About the Practice
Kyra R. Patterson, Attorney at Law, is a solo estate planning law practice dedicated to helping individuals and families plan for the future with clarity, compassion, and care. We take pride in building lasting relationships with clients and delivering high-quality, personalized legal services.

Position Overview

As a Paralegal, you'll work closely with the attorney to support all aspects of the estate planning process - from client communication and document preparation to file management and scheduling. This is an ideal role for someone who values precision, enjoys helping others, and thrives in a close-knit, professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

Client Interaction: Serve as a warm, professional first point of contact for clients - managing calls, emails, and appointments with empathy and discretion
Document Preparation: Draft, edit, and proofread revocable trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney, advance health care directives, deeds, letters, and forms related to estate planning, trust administration, and probate.
File & Calendar Management: Maintain organized client files (physical and digital) and track all deadlines, meetings, and signing appointments.
Administrative Support: Manage client intake, correspondence, billing entries, and document execution logistics.
Case Coordination: Assist in gathering client information, reviewing intake forms, and ensuring all required details are complete and accurate.
Confidentiality & Reliability: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and consistently follow through on assigned tasks.

Qualifications:

Education: Paralegal certificate required, Bachelor's degree a plus.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience as a paralegal preferred, estate planning or probate experience highly valued.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and data entry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
Friendly and professional demeanor, especially when working directly with clients
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Clio software preferred

Personal Qualities:

Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive client information
Dependable and proactive - able to anticipate needs and take initiative
Compassionate and patient when assisting clients
Flexible and adaptable in a small-office environment
