and safety practices.
- Provide care in a professional, respectful, compassionate, and patient-centered manner.
4. Report of Findings & Care Planning
- Clearly communicate examination findings to patients.
- Explain diagnoses and clinical findings in language the patient can understand.
- Connect clinical findings to the patient's concerns, goals, and desired outcomes.
- Present appropriate treatment recommendations and care plans.
- Review expected phases of care, measurable goals, and anticipated outcomes.
- Clearly communicate financial or care-plan information in coordination with established practice procedures.
- Answer patient questions and ensure the patient understands the recommended plan before proceeding.
- Document patient questions, decisions, and relevant discussions when appropriate.
5. Progress Monitoring & Reassessment
- Monitor patient progress throughout the episode of care.
- Perform reassessments at appropriate intervals.
- Repeat established objective measures to demonstrate progress.
- Compare current findings against the patient's established baseline.
- Modify treatment plans when clinically indicated.
- Identify when patients have achieved their goals or require continued care.
- Make appropriate recommendations for discharge, maintenance care, continued treatment, or referral.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Maintain complete and timely patient records.
- Document examinations, diagnoses, treatment, patient response, education, progress, and care-plan changes appropriately.
- Follow all applicable federal and state laws, professional regulations, payer requirements, and practice policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.
- Use practice technology and documentation systems appropriately.
- Correct documentation errors according to established practice procedures.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, continuing education, and professional credentials.
7. Communication & Care Coordination
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, staff, providers, and referring professionals.
- Coordinate patient care with physical therapy and other members of the clinical team when appropriate.
- Communicate relevant clinical information to referring providers within established procedures.
- Respond to internal communication in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in case discussions and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Escalate clinical, operational, compliance, or patient-safety concerns appropriately.
8. Patient Experience
The Chiropractic Provider is expected to contribute to an exceptional patient experience at every stage of care.
Responsibilities include:

9. Teamwork & Practice Operations
- Work collaboratively with front desk, billing, chiropractic, physical therapy, and administrative team members.
- Follow established scheduling, communication, documentation, and operational procedures.
- Maintain awareness of the provider's schedule and communicate scheduling concerns promptly.
- Participate in team meetings and training.
- Assist in identifying operational problems and recommending solutions.
- Support practice initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience.
- Demonstrate flexibility when reasonable changes are required to support patients and the team.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
10. Professional Development
- Maintain current knowledge of chiropractic clinical practices.
- Participate in continuing education as required by law and practice expectations.
- Pursue professional development relevant to patient needs and practice services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements described below represent the typical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
The Chiropractic Provider must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Sit for documentation, consultation, and administrative responsibilities.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and reach as necessary to perform clinical duties.
- Perform chiropractic adjustments and manual treatment techniques.
- Position and reposition patients safely.
- Assist patients with movement and positioning when clinically appropriate.
- Apply appropriate physical force and pressure consistent with treatment techniques and patient safety.
- Occasionally lift, move, or assist with equipment and supplies.
- Maintain appropriate body mechanics during patient care.
- Use a computer, keyboard, mouse, tablet, telephone, and other office technology.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications
- Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic institution.
- Current, unrestricted chiropractic license in the applicable state.
- Current compliance with all state licensing and continuing education requirements.
- Current professional certifications required for the position.
- Ability to practice within the applicable scope of chiropractic practice.
- Knowledge of chiropractic examination, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education.
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
- NSCA CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist), SFMA, Graston, Active Release Technique, McKenzie or MDT, dry needling, acupuncture.
If you are not a CSCS, then they must get certified within the first 6 months of joining.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a chiropractic or multidisciplinary chiropractic/physical therapy practice.
- Experience working with personal injury or insurance-related cases.
- Experience coordinating care with medical providers and referring professionals.
- Experience utilizing objective outcome measures and functional assessments.
- Experience working within established clinical protocols and care pathways.
- Experience with electronic health records and practice-management systems.
- Experience working collaboratively with physical therapists and other rehabilitation professionals.
- Strong patient education and consultation skills.

The Chiropractic Provider is required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information, employee information, business operations, financial information, proprietary processes, and other confidential practice information.
The provider is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that protects the reputation, integrity, and professionalism of the practice.
Any conduct that compromises patient safety, confidentiality, professional standards, or the integrity of the practice may be subject to corrective action in accordance with applicable law and practice policy.
