We are currently hiring for: Maintenance Mechanic Assistant
The Maintenance Mechanic Assistant provides support to the maintenance department by assisting with data entry, inventory management, and parts coordination. This role is responsible for accurately entering maintenance records into the computer system, tracking and organizing inventory, and assigning parts to work orders to ensure efficient workflow. The Maintenance Mechanic Assistant works closely with mechanics and supervisors to maintain accurate records, support equipment repairs, and keep the department running smoothly
Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory levels of maintenance parts; ensuring parts room is organized and work areas are clean.
- Order parts for maintenance mechanics.
- Assist Maintenance Mechanics to retrieve parts.
- Data entry skillset to enter data for maintenance mechanics performed data.
- Exhibits a positive attitude.
- Projects and other duties at the discretion of the Maintenance Manager.
- Close work orders daily using Maintenance database system administrator. (Including typing in comments, ensuring labor is captured correctly, filling in all appropriate fields.
- Serve as back-up to maintenance database system administrator (including typing in new PM tasks, analyzing work order comments to determine reason for equipment failures, developing presentations for management review.)
- Prepare, assemble and process required documentation for time entry and maintenance scheduling.
- Input data and run reports utilizing computerized maintenance management system.
- Schedule maintenance related meetings, trainings as needed.
- Maintain proper housekeeping conditions of the maintenance mezzanine/facilities.
- Prepare report, charts, summary of maintenance activities, downtime histories.
- Purchasing parts, maintain stock levels.
- Warehouse/stockroom cycle counts
- Receives incoming parts and supplies (stock/non-stock).
- Assist Maintenance Mechanics retrieve parts. Ensure Maintenance Mechanics are signing out parts.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with general clerical work, data entry, and parts inventory.
- Responsible for any other projects and other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a parts or mechanically inclined role.
- Food manufacturing experience a plus!
- Microsoft Office Products - MSW, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook - Intermediate level.
- Data entry - alpha and numeric.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service both internally as well as externally with vendors, and customers.
- Ability to work in a cold/wet refrigerated environment.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Strong understanding of tools.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time in a refrigerated environment.
- Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
