Position: CNC Operator

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Shop Foreman

Hours: Multiple Shifts (Onsite) 1st: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 2nd: 2:00 PM – 10:30PM, 3rd: 10:00PM – 6:30AM

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Hourly

JOB DESCRIPTION

Established in 1987, CEI machines complex, tight-tolerance components for Fortune 500 customers in aerospace, aviation, and data storage. The CNC Operator runs various CNC mills and lathes, holds tolerances to print, and owns the quality coming off the machine. Our campus is climate controlled and has a half-court basketball court, gym, and cafeteria. This is a fast-paced shop with room to grow.

Essential Job Functions

Operate CNC machines throughout the shift while maintaining productivity and part quality.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, setup sheets, and routers.
Select, assemble, and set tooling. Monitor tool wear and change tooling as needed.
Make offset and program adjustments at the control to bring parts into tolerance as required.
Inspect parts using various inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, etc.).
Perform basic inspection setups using bore gages, air gages, and surface plates.
Complete production and inspection documentation as required by the job.
Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

Preferred

Previous CNC machine operation experience.
Comfortable with precision measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers.
Working knowledge of common G codes and M functions.
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, setup sheets, and routers.
Solid shop math, including metric and imperial conversions.
Strong attention to detail and a safety mindset.
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR 22 CFR 120.62.
Experience with both milling and turning.
Experience editing programs at the control (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
Trade school training or a completed machining apprenticeship.
Aerospace or AS9100 experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machine noise, coolant, and metal chips.
Required use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
Must be able to remain on your feet and move about the shop floor for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and handle tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
Overtime is available and may be required based on production demand.
