Job Summary

Life Safety Training Manager

Life Safety is seeking an experienced and highly organized Life Safety Training Manager to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of our operational training programs.

This position will serve as a primary resource for training employees on fire and life safety services, field operations, compliance requirements, service procedures, documentation standards and customer expectations

The Training Manager will work closely with Operations and Service Coordinators

The goal of this position is to establish a consistent training standard across the organization that improves employee performance, strengthens accountability, reduces operational errors, and supports Life Safety's commitment to providing reliable and compliant service to our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and continuously improve Life Safety's Service Coordinator training program.
Lead onboarding and initial training for new Service Coordinators,.
Provide ongoing refresher and developmental training for existing Service Coordinators.
Develop structured 30-, 60-, and 90-day training programs for applicable positions.
Train employees on Life Safety's inspection, deficiency, repair, emergency service, and work-order management processes.
Ensure employees understand the proper workflow from service request through dispatch, scheduling, completion, documentation, billing readiness, and closeout.
Provide training on fire and life safety systems, terminology, and service requirements, including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, sprinkler systems, kitchen suppression systems, monitoring, and other applicable services.
Train employees on proper technician dispatch, scheduling, follow-up, escalation, and documentation procedures.
Reinforce company expectations regarding response times, customer communication, follow-up deadlines, and work-order accountability.
Develop training for client-specific requirements, including IVR procedures, NTE requirements, portal usage, documentation standards, and other customer-specific protocols.
Create and maintain SOPs, training manuals, checklists, workflow charts, reference guides, and other training materials.
Conduct classroom, virtual, one-on-one, and hands-on training as appropriate.
Develop competency assessments, quizzes, practical exercises, and performance evaluations to measure employee understanding.
Identify knowledge or performance gaps and develop corrective or supplemental training.
Partner with department leadership to ensure training reflects current operational procedures and company expectations.
Maintain accurate training records, attendance documentation, certifications, and employee competency records.
Assist management with coaching employees who require additional training or performance improvement.
Monitor changes in industry standards, regulations, customer requirements, and internal procedures and incorporate those changes into training.
Promote a culture in which life safety, compliance, urgency, accountability, and customer service are treated as non-negotiable standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in the fire protection, life safety, facilities management, field service, construction, or related service industry preferred.
Previous experience in training, coaching, supervision, operations, or employee development strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of fire and life safety systems and service operations preferred.
Experience developing SOPs, training materials, or operational procedures preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Training and Development, Operations, Fire Protection, or a related discipline preferred but not required when equivalent industry experience is demonstrated.
Experience working in a multi-location service organization is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of fire and life safety operations, service workflows, and compliance-driven environments.
Ability to translate technical and operational information into clear, practical training.
Strong presentation, coaching, and instructional skills.
Ability to train employees with different levels of experience and technical knowledge.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and documentation.
Ability to develop structured processes and hold employees accountable to established standards.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to identify operational weaknesses and develop training solutions to correct them.
Comfortable working with field service management software, Microsoft Office, customer portals, and other business applications.

Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, technicians, vendors, and senior leadership.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
