POSITION: Imaging Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: 6
REPORTS TO: Practice Coordinator
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Position serves as a radiology technologist who performs x-rays, CT scans and MRI’s within the practice. This is a full time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtains authorizations for imaging services
- Inputs patient information into charts
- Adjust and maintain imaging equipment
- Precisely follow orders from physicians on what areas of the body to image
- Prepare patients for procedures, including taking a medical history and answering questions about the procedure
- Protect the patient by shielding exposed areas that do not need to be imaged
- Position the patient and the equipment to get the correct image
- Operate the computerized equipment to take the images
- Work with physicians to evaluate the images and to determine whether additional images need to be taken
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
- Attends CPR and OSHA training programs as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- General knowledge and experience of X-ray/MRI orthopedic positioning
- Associates degree
- ARRT License – Certified X-ray technician
- Minimum one year of experience
- HIPPA Certification

Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing or sitting for extensive periods of time. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee will be exposed to biohazard materials on a regular basis.
Employee will have some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances (ie: cleaning products), medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
