Position Summary
NorcaTec is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to support the Aerospace business unit and manage end-to-end customer, program, and supply chain execution in a highly technical aerospace and defense environment.
The Senior Program Manager will serve as a key point of contact for assigned customers and strategic programs, managing requirements from initial customer inquiry and quotation through provisioning, planning, purchasing, order generation, fulfillment, and ongoing account support. The role will have a strong focus on customer responsiveness, revenue opportunity capture, strategic purchasing, inventory planning, pricing, and margin optimization and will work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, Engineering, Logistics, Export Compliance, and Business Development to ensure customer requirements are met while maximizing program performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Program & Customer Management
- Manage assigned customer accounts and strategic programs from initial inquiry through fulfillment and ongoing account support.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing timely communication, status updates, and proactive issue resolution.
- Improve responsiveness to customer requests and ensure timely follow-up on quotations, orders, delivery requirements, and program needs.
- Review and evaluate customer inquiries, RFQs, purchase orders, contracts, and related requirements.
- Prepare customer proposals and coordinate internal approvals and customer submissions.
- Monitor customer commitments, deadlines, delivery requirements, and overall program performance.
- Strengthen account management and customer support for key strategic Aerospace programs.
- Identify and pursue short-cycle revenue opportunities by responding quickly to customer requirements and coordinating internal execution.
- Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for account growth and additional business.
- Escalate significant customer, program, delivery, or commercial issues to the Head of the Aerospace Business Unit and senior leadership as appropriate.
Provisioning, Planning & Order Generation
- Support provisioning and planning activities to ensure appropriate material availability and timely fulfillment of customer requirements.
- Coordinate customer order review, entry, acknowledgement, and internal order generation.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable purchasing, inventory, and fulfillment plans.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Purchasing to make timely purchasing decisions that support customer commitments and optimize program economics.
- Monitor demand, inventory requirements, lead times, and supplier availability to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Support strategic inventory planning to improve service levels, reduce supply risk, and enhance margins.
- Ensure appropriate technical, quality, contractual, and customer requirements are incorporated into purchasing and order-generation activities.
Purchasing, Pricing & Margin Optimization
- Coordinate supplier sourcing and evaluate competitive supplier responses to customer requirements.
- Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain to identify strategic purchasing opportunities.
- Support earlier purchasing decisions where appropriate to secure favorable pricing and protect margins rather than waiting for annual catalog price increases.
- Analyze supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, and terms to support commercially sound purchasing decisions.
- Support customer pricing and proposal development with consideration for current supplier costs, market conditions, inventory requirements, and target margins.
- Identify opportunities to improve program profitability through purchasing strategy, inventory planning, pricing, and order timing.
- Monitor pricing and margin performance and escalate risks or opportunities to business unit leadership.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery, and applicable terms and conditions, as appropriate.
- Coordinate supplier purchase order placement and ensure appropriate flow-down of applicable customer, contractual, technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Program Execution
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Engineering, Export Compliance, and Business Development.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure customer and program requirements are understood and effectively executed.
- Participate in program and business reviews and provide visibility into program status, risks, issues, revenue opportunities, and margin performance.
- Drive accountability for customer responsiveness, delivery performance, internal KPIs, and program objectives.
- Support export compliance by ensuring appropriate customer documentation and information are obtained.
- Resolve pricing, delivery, purchasing, inventory, and order-management issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Escalate critical issues that cannot be readily resolved and proactively communicate potential impacts to customers, revenue, margins, or delivery.
Strategic Business Support
- Support the Head of the Aerospace Business Unit by assuming day-to-day program execution responsibilities and allowing greater focus on strategic business priorities.
- Provide program-level information and analysis to support strategic initiatives, sourcing strategies, business case development, and business development activities.
- Identify customer, supplier, purchasing, inventory, and pricing trends that may create business opportunities or risks.
- Support business development efforts through customer knowledge, program insights, opportunity identification, and timely execution of customer requirements.
- Contribute to business cases and strategic initiatives by providing relevant program, pricing, purchasing, and customer information.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure program activities are performed in accordance with NorcaTec's QMS procedures, work instructions, and internal controls.
- Support Quality Assurance internal audits and related corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Ensure customer requirements, technical requirements, and applicable contractual requirements are appropriately flowed down and maintained.
- Identify opportunities to improve program management, provisioning, purchasing, order management, pricing, and customer support processes.
- Recommend and implement practical improvements that increase responsiveness, efficiency, execution quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Promote consistent processes and best practices across the Program Management organization.
Leadership & Team Support
- Direct management of the Distribution Team (3 team members currently).
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to other Program Managers and team members regarding customer management, supply chain execution, and program management best practices.
- Serve as a senior resource and escalation point for complex customer, supplier, pricing, purchasing, and program issues.
- Support workload prioritization, account ownership, and delegation to ensure effective program coverage.
- Participate in employee performance management, coaching, development, and annual performance evaluations, as applicable.
- Contribute to a customer-focused, commercially aware, and continuous-improvement culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in program management, supply chain management, customer operations, purchasing, or a related function.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex customer accounts, programs, suppliers, purchase orders, quotations, and order fulfillment.
- Direct experience in the aerospace/defense industry and/or U.S. Government contracting preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of supply chain, sourcing, procurement, provisioning, inventory planning, and customer order management.
- Experience supporting pricing, quotation, purchasing, or margin optimization activities.
- Experience working within a regulated or quality-controlled environment; AS9100/QMS experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems; experience with Pentagon 2000 or a similar ERP system is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS requirements preferred.
- Strong customer relationship management, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple programs, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional disciplines.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, technically complex environment.
- Ability to balance customer needs with commercial, margin, inventory, and operational considerations.
- Flexibility to support international customers and business requirements as needed.
Salary
$95,000-$105,000, negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications. This position may also be eligible for an incentive plan based on individual performance and company meeting defined targets.
