Role Description

The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and supports enterprise-level people strategy across employee relations, talent acquisition and development, compliance, internal communications, and organizational preparedness. This role ensures consistent, compliant, and scalable people practices while enabling leaders and HR team members to execute effectively across the organization. This position reports to the General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

Lead recruiting projections and workforce planning in partnership with company leadership.
Monitor applicant flow, hiring trends, and external labor market conditions to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities.
Oversee recruiting strategy, advertising channels, vendor partnerships, job postings, career fairs, and recruiting coordination.
Manage recruiting-related spending, including online job boards, recruiting supplies, hiring events, and related resources, to maximize return on investment.

Employee Relations & Legal Risk Management

Serve as the primary owner of escalated employee relations matters, including complaints, disputes, and formal allegations.
Lead company responses to sensitive matters involving discrimination, retaliation, and other employment-related concerns.
Partner directly with legal counsel to investigate issues, develop defensible responses, and reduce organizational risk.
Advise and coach leaders on sensitive employee situations while reinforcing consistent practices across departments.

Performance Management, Talent Systems & Calibration

Oversee “Right People, Right Seats” grading frameworks and related talent systems.
Lead talent calibration discussions to promote consistency, fairness, and alignment with leadership expectations.
Partner with department leaders to define role expectations, performance standards, and development priorities.
Partner with operations leadership to strengthen standards, accountability, and continuous performance improvement across plant operations.

Training, Development & Onboarding

Provide direction and support to the Training and Development function, including leadership and training initiatives for field operations and corporate employees.
Ensure training programs align with company leadership philosophy, foundational attributes, and operational needs.
Oversee structured onboarding and training frameworks to support consistency and scalability across plants and corporate departments.

HR Team Leadership & Enablement

Lead and support HR team members responsible for training and development, events, recruiting operations, HR analytics, and talent data.
Set priorities, clarify expectations, and ensure HR team members have the resources, guidance, and alignment needed to execute effectively.
Provide coaching, direction, and support across HR functions to strengthen collaboration and operational execution.

Compliance, Policy & Governance

Serve as the decision-maker for disputed background check questions involving criminal or credit-related matters, as applicable.
Interpret policies and provide guidance to leaders and HR team members to ensure consistent, legally compliant application.
Partner with legal counsel on policy development, updates, compliance matters, and employment-related risk mitigation.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus a minimum of eight years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably in a multi-location operational environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced employee relations experience, including employment-law risk management and partnership with legal counsel.
Experience leading, coaching, and developing HR team members across multiple functional areas.
Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, recruiting strategy, performance management, talent calibration, policy governance, and compliance leadership.
Strong business judgment, discretion, communication skills, and ability to influence leaders at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, improve processes, and drive consistent execution across locations and departments.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction with leaders, HR team members, and operational teams.
Occasional travel to company locations, hiring events, meetings, or training events may be required.
Must be able to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
